Eziachi:
Because that is a standard British medical procedure, the same way we plead that people sign up to donate their organs. It doesn't mean there are no transfusion alternatives. As regards platelets, there are now synthetic platelets, which I had used personally with JW as a pre-op therapy.
Like I said before, we are very close now to a total non transfusion medicine, just as we are hoping for stems cell research to get to its peak, when there will be no need for organ donation.

Really? research is close? How close are you talking? Please! Organ and blood donation is still at critical levels in the uk! People are dying everyday waiting for organs. Do you work for the nhs? Are you aware what financial crisis they're in? What levels of extra money will it take for funding all these 'artificial' organs and platelets?

Also more serious moral questions are being raised with stem cell research., growing human fertilised eggs in petri dishes to get the DNA used for growing organs.

@eziachi so why regularly in Britain do we have the medical profession pleading with the public to please give blood??

I know for a fact that blood isn't just used for transfusions. Platelets from donated blood are used for example with birthing mothers and during pregnancy for anti D injections to save babies in their mothers womb. I wonder what a JW stand there would be?

Your statement "I was born into a religion" simple mean your religion was handed to you by your parents. You have not made any personal bible research to prove to yourself if your believe is approved by Jehovah God.

Exactly how did you arrive at the conclusion I haven't 'made any personal bible research'? Are you that ignorant that you can make such an assumption from my statement? Bible versus are taken out of context regularly and people make up their own beliefs from them. Carry on with yours and I'll carry on with mine!

Again! I'm glad I'm alive today! Thank God and my parents Amen!

I am alive today because of blood transfusion. Thank God I was born into a religion that valued my life more than some bible verse that was taken literally or misconstrued!

@op hmmm this is maybe for girls who don't want to commit or have no self esteem.

Bad guys have a shelf life. Bad guys don't stay with one partner. If Karma is real? in 50 years time there's going to be a lot of old wrinkly 'I used to be hot' lonely sad men. Or if they do marry? lots of miserable women wishing they had made a better decision.

@op sorry I haven't read the full thread. The first post was enough.

Please stop whatever you and your wife are doing. It will only lead to regret. Being broke sucks! But it's character building and when you're down just look forward to the rebuild that you're capable of. Never sacrifice love or self respect for money. It will only lead to misery.

Anyone can quote a post made by another. Abusive words don't do anyone any good. Just because opinions differ doesn't mean the said opinions are wrong. Folk will raise their children the way they deem fit...it's personal opinion, not fact.

Opinions may not be agreed with, but they must not be restricted.

Whiteroses post was quite offensive and insulting though. She said herself she 'slamms' women who breast feed. Maybe you should re read it. a breast feeding mother has only her hungry baby to worry about not the opinions of men, how discomforted onlookers are or the shape of her breasts. When a baby is hungry screw everyone else! sorry but the way some people eat is disgusting! Would anyone walk up to them and say um could you eat elsewhere or please purée your food at home into a bottle so we don't need to see you eat it??

whiteroses: i've always slammed those sort of women, this is 2010 they now have baby formula and if you like natural why cant you pump before yu go out, they bare their oblong oyan while the whole world stares with discomfort. women need to really step their game up, some women have kids and let go, going braless and wearing wrapper round the house nigeria is longer than africa who is looking at me, all these tings are unattractive and men are so visual you really wanna look decent half the time

LMAO!! *rolls eyes* pathetic useless post!!! obviously more self absorbed with 'self' than needs of baby. Good luck lady!

We have the highest number of churches in Nigeria, yet we are still the most corrupt nation on earth because of people like the OP.

If a woman covers her body from head to toe, does it mean she is "holy" or faithful to her husband? In the OP and his cohorts mind, this woman is a slut but a woman who wears hijab or dresses like a nun is a decent woman.

Never judge a book by its cover and never judge a human by what he/she is wearing.

Ahh see give this man a clap!! Very eloquently put!

jay bee: A married woman who doesn't want unnecessary attention shouldn't be caught dressing provocatively period.

Married or single!

It's fashion not an invitation!

If we're covered I don't care what you say. Temptation is there no matter. It doesn't take a genius to figure what's beneath clothes.

Buh, does that mean such dressing should be encouraged?

No my point is people and their actions will happen regardless of dress. If a woman has a short skirt on she is not saying 'come get me' She is just wearing a short skirt. I think maybe men should take some responsibility and realise dressing a certain way is by no means an invitation.

I wouldn't wear that dress. I don't wear revealing clothes. Reason being I don't want to give the wrong impression. PURELY because of men and their opinions on women who dress too sexy.

COS BEYONCE IS AMERICAN AND AMERICANS HAVE ALL GONE NUTS. DON'T COMPARE AMERICA TO AFRICA, IN TERMS OF CULTURE.

Ok you don't have to shout smiley

So correct me if I'm wrong. African people who believe the lady in the OP is dressing slutty will be disgraced looking at her. Yet because Beyonce is American they will quite happily look at her with lust, and free her of judgement?

Seems like a hypocritical view.

I agree America is nuts but does Nigeria not have a high infidelity instance? I mean this is what the point is right? Cover the ladies to stop temptation?

I'm not being facetious here I'm actually interested in the views.

slap1: People forget that we have a culture that should not be eroded by civilization. I'm not complaining because she's not my wife, I'm bothered about the effects of such dressing. It sets bad example for our daughters, and it could make husbands 'salivate', which could lead to infidelity. . .which could also make the pro-civilization gals on Nairaland to open a men-are-dogs thread.

LMAO!!! please!!! Infidelity is a serious problem regardless and has been for yrs smh!
