Pls if you don't mind, can you send a sample of your SOP? You can leave out the personal details, I am currently drafting my sop.
Ethanuella:
Some SOP tips that I used. They might come handy. I got my PPR in 19 days.

First, start with an intro : My name is xxxx, and I am writing in respect to my application for a Canadian study visa to pursue a xxxx at xxxx University.

Write a summary of your personal background. : State your name, spouse n kids (if any), siblings and parents. Please list their full name. You may also want to include the jobs they do.

Summarize your academic background : Please summarize every of your academic qualifications, including short courses, certifications, etc.

Summarize your professional background : Summarize every job experience listed in your cv/resume. Please list volunteering experiences too.

Write the reason for wanting to study course of choice : In this case, you might want to find a connection between your educational and professional experience, and then state it. In my case, I searched online and saw a major issue stated by the fed govt, and the issue was linked to my course of study. I stated this issue, wrote how this course will help mitigate this issue, and in turn, we would have a better Nigeria. I also copied the link to the news on punch website, and inserted it into my SOP.

Reason for studying in Canaaada : Truthfully, there was no university in Nigeria that offered the course I wanted to study, so I stated that. I made utmost research on this.

Finance : Please do a table of your funds in Naira, and then convert it to CAD. List the funds in both Naira and cad. Also list where each fund comes from. Include sponsorship, bank statement, savings, gist deed, property valuations etc

Draw a table for your expenses : Explain how you intend to spend the money (insurance, medicals, bus pass, etc)

Lump sum explanation : Explain every lump sum in details.

List every travel status : if you have ever been refused visa into any country, if you have/have had an express entry status, etc.

Conclusion : You can include your resumption date and appeal for a speedy application consideration. Also state an assurance that you will conduct yourself well, and adhere to the rules and regulations.

Underneath, do a comprehensive list of your supporting documents so that they can understand when checking. Eg

Enclosed documents

LOA
B.sc cert &transcripts
Xxxx certification
Pictures with parents and siblings
Picture at work
House doc etc.

Please be neat, use proper grammar, punctuations and paragraphs.

Proper paragraphs are very important. It makes it easy to read.

SOP shouldn’t bore the reader. 3-4 pages max. You can have less than that. (A friend’s SOP was just about 10 lines and was approved). Font size should be around 9 or 10. Please also make use of an official and professional font type.

Pray oh, pray for grace. If you are tired, you can switch to just singing praises. Remember that the walls of Jericho fell down flat when the children of God were praising the Lord.

Never underestimate the power of praises and thanksgiving.

Ah, this your approval is giving me so much hope, I wish, meaning your husband did a gift deed to you right? Is your husband fully sponsoring you or he's just a co sponsor? Pls don't mind my many questions..
Ethanuella:
No, I did it myself.

I showed his ongoing contract letters and purchase orders with about 4 companies. The contracts are usually renewed every year, and I showed ones for last year too to prove to them that it’s an ongoing thing.

I didn’t show his statement of acct
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by Stardor: 5:58am On Nov 16, 2023
Pls How did you show proof of your husband being able to pay the second year expense? Did you use an agent because at this point I am almost regretting using an agent, the stress they put me through is too much.
Ethanuella:
2 years program totaling 18,900 cad (12,852 for yr1, 6k for yr 2)

I only showed Pof and living expenses for one year including 3k miscellaneous, then explained how my husband is willing and capable of paying the remaining, and how he’ll still be able to fend for himself and the kids.

I used oanda rate

I posted here earlier that the agent that did my vv visa wasn’t communicating with me, and didn’t give me access to my account. I also tried the application status tracker but it didn’t go through. It was after I submitted that I was able to view my vv visa application and saw that it was refused.

In my imm form, when asked if I applied before, I said yes. When asked if I was refused, I said no, that my application was still in progress, without me knowing that my application was refused.

On November 1st, I raised a million web forms updating IRCC and explaining that it was an oversight on my part, and indeed, my visitor visa application was refused. I raised more web forms on Monday

Help me praise God ohhhh

Thank you for your kind response, congratulations once again.
gideon19:
I used 1 year for my UBA MBS
Spouse used 6 months (i think that's the max) for GTB MBS

I told them I have 94k CAD [liquid] as proof of funds just for this programme and I showed other assets in my name.
NOTE: I used N561.686/CAD 1

I also ensured I have more than the available funds stated in the SOP i.e. more than the 94k CAD.

Instead of 10k CAD for primary applicant, i used 14k CAD cos, that's what they stated in the admission letter. The insurance is also from the school, so I used info I got from the school to draft the table

I just even realize say i made a mistake for this table. [lolz]

You are meant to show 1year fee with 10k CAD and may be some miscellaneous. Please don't put undue pressure on yourself getting your 2years fees. The requirements is stated and that's how I did mine.

Good morning guys, Please can someone respond to my question? Please..
Stardor:
Please I need candid advice and opinions, my agent is making me tensed about this travel thing as regards POF, agent is saying I need to show proof of complete 2 years tuition, I have already paid first semester tuition, my spouse is my co sponsor, and I initially planned to show proof of the balance of first year tuition and my 2 years living expenses, while the plan on how to raise the second year tuition will be explained in my Sop, now agent is saying I have to show proof of complete amount needed for my study and still have extra.. making up the extra would cost me a whole lot, sometimes I feel like backing out, the stress is getting too much..
Please I need advice, for those who used co sponsors did you show proof of full tuition for the duration of the study?

Thank you so much for the detailed response, I appreciate it, in this case my husband will be my co sponsor, he runs a business, so it's safe to show proof of funds for just a year plus some extra cash for miscalenous expenses right? With a detailed explanation of how the proceeds from his business will be towards funding my second year tuition payment, In this case whose account should have the bulk of the funds? Mine or his?...
bullstriker:
There is no fixed amount for the proof of funds, as it depends on other factors like duration of studies, sponsorship and ability to demonstrate reliable sources of income. For example, if you are sponsoring yourself, you must have the tuition fees and living expenses for the duration of your program OR show funds for one year and a reliable source for subsequent years. On the other hand, if you are using a sponsor, you can show just the cost of education for one year, regardless of the duration of your studies. However, realistically, showing just the minimum is not recommended; it does not make sense for the sponsor to spend all the funds on your education.

In my view, it's best to calculate the cost of flight and local transportation in your intended city and be realistic. Although IRCC uses 10K for living expenses, I recommend adding a couple of thousand to the living expenses, especially if you are going to cities with high living costs like Toronto, Vancouver, etc. That way, you can present your research in your SoP.

Tuition fee/year + living expense (10K) + cost of flight and transportation in Canada = proof of funds.
