Kevineleven:
Just find love and marry the love of your life, she is out there believe me, you must learn to smoke out and cut off fake lovers in your journey.
Oh blessed is the man that finds his missing rib, for he alone will know that marriage is the best thing that can happen to a man.
when one loss out they have all this funny rules. Expectations damages things. If my wife doesn't want sex I don't imagine she is weaponising it. I try understanding the problem. Most of us are traumatized and also living with traumatized fellows. Can't try damaging yourself because of someone. If she is misbehaving, I wash everything washable and try to sleep. We all have alternatives. Who should spoil my wife if not me and I should be treated special too. Give without expecting.

I don't like this type of palliatives. It's definitely going to end up in some people's pockets.

Jonathan tried it and it failed, Buhari tried it and it failed. Tinubu should not end up like those two.

We can't afford another looting bonanza in this country.

Palliatives should be inform

>A scheme to convert 1000 public taxis to CNG from petroleum engines at half the price across the federation and Making CNG readily available

>Create Industrial zones in the six geo political zone and encourage manufacturing of Agro products by giving tax holidays for a five year period for prospective investors.

>Grant Solar companies like SUNKING tax breaks and finance in other to reduce the cost of those solar kits for homes and small businesses (This takes care of generators to an extent)

> Funds to encourage state governments to procure big luxurious buses for cheap transportation.

> Increment in minimum wage.

> Tax reduction for manufacturing businesses already operating in Nigeria.

Those palliatives are not only very different from our regular approach but they also encourages production.
This when leaders are intelligent

From my experience save 12 month your living expenses in dollars as a insurance for loss of job but during that period. Can upgrade you cv to a more desirable field. Business is brutal to start experience without on the job experience and contact. Know a friend who earn close to 950k as a staff of okumu oil. He start a mini palm oil plant and storage business but he had on the job experience. Avoid get rich quick opportunities and all the best.

Greetings all.

I work in a company and my take home is 450k after tax. My problem is I have been thinking of a skill to learn as this job would not last forever. Aside this job I do not have a skill and as a man I feel one should have a long lasting skill. Please any suggestions would be welcomed aside from online skills. Thank you .

Investment / Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by starpower(m): 1:25pm On Jun 26, 2023
60% gross margin. Not net margin o
emmanuelewumi:

Meristem has 2 rates, about 20% for Margin loans. You can only buy approved shares based on their list. They review the list every quarter, maybe to encourage frequent trading. There was a time when GTB was removed from the list, meaning the client would have to sell his or her GTB shares.

I love flexibility, i am not comfortable with the restrictions from Meristem.

Their Asset Backed loan is about 30% all inclusive, you can buy shares with the loan or use it for personal and business expenses. You need monthly or quarterly serving of the loan

The interest rate for Investment One is 22% per annum, they operate bullet payment of the loan interest and principal. Loan runs for a year, you can pay before the maturity of the loan.

Meaning a loan of N1 million at 22%, if you decide to pay after 6 months, you will pay N1.11 million, that is N1 million plus 110k interest.

Not a bad deal for a textile importer who has a stockbroking account with the firm, whose profit margin from his business can be as high as 60% and above

See if those criminals will extort you they will, just that low profile reduces the chances
LandMann:
The problem with Nigerian youths is that you guys don't know how to stay low and humble once you start touching money.

The money you use to buy that flashy car with tinted windows is enough to buy a bus for public transportation or other transportation business that will bring more income for you and take away the eyes of the jealous poverty stricken policemen and other evil people around you.

But no, the first few thousand dollars you get, you start dressing like you are a hip-hop star with dreadlocks and chains and funky sneakers. You rush to buy one exotic car, tint the glasses and then go rent an apartment for a price that is far above the normal price.

You do all this forgetting that they place you on the same level as scammers and fraudsters who spend recklessly and don't mind showcasing or living an extravagant lifestyle.

Remember, you'll always be addressed the way you're dressed.

If you are dressed/living like a yahooboy because Youtube is giving you the same dollars yahooboys have access to then you are subjecting yourself to being abused by the uneducated and extremely corrupt nigerian police.

If you like, don't follow my advice and learn to keep a low profile. You're lucky you didn't lose an eye today or get a bullet in your chest. Will you be so lucky tomorrow?

#Peace?

My oga number 9 is the answer. My wife and I had quite a lot of issues on till this. Talk less. I just ensure I complain twice a month. No wahala after.
franchasofficia:
As a married man with 4 year old successful marriage, I would advice single men to take note of the following before going into marriage:

1.) Marry a mature lady not babies below 25yrs

2.) Marry your friend not just your lover

3.) Make sure you have a steady means of earning legitimate income before you marry. It could be a job, a thriving or promising business or trade, just make sure you have a sustainable job or a promising business or trade with office or shop before you go into marriage.

4.) Have it at the back of your mind that the number one thing that have the greatest potential of destroying your marriage is lack of money, followed by careless cheating.

5.) Expect lots of financial responsibility, so make sure you have the traditional man's mindset to be the sole provider for your wife and kids and family as a whole, don't expect much financial contributions from your wife. Pray to God for this and God will give you the finance to remain in charge of your family and marriage, God answers honest prayers like this more than ever.

6.) Expect less from your wife financially whether she is working, rich or not, just take your eyes off whatever money your wife makes or has and work for your own money and be ready to foot your family's bills 100% without fear or murmuring, this is one sure way to protect your marriage and be in total control.

7.) Don't marry a jobless lady, don't marry a lady without prospect. Even if she is jobless during your courtship, make sure you assist her start something before you marry her.

Being broke, jobless and idle is a sign of laziness don't listen to any excuse, a productive lady will definitely find a way to start something to earn some money while single. Avoid lazy, entitled ladies, they are not meant to be married unless as second wives to rich old men or old widowers and old moneybags, avoid them as a single man

8.) The family background of the girl you want to marry is important, don't do city marriage, find time and know who her parents, siblings, cousins and uncles are if possible, know her root before you marry ghost.

9.) Learn to speak less as a man in your marriage. Learn not to argue with your wife. Listen more, sometimes my wife wonders if I am a deaf and dumb cos I can listen to her gist me about several things without contributing much until she makes jest of me that I too like ameebo then I can contribute or tell her to gist more that she knows I enjoy listening to stories na grin

10.) Be ready to take care of your kids not just financially but in helping to bath them, dress them, change their diapers, etc. Despite the fact that we have helps and Nannies, I still bath my kids once in a while, I still change their diapers myself, I dress them myself, I play a lot with them and they have a permanent car seat installed in all my cars cos I love carrying them about whenever necessary.

To the ladies, learn to respect your man and also avoid cheating on your husband, these two things are the two major sins a typical Nigerian man will never forgive his wife for.

Your mindset will take you to places. Quite a lot of bosses are stressed 10times but we see things from our point of view only.
DesChyko:

True. Most Nigerian bosses are evil. I am a teacher too and I have a lot of evil things to say about my boss. That's if I choose to ignore all the positives he's had in my life. This is an experience that probably goes the opposite direction of yours.

I started as a lowly graduate teacher of a subject in a private school; but my thirst for self development meant my other skills in tech and guidance/counselling were offered for free to the school and students.

Didn't take long for the students to take to me and I took to them. Soon, I began to have more audience with the boss and took over everything tech-related in the school (website checks, electrical faults, DIYs tutorials, name it) and still teaching.

In addition, my knowledge of vast subject and willingness to read made me a buffer for many subjects. If the teacher is unavailable and I'm free, I'd cover for the subject. A number of staff then said it's eye service but I don't really care. I was doing what I love for a not-so-good pay. Soon, I became the V.P.(Acad) the year before COVID. and you could say it was a good achievement.

During COVID, school shut down for 6 months, my boss paid me salary all through, not 100% salary but better than nothing. The next year, my boss accepted my plea for an increment due to the rising costs and jacked up my current salary then by 50%, making me the highest paid in the school. I forgot to mention that the gifts in cash and kind I get from my boss could be worth up to my three-month salary per year in terms of value. He moved on to pay all the expenses for me to partake in a state-wide competition which I emerged first-runner up, putting the LGA on state map and the school too.

The presence of these achievements in my CV positioned me to land a remote opportunity whose pay dwarfs what I earn at the school by almost 400% in terms of value. My boss agreed to allow me spend only half the normal school time after which I leave to begin the remote task. Note that he didn't reduce my salary; neither did any of the benefits I get cut down.

The first 3 alerts I got this year were from former students I taught; who for one random reason or the other, thought of reaching out. One of my female students who graduated in 2019 has my account sitting in her DM now as per her request yesterday. Not to mention the many ways, many of them used their capacity to help me here and there (even to recommend/purchase quality electronic gadgets or jump those humongous queues at MTN Office grin). My birthday is tomorrow. I can't remember the last time I actually planned to celebrate my birthday. January tough. But not these students/former students. Every year for the past 5 years, they always turn up with plans.

I am Igbo, and we're quite few in my organization, my boss is Yoruba. I could have all sorts of petty things to say about him. I'm sure many of my colleagues will have a lot lot more to say about him. But in the things that matter, he has been a catapult to the very high grounds I find myself today and that is all that really matters to me (not petty things and not other people's opinion of him).

It's a lengthy read but I don't know who is sitting in a similar bus headed in a similar direction. It'll probably work out sooner or later. Just don't stop doing something legit. Anything.

I have similar problem, been cautious in talking less, as in compulsive with no gain. Think it childhood trauma.
Jackanda1:
Hello house. Is there any one that has this problem? It seems there is a part of my brain that is wired this way for years now.

While most people lie to escape punishment and blame etc, i tend to lie for no reason atall. Sometimes i need to lie further just to modify the initial lie.

Examples:
1. I went late to work because i had to take home some office files which i worked with all through the night. When asked, i lied to my boss that i had a compound dispute tha made me come late. Saying the truth would have earned me praises from my boss and saved me alot of stress.

2. I got injured at home. When my landlady asked how, i lied that i had a serious accident when going to work that morning.
I told her a long story about the accident scene and all. She was sympatizing with me and almost wept. embarassed

These are just few examples i can type now, there is more.

I can't help but lie most of the time i have conversation with people. Any advice?

Thanks for starting the awareness.
antinarcotics:
I am a Nigerian scientist and researcher based in the USA. Recently, I vsited my town in delta state, Nigeria for a research on substance abuse.

What I saw, to say the least is alarming. A whole town in delta state is hooked on a drug called SWINOL.

This drug contains Flunitrazepam, a highly potent and dangerous benzodiazepam, which can be lethal and highly addictive even at a dose low as 1mg. This is very worrisome, as the addicts to SWINOL cuts across all age groups in the town.

I made some background research and findings reveal that the drug is produced by Swiss Pharma Nigeria Limited.

I visited the open drug market in Onitsha, and I got the drug easily. It is virtually sold in all the shops I entered. This is a schedule A controlled substance, the how come it's every where in the open market. I visited the open market in Lagos, it is sold there too freely. Other brands I saw include Rophynol and Hypnox.

We must do something urgently about this life threatening drug called SWINOL. It is killing the youths in my town.

I call on the Federal Government to look into the sales and distribution of SWINOL, HYPNOX AND OTHERS.

You can read about substance abuse from this piece. https://www.researchgate.net/publication/331829047_DRUG_ADDICTION_AMONG_NIGERIAN_THE_WAY_FORWARD
