pansophist: For a man or woman?
For a man its tough, unless you are from a united wealthy family that can soak up most of the blows life punches at you.
If you are like the average Nigerian, then it is a miracle if there is peace in your family, because peace and poverty are hardly found in the same place.
Financial pressure everywhere, from yourself and family, especially your parents who are weak and hoped you can carry on from where they stop, and do a better job than them.
If you are the first child, you don enter am. You are basically a parent to your parents and siblings. Most of your income will go to them.
You will notice that its easier now to get fat, because as we grow older, our metabolism decreases, and the body store most of the food we eat, making you look chubby, then rounded, then overweight.
The pressure to settle down will begin to mount up, and your best time would be in the past, when you were young, no responsibilities, and ignorant. Ignorant is happiness.
You will struggle to be happy, and your esteem will be bruised because the women that you find attractive, will not like you. You are probably not their speck, even if on an objective basis, you are doing better than them.
They you will arrive at a bitter conclusion that women are not looking for a good man doing fine, but for a wealthy man, with the hope that he is a good man. Accepting you are average will be painful, but you need not live in delusions.
Remember those uncles that gave you 500 naira and biscuit when youre young, now you will be the uncle to their own kids.
People will be watching you, and if any improvement shows up in your life, it will attract request for assistance left and right, that due to self preservation, you will cut off some route from your path, and your whatsapp ''last seen'' status turned to invisible, or just go ghost mode.
Then you will come to appreciate your solitude, and realise that the only time you are free and can be yourself is when you are alone. When you were young, your father forced you to sleep, now you will be very happy to find time to sleep.
You will now also understand why young people fill the clubs, because the 30's and above are at home and actually enjoying the rent they paid heavily for. At best, a bar to drink and talk will hold more value than clubs.
You will now learn to appreciate your father and see clearly that he tried to raise maybe five kids, and handled it for decades. It will make it easy for you to forgive him for all the shortcomings you thought he had.
He was once your superman, but now, you can see clearly that he was just trying his best, and its your turn to go through that same route. Thanks for this. |

Agbalowomeri: Do you do valuation only once? Don't you do valuation regularly? Even Warren does not buy based on valuation but based on potential. There is no foolproof strategy in this business. People conveniently point to success stories. How many fantastic businesses have crumbled on the way. You think Warren sold Tesla purely based on valuation? Why then did he not sell everything? Omo all of us dey do permutation and combination 😂 valuation is needed before buying to be sure that potential not already priced in. It margin of safety. Just how people are ignoring nestle brand pricing power and return on capital employed |

emmanuelewumi: N200 million portfolio after playing the stock market is not bad, in fact na money.
There are a lot of people who have been playing the market for 20 years and above whose portfolios are less than N50 million, which is also not bad.
I doubt if 10% of the Nigerian population can boast of an investment of N50 million. if one can read quiet a lot of Warren letters and understand well and hold long term(very hard). Seriously in 20 years there have been quite a lot of impressive opportunities. One should have up to 200m if you really take it seriously and study capital allocation wisely. My granddad as 100k okomu at price averaging N10, nestle at N20 like 10k unit but he rebuys when cheap and safe dividend in pounds if not spent to rebuy. He mentioned reading Warren early for me was too stupid to understand early. |

What size of battery will you be needing. and many other kitchen things since you are going off power supply completely just started using this particular brand. [img][/img] KarlTom: Hello Sir. I politely disagree with these estimates of yours. I have a 7.5kVA PV system so I know what I am saying...except you failed to disclose that you installed your system at least 4-5years ago.
A 15kVA PV system in 2025 CANNOT cost less than ₦10m (and I am being modest here)... sms 15kw lithium-ion phosphate battery 2.1m currently my 6.2kva hybrid 420k. Using got solar panels 550W 120k 6pcs. 1hp a.c is in eco mode just around 550W each. The electric cooker doesn't run for hours am only one a.c during the day but 2 at night. Been using since September. Got them myself. I use Tubular before just scrapped them. Lithium-ion really going to phase out acid lead batteries very soon. Energy density is far better and cycle life on high depth of discharge. Most times installer just over quotes boiler inverter sizes not needed for people.

NSEstudent: Boss, you guys need to try to experiment with solar panels and inverter in order to confirm some of these numbers.
Admittedly, it used to be so but not anymore.
Since the advent of tier 1 solar panels and Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries, a lot of households are using solar alone for all their power needs for the better part of 5 years. Power needs include cooling (ACs and Fridges), cooking, lighting and many more. You may want to navigate through Nairaland to read firsthand from actual users.
People are running away from NGX due to 2008, the same way people who trialed RE with Lead Acid batteries, makeshift panels and dumb inverters are running away from it. it lithium-ion battery really making thing cheaper if naira appreciate more people will understand. I use, electric cooker 1200W each head, microwave on mine and 1hp a.c 2pc but it 15kva battery lithium-ion phosphate truly with panels, inverter and installation. Funny it 3.8m i did all that like $2,500. I am outrightly off grid. People can cut coat according to their size. |

Agba taxer. That’s how he makes everyone in Lagos pay extreme taxes both formally and informally.
Yet he did not lay a single block of housing unit in his 8 years as governor, let’s not even talk of pipe borne water.
Pa Jakande did more than any other governor of Lagos before and after him did in just 4 years.
