hallysonia:
This question came right in time.

Currently, all my portfolios except Jaiz are red. Even the Jaiz self has reduced in return.

I have the following (with current return at -2.0% of the total money invested):

ABCTRANS bought at 5.42 - bought because I read a positive new about the company. Read the intelligent investor, early years of Berkshire Hathaway letters. But honestly we all will continue to pay for errors of misjudgements.

ARADEL bought at 528.53 - bought because the value is close to all-time low and based on technical/fundamental analysis

DS bought at 63.62 - bought because it is increasing, but didn't sell because it still has a strong fundamental

JAIZ bank bought at 4.53 - bought because I believe the bank will do well in the future

BUA Cement bought at 178.25 - ought because it is increasing. I didnt realize it was close to all time high

TRANSCORP bought at 52.70 - bought because it has a strong fundamental.

My plan is starting with 1.2million, but I have realized that these would turn into dust if care is not taken. How I wish I had read some previous conversion before making my investment decision.

Pa Emma, I was touched by your statement about "smart people learn from expert experience and those who want to learn from personal experience will suffer the most." Not that I'm learning based on my personal experience, but I can't factor out the fact that a 3 weeks old potential investor like me should be very patient. That I have money does not mean I have to make a wary investment decision.

megawealth2, come to my aid, edakun. You once said something about POVERTY and PROUDNESS. I am not proud o.

Streetinvestor2, nosa2, EDUCO, and others. E help wa.

PS:
1. I am potential investor, not really a trader. Currently running my PhD (Maths and Stat) in graduate school, so I don't have time for daily trading.
2. I am not interested in an interest based banks, breweries industries, gambling/lotto industry as well.

Apology for my brevity in typing..

Assuming it has 1 billion outstanding shares like Presco, and can deliver the forecast operating profit of N85 billion in 2029 and Probably a net profit after tax of N50 billion.

That will be an EPS of N50 at a conservative PE of 8 although the average PE in the industry is currently 10.

That business is expected to have a market capitalization of about N400 billion in 2029.

But will be bought for an equivalent of N46 billion in 2025 or early 2026

Imagine what you are writing. You are practically justifying the abnormality of justice being lighter on a class while heavy on another. We are all Nigerians and it seems we deserve what we get. People that make an effort to highlight or change those abnormalities for our own good we rubbish and attack them. The sowore that led a protest of retired police owed pension was still brutalised by the same police. Obi has spoken of this glaring issue of the law having different weights for rich and poor yet you call it clout. Are you a kid not to realise the anarchy this is likely to cause, the damage to society, a breakdown where justice is selective. Look beyond your nose, you could be the one affected tomorrow, abi are you in the higher hierarchy (using your words). Tomorrow it is you guys that will shout "common man" is oppressed when injustice comes close to home.

Leave science discussion to scientists. This so-called invention is a scam. No way water will power a stove. The only way to generate energy from water is to break down the water into oxygen and hydrogen gas and then use the hydrogen to generate energy. Meanwhile, you still need a tremendous amount of energy to split the water into these two components.

Hello Nairalanders, for almost a year now, I've been struggling with jock itch. At first, I didn't know what it was called; I just knew I would get very itchy on my thighs around my private area.

So, I went online and discovered that what I had is called jock itch - a fungal infection that can be caused by moisture around the pubic area. Jock itch is very itchy and leaves a very ugly rash on the skin.

I used Funbact A, and it worked - the rash would clear off. However, immediately I stopped using it, it would come back, and the rash would spread faster. Right now, it's back again, and I want to get Funbact A. But I feel like there should be a very strong antifungal cream better than Funbact A, which is why I'm here. I need recommendations from health practitioners in the house. What can I use to get rid of this infection?

NB: The picture is gotten from Google.
you can use Fungusol ask pharmacist on how to apply it. Had it for more than 8years. Was cured last year with it. It work keep us updated

You're only thinking about yourself. What about her and what she wants to do with her life? Is she even interested in you? I doubt she's thinking about marriage at 18 but probably wants to go pursue her education to achieve whatever goals she wants to achieve for herself, so why not help her with that first? You didn't mention that in your post but just want to marry her to use her for your business. Get her talking and ask her what she wants to do with her life and if she's interested in you. If you love her, you will provide her the funds she needs, then you can marry her later when she finishes. Even if she says she's not interested in you, you can still help her, if you're capable.
marry her when she finish, you can advise your son that way. Bro find your wife else where, it just your emotions, when you see someone often emotions comes up. Firstly avoid financial burdens at this early stage of business, you need to reinvest and create systems. See clear your head o. People change and bro you will be risking too much, don't mix emotions with business, if the relationship didn't workout too much to loose for you. If she want to further her education, how does it help your financial situation. I pray for you. To they date financially struggling people is harder than you think. She would value herself more. EducationRe: The Lecturer Who Didn’t Make First Class, And Made Sure I Didn’t Too by starpower(m): 11:37am On Aug 02, 2025
enemyofprogress:
The Lecturer Who Didn’t Make First Class, and Made Sure I Didn’t Too

On his Facebook wall, Barr. Maruf Muhammed sadly narrated his story:

“During my undergraduate days, I was at a great dilemma as to the optional course to pick between Energy law and International law upon resuming to campus at 400 level. This is because apart from the fact these courses are 4 unit courses which a B could be fatal to the CGPA, we were being advised by most seniors to choose one not out of interest but out of the assurance of getting A to boost the CGPA.

I was at 4.40 CGPA at that time, struggling hard to secure A in most of my courses so as to meet up with 4.50(a first class).

I was advised by our then HOD to choose International law having seen how a fellow lecturer of his, willingly refused to give a senior colleague A in her final year in Energy Law making her graduate with 4.48. I didn't want to experience the same fate. Hence, I obliged and went for International law despite not enjoying boring lectures of the lecturer who taught us in second semester.

We were already in first semester of 500 level when our results came out. I quickly checked and I saw 69B (21 in test and 48 in exam). I was shocked and heartbroken 💔 and I had to meet the man in his office immediately.

Our conversations went like this:

Me: "Good afternoon sir. May the Lord bless you. I checked my International Law result now and saw 69 B. Is there a way you can help me to round it up as stated in the Senate Rules?"

Him: "What is your CGPA at the moment, Muhammed?"

Me: 4.40 sir

Him: You have done well but I'm sorry, there is nothing I can do on this.

Me: 😢 😭!. I prostrated. Daddy, please help me. 🙏 You are the only one who can help me in this circumstance. I don't want to get any score that will jeopardise my chances of making a first class.

Him: "Will you stand up and leave my office, Muhammed?. Don't be silly.

I left in sadness. I later complained to the HOD who sent the result back to him with an instruction to round it up to 70 upon submission. This man insisted saying he didn't graduate with a first class too. Why am I bothering him?.

The issue was later raised at a board meeting where he was compelled to adhere to the Senate rules to add 1 to the 69.

You felt I won? Lol 😆!!

😆
Unfortunately, I had registered for another course of this man; Administrative Law before this incident happened. For both semesters, Baba gave me 54 C and 62 B. My CGPA died at 4.48/5.0 and there was nothing that could be done.

When I presented my transcript for my postgraduate, the Dean of the Faculty of law of the University exclaimed: "What kind of ridiculous CGPA is this?. Did you offend the University you graduated from? Why will you graduate with 4.48 as overall CGPA?

I have other experiences of toxic lecturers but this is just one of them. I can't forget it too!!

Rahma cares ✍️ ❤️!”

PoliticsRe: President Tinubu Meets With GENCOs, Promises To Settle Subsidy Debts by starpower(m): 8:06am On Jul 26, 2025
SmartPolician:
If Tinubu is serious about fixing the power industry, he would set up a counterpart funding scheme to partly finance generation and distribution projects across states. Governors can start such projects and get 30% financial support from the FG before completion.

Signing a bill to democratize power generation and distribution is good, but states don't have money and patience to invest in that industry because they are long-term and capital-intensive projects.

Now, states are launching their electricity industry watchdogs up and down. Those mugus acting as regulators go about setting prices for Discos but Discos and FG are owing Gencos trillions of naira. Una never wan serious for this country.
Sir you are absolutely right. Power is one of the most critical industries that must be fully deregulated. With deregulation, state governments, private sector players, and even community-based microgrids can co-invest, co-innovate, and compete effectively, not just with each other, but against the inefficiency-ridden, subsidy-dependent national grid.

Once consumers start paying the reflective cost of power i meant the actual market price with service delivery should naturally improve. Why? Because competition enforces discipline. When alternatives such as solar, gas, and hybrid microgrids become viable and attractive, the national grid will either reform or get replaced. The days of monopoly power are numbered.

Subsidies breed complacency. They mask inefficiencies and encourage waste. Worse, they drain our national coffers with money that should be channeled into productive infrastructure such as roads, rail, ports, and energy pipelines. These are assets the private sector cannot easily fund alone, but which enable every sector to thrive once built.

Subsidies should target production, not consumption. When you subsidize production, power generation, agro-processing, manufacturing inputs, you create jobs, reduce import dependence, and strengthen the Naira. Subsidizing consumption is like pouring water into a leaking bucket: you burn through money without fixing the system.

Even workers in the power industry will benefit in the long run. A deregulated market means more jobs, better training, higher salaries, and global-standard operations. Everyone wins, except inefficiency.

I think many state governors are not well informed. You get the power from national grid, then start reducing cost as if you’re the one providing the service.

No one is saying they should not reduce price for the citizens but build your own before you can do that. How do they want national grid to breakeven?

Build yours, do your proper analysis to reduce cost and this thereby translate to less price target.
or subsidize your citizens yourself. Abi go off national grid. So they all can't comprehend. If you want decentralisation you are requesting more responsibility.

then I bought Google pixel 3xl 2018 to 2020, after just one drop, the screen smashed.

I bought pixel 3a xl in 2020, again the screen smashed in 2021, I went back to Samsung, bought galaxy note 9, it got stolen after one month.

I went back and repaired the pixel 3xl, used it from 2021 to 2023,the screen spoilt again,

I bought galaxy note 10 plus. From 2023 till now. That's what I'm making this post with.

Among all the Samsung, none had a single fault whatsoever, even on the screen.
