In 2015 election postponement was announced on the 7th of february saturday, a full week before the elections slated for 14 february.
The reasons were
*To improve the security situation in the country by battling the Boko Haram

*To allow space for more nigerians to collect their PVC's

In 2019 elections were postponed on the 16th of february on the day of the initial elections slated for the 16th of february. The reasons are

Breaking News: Abdulraham Abdulrazaq emerges most Popular Politician in Kwara
https://mrrightsng..com/2019/01/breaking-news-abdulraham-abdulrazaq.html

Kwara APC gober candidate, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq has dethroned the Senate President, Bukola Saraki to become the most popular politician in Kwara State.
This revelation was contained in a survey conducted by Kwara Must Change (KMC), the leading pro-Democracy group in Kwara State.

Kwara Must Change (KMC) in a statement signed by its State Coordinator, Comrade Yusuf Olatunji, made public over the weekend announced that the Governorship candidate of All Progressive Congress (APC), Alhaji Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq is now the most popular politician in Kwara State, dethroning the Senate President, Bukola Saraki who used to enjoy such status.

This development, the group said is an indication of is to be expected in the 2019 general election in the state.

Comrade Yusuf Olatunji noted that, the result of its survey conducted in the 16 local government areas of Kwara shows that, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq is the most popular politician in Kwara State not just among the elites, but also among the masses of the state, ranging from market women, taxi drivers, okada riders as well as artisans.

Popularity, according to the Kwara Must Change is not based on reports on the pages of newspapers, but on the street and among the common people, which explains why KMC went on the street to sample the opinion of those that really matters.

‘’Kwara Must Change conducted this research among taxi drivers, okada and keke napep riders, market women, artisans and students of tertiary institutions(which institution? ) am in Ilorin na? and the result of the survey shows that Abdulrahman has a staggering 61% popularity rate, compared to his closest rival, Bukola Saraki, who has only 27%’’.

According to the group, other politicians who enjoyed considerable popularity include Chairman of Sobi F.M, Alhaji Lukman Mustapha, former Federal Character boss, Prof Abdulraheem Oba, PDP governorship candidate, Razak Atunwa, former APC governorship aspirant, Alhaji Shuaibu Yaman, AMB. Yahaya Seriki, APC senatorial aspirant, Comrade Musbau Esinrogunjo, Kwara State governor, Abdulfatah Ahmed among others.

Kwara Must Change explained that, out of the 500 taxi drivers interviewed, more than 50% spoke highly positive of Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq. A taxi driver was quoted as saying, ‘’there is no day the name Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq is not mentioned and discussed inside his taxi by passengers and also at their park’’
*you* lied

Another taxi driver maintained that for him, he believes very strongly that Abdulrahman will easily emerge victorious in 2019 governorship election as his presence is felt in every home and in the heart of majority of the people.

Furthermore, Kwara Must Change also stated that, out of the 1000 okada and keke napep riders interviewed, more than 70% spoke highly favorable of Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq.

Similarly in the markets, over 55% of the respondents believe Abdulrahman will become governor in 2019. The market women, while giving the assurances, most of the market women will also accompany their assurance with an arabic prayer ‘’insha Allah’’, which literally means ‘’by the grace of God’’.

While more than 65% of artisans gave Abdulrahman positive rating, only about 35% of students of tertiary institutions in the state are also positive.

CultureRe: Do We Overestimate The Importance Of African Juju? by Staru1(m): 8:23pm On Jan 06, 2019
NaijaMutant:
Dear son,

Let me tell you a story, the title of my story is: What you believe has power over you and what you don't believe has no power over you.

In Africa, we have a strong belief system on black magic aka juju. This belief system over the years has been strengthened by accumulated weird experiences of the potency of black magic.

Let me share some of my weird experiences with you; from where I came from, there is a local river that never drowns any indigene because any child born in the village performs certain ritual to appease a supposed goddess of the river. The reality is that there have been countless cases of strangers drowning without a single indigene involved undecided

A case for the non-believers in black magic like the Europeans and the slave traders who invaded Africa, looting shrines and artifacts in supposedly sacred places without any consequences; let me rephrase again that the African black magic seems to have a rule that only applies to those who believe in it. Recall that the indigenous accomplices of the European invaders were not spared by the African deities; whilst their European counterparts were unharmed.

Scene 2, let me also tell you the story of reincarnation that is dominant in almost all African society. I have a cousin brother that I'm older than by just 2months. The story after his birth was that he refused to open his hands and eyes until a chicken was sacrificed and the blood was spilled all over him before he could open his eyes and hands. A native Doctor who was also a relative interpreted it to be that he was a reincarnation of an old relative who was murdered in cold blood. This was also helped by my auntie's strong belief in reincarnation as all her children had varying reincarnation experiences and she knows those her children reincarnated. The same cannot be said of my mother who is a born again Christian and doesn't believe in any such thing. In fact, the only person she believes we can reincarnate is Jesus Christ grin Since none of us turn out to be Jesus Christ it meant that reincarnation was not meant for us

To be continued......
.nice one

PoliticsRe: Politicians Pressurising Us To Sell Unclaimed 914, 529 PVCs – INEC by Staru1(m): 9:32am On Dec 28, 2018
babecode:
https://silverbirdtv.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/04/PVC-1-1140x640.jpg

The Independent National Electoral Commission on Thursday raised the alarm that some politicians in Oyo State were mounting pressure on the commission to sell unclaimed 914,529 permanent voter cards in its custody to them.

The commission said it was not giving in to such pressure aimed at rigging the forthcoming polls because “INEC is determined to ensure that people’s votes count in the free, fair and credible elections in 2019.”

Speaking on the theme, “Online journalism and Media integrity in Nigeria,” Agboke declared that some politicians, whose identities he did not disclose, approached the commission to buy PVCs to rig the elections.

He stated, “As far as we are concerned, PVCs are not for sale.”

The REC assured residents of the state of smooth elections devoid of crisis in 2019, stressing that no worker of the commission would sell PVCs to any politician ahead of the 2019 elections.

Agboke said, “They are looking for PVCs to buy. They are looking for what is not available because they know that these things are not available. This is the security report at my disposal.

“Tell those who are looking for PVCs to buy that there is none to buy in Oyo State. I can assure you that no INEC employee will sell PVCs to any politician. I can assure you that the process will be free and fair in Oyo State.

“Those who are looking for PVCs to buy, I won’t give you their names. I don’t have their names.

“But that is the security report I got and the report did not specify the party and the individuals that are involved. They want us to give them PVCs but we can’t give it to them. They want to buy PVCs but there is none to sell in Oyo State.”

Agboke urged journalists in the state to cooperate with the commission in spreading accurate information to members of the public.

He said, “All of us are stakeholders. If you are in doubt, call INEC. More so, you are online journalists, let us ensure that we have our facts correct. For me in Oyo State, I have nothing to hide. We conducted the election in Eruwa and the people that won, won.”

He urged journalists to abide by the ethics of the profession at all times.

The South-West Bureau Chief of The Nation and an Associate Editor of the Nigerian Tribune newspapers, Mr Bisi Oladele, and Mr Wale Ojo-Lanre respectively, urged journalists to always abide by the rules and regulations guiding the profession in their day-to-day reportage.

They said online journalism had come to stay in Nigeria and admonished journalists to distinguish themselves from ordinary writers considering the fact that “almost everybody is a journalist with the advent of internet and smart phones.”

They agreed that one of the ways for the journalists “ to differentiate themselves from ordinary writers was for them to cross-check their facts, investigate their stories and be conscious of the existing laws of the land.”
