If it's in-line with your career aspirations, I will say take it else bolt my guy..work has to be enjoyable, fulfilling and satisfying first irrespective of remuneration else the frustration of being on the wrong job with annoying pay can hang you unclad. I started with 30k going from Ago Palace way to Sango Ota (na their I learn how to use biscuit soak garri just to make ends meet cos is was a biscuit factory).it was hell,i leave home by 4am and return past 12am the next day(7am-7pm) cos this was the height of bad road around Ilepo/Abule Egba axis but I needed the experience.6months later I got an offer of 90k and 19months later I was negotiating salary with confidence somewhere else and moved. I am not there yet but far far away from where I started. Guy nobody here go ask for your account number wey month end o..so use your tongue count your teeth cos life na per head. I no come Lagos come read Linda Ikeji Blog o.

Baba go back and collect your certificate in school, then continue your life in peace. Forget what some kids are saying here. Certificate is not waste, your business might fail tomorrow atleast you will have a back up. Is good to have two options in life; who knows tomorrow you might need it for a certain greater position. If our own Gani Adams (Area boys), Dangote, Davido fit get certificate upon all their money. Hmmnn.. You know the rest of the story na.

@statistical. From personal experience, I'd say you should take it. All you need to do is learn how to manage it. But very importantly, though, try to get an accommodation closer to work. It would keep you sane. Also, work as though it was a 500k per month job. Dedication doesn't hide. When your employers see how committed you are to the job, you'll grow on it speedily. There's nothing more valuable in an organisation than dedicated workers, who know what they are doing.

That 50k won't be 50k forever.
Seriously is not funny. I got the job at Victoria Island of Lagos . As it is now, I'm now squatting at my new work place and will only be going home on weekend just to save cost and for experience.
I finished service last month though. Very fresh in labour market, I don't want to have the taste of unemployment at all.

Dude, Don't pay attention to this guy comment above me and take mine with a pinch of salt.

You see my friend, Fraud or no fraud, you need to make that money, Not for you but for that old man who sponsored your education, he would soon retire and begin to depend on you, will you sit back and watch his investment on you turn a waste?

Yahoo is getting hard by the day due to enlightenment about it by the white folks and restrictions from many dating sites/Facebook so chances are 50/50 if you opt to go the street route.

Again, You could be on the look out for a 9-5 corporate ladder job and work your way up the ladder before you make half of what a yahoo boy would make in one catch of a paying client.

Now what's my point?
I don't even know my point is but be smart enough to read read read read read in between the lines.
I really understand boss. Money gat be made seriously

I'm here after all the hyped education one has acquired; still searching tirelessly in the street of Lagos for a good salary job.

Goddyss:
Sometimes, staying at home is better than undergoing daily stress that probably adds nothing to one's career objective. The 17,000 savings is not worth it especially if the job doesn't further your career objective.

Besides, employers shun employees from attending job interview while on the employment contract. You only restrict yourself from further opportunities by subjecting yourself to servitude without benefits.

I practically rejected a job of salary of 45,000 where my take home will be 33,000. I got rent to pay and man must always eat.

Sometimes it's better to face your worst fear and be at home knowing fully well you are jobless than subject yourself to needless servitude
Na true sha but the more you are less busy or stay home, the more fustration will start coming and you know the rest

You said #1,200 is for transportation excluding feeding.

My little analysis:
If you work from Mon-Sat.

Let's say we have 30days in a month, excluding Sundays we now have 26 days.

Let's add #300 for feeding(its not possible to work the whole day with empty stomach) to the #1,200 transportation cost making it #1,500/day

i.e. #1,500 X 26days = #39,000
If you substrate #39,000 from #50,000 u are now left with #11,000 as savings.

If you work from Mon-Fri.
Let's say we have 30days in a month, excluding Saturdays and Sundays we now have 22 days.

Let's add #300 for feeding to the #1,200 transportation cost making it #1,500/day

i.e. #1,500 X 22days = #33,000
If you substrate #33,000 from #50,000 u are now left with #17,000 as savings.

Now compare this #11,000 and #17,000 savings u will make from the savings u also made on your daily #3,000 hassle for a month. And draw your conclusion considering other factors too like less stress, having ur own time for other things, etc.
Thanks bro for your critical and apt analysis. I will try to cut cost by looking around to squate with a friend that will be closer to the working place. Atleast to have some offline job doing for the main time before the big shot rolls in.

Truth, even npower is 30k per month. I will be spending about 1200 daily on transport excluding feeding that's why I asked the question.
