( birdman: Look at it this way: the 20% that are better than him dont earn his type of pay. So at 50m per year, he is a hindrance to the team if they dont perform come playoffs. The guys that are bing hard on him, while some of it is haterade, do have a point. If you are going to make this much money, we need to see this much impact. Just like we dog Golden State for rewarding a journeyman like a franchise player. His coach clearly made him the third option on the team. It's not his fault. If the first option was Wemby and the second option was Jamal Murray, no one would expect LeBron to do the things people are suggesting he should do. We've seen how he has played on the past 3 games as the first option, which is not different from what other first options in the league are doing. |

birdman: The stage of life is bigger than basketball. Nobody cares about Big O or Dr J anymore. Kareem is still alive and outside LA, who send? Even for LA, who send lol. Even Kobe, give it another 5 years, the average fan will not know or care.
Its time to leave the game to next generation. Every year he spends time in the league is a year he could be doing something else. I give Jordan that props. Even when he cam e back to the league with Wizards, he looked around and realized the ballers of that generation had a different mindset. They could have stacked that team some more, and they might have made ECF. Jordan realized, at that stage of life, ring discussion is for dem kids. Just move on LeBron is still better than 80% of the league at his age. The only reason we think he's a hindrance to his team is because he earns 50m/y. Get this LeBron on 30m/y and it'd be a bargain |

birdman: Sweat wiped off the beard coloring, guy man beards don white like papa smurf
Anyone in their 40s knows what it takes to keep up with a 25 year old on the court. Sometimes, you dont even chase them, just respect yourself and your ankles and let them blow past you. Lebron has been playing for 2 decades, so he has even more wear and tear than the average guy. At some point, the cost of remaining injury free will be too expensive. At this age, you can still be really strong, if you exercise and eat well. But you are not going to out-physical the most athletic 25 year olds in the world.
I think he should make next season his last, go out on top of the game and put his energies into other things. One extra ring will not quiet the haters or settle fake goat debates. Its time enter the next phase, like Kobe was doing before his untimely departure We going till the wheels fall off That's the mantra |

greypencils: Been laughing like a chicken all morning. The MVP race is all about impressing with narratives right? Last night's was very bad for Luka. One down, 3 to go. Who wins, Wemby, Shai, Jokic? If it's squarely Luka vs Shai, Shai wasn't even great. 28 points from 25 shots is not that impressive. You only think he was better because they won by a large margin. Plus Luka even got injured and had to leave the game right in the middle of it. So your argument is quite flawed. |

So this is the Luka experience Mavericks fans were scared of losing when Luka was traded to LA Luka Doncic is that guy. An absolute showman. The highest of superstars. I know I've experienced Bron and Kobe but this is up there too. No wonder the Lakers were licking their lips when the Mavs picked up that phone Which makes me wonder why they didn't rip the Lakers off for picks and players. How on earth is Austin Reaves not a member of the Dallas Mavericks? |

Man, Luka has been unconscious in March. He has to be the MVP if the Lakers can keep the 3 spot. |

SmooshCHN: Read my response again.
The Wizards and their head coach should hang their head in shame.
Bam didn't break any rules. Worst part is, if this happened with LeBron, you would have a totally different take. If this happened with LeBron, the entire world will be spitting fire by now There would be far more media outrage than what you're seeing. Fans would be on each other's throats. Outrage is only reduced because it is Bam and he seems like a likable player, and also because he took something away from a Lakers legend. Everybody hates the Lakers so it's all fair game. |
Sports › Re: The NBA Begins by steady986(m): 2:36pm On Mar 13 |
SmooshCHN: So the problem now is that he scored 83 in an unethical way.
Una no serious. Control your destiny or stfu. The Wizards chose to allow him have 83. He played within the NBA rules so all that nonsense "unethical" narrative should be thrown out the window. If anything, the Wizards should be ashamed of themselves; not Bam or his Teammates. Lmao. If you follow baseball, there's a point in a game when coaches put in a position player to pitch. That's despite having fit pitchers they can throw in. At this point, nothing any hitter does really matters. In fact in response, teams usually take out their main starters and bring in bench guys because they don't want to be a part of that insult. It's like matching shite with shite. That's what the majority of this game looked like: a shite show |
Sports › Re: The NBA Begins by steady986(m): 2:30pm On Mar 13 |
SmooshCHN: Don't do Kobe Bryant like that. He wouldn't give two shíts. Kobe would gladly drop 81 on you and then salute anyone who dropped 83 because he knows nobody would ever disrespect him like that; not even Bron Bron would get 70 on him. MJ called Bam after that game. It's how those guys think.
He wouldn't let anyone drop 83 on him or his teammates. Kobe"s pride is too big to let that happen.
If I'm being precise, he would call the Wizards "Soffft" every f*cking time. That's why I was saying we shouldn't separate the performance from the circumstance. Imagine working your ass off to score huge amounts of points to get your own record and then someone comes along and is handed it on a platter. Nah man |

greypencils: Bam Adebayo doing the lord's work. 83 points against Wizards. Kobe be smiling down from heaven. Make I bend say Kobe dey smile. He'd be ashamed of what was done to the game of basketball. |
Sports › Re: The NBA Begins by steady986(m): 11:32am On Mar 13 |
I hate how media people, fans and ex players are trying to separate Bam's performance from the circumstances surrounding it. Those two things can't be mutually exclusive. You can't tell me to celebrate the historical performance that Bam had, and in the same breath tell me that the circumstances were unethical. And the funniest (and not shocking) are the people who didn't find anything wrong with the performance.
And you can't tell me that history won't remember the circumstances behind the performance. First of all, we all remember Kobe's performance. There are video footages for evidence. We know Wilt had 100 even though the only people that have watched the performance are the people who were in the arena that night. When those performances get brought up, there's really never a controversy about them, but Bam's performance won't be like that. In 30 years time, ask anyone about this game and they'd tell you the details of how it happened. As long as there has been video evidence and widespread media coverage, it won't be forgotten. |

Dodgers are in LA, one of the biggest markets in American sports and alot of teams were hate watching Being an LA team helps (even though game 7 was played in Toronto) but I think it has more to do with star power than anything. The Dodgers have stars. That's what LA teams do: they love the stars. The stars bring the money. While other teams and fans are busy crying about the Dodgers' spending, they'll just keep winning championships |

Free throw disparity Last night Heat 36 Lakers 23 Tonight Blazers 30 Lakers 16 Guess who won both games quite comfortably? it just shows that your opponent getting more FTs than you shouldn't stop you from winning a game. I'd rather make a team beat me from the FT line than allow them get easy layups or close midrange. This is what the Warriors were doing to the Lakers in the recent past and their fans were crying because they still didn't win |
