I learned two things from the Knicks winning the championship this year:

1. Your best players have to be healthy in the playoffs. And no team is an exception. We all assumed OKC were going to be fine without JDub but his absence hurt them more than you can imagine.

2. The league is wide open. There are 8-12 teams than can literally win it all next year if they just put one or two things together.

Haven’t curry and IT proved that already?
Toh. There's a myth that only all-time great small guards can lead their team to a championship
SportsRe: The NBA Begins by steady986(m): 12:26pm On Jun 06
Can you win with a small guard as your best player?

Na this finals we go take answer that question cool
SportsRe: The NBA Begins by steady986(m): 4:44am On May 23
The Spurs better manufacture another 41 and 24 from Wemby or else this is going to end pretty quickly.

Lol, why are you still pained? Face the Thunder that swept you na. Oh, I forgot, yall only speak loud when bullying playoff newbs. Its not even that you got swept, its how you got swept. 4th option Ajay lighting yall like a cigar grin That was more like a spanking than a sweep. But Issokay, enjoy that good cali weather, we will see yall next year!
We didn't have Luka. That's all the excuse I need cool
SportsRe: The NBA Begins by steady986(m): 8:07am On May 18
The Pistons are just the Houston Rockets of the East. They play dirty and had but have zero offense. Plus they each have a player named Thompson.

Your lakers aint shit. They are not a standard to measure OKC's abilities.
So what is the standard? The Spurs? A team that has only one regular season as evidence of how good they can be. Lol. Una go soon learn.
SportsRe: The NBA Begins by steady986(m): 9:42am On May 16
I know we're all thinking the Spurs can stop OKC, but get that thought out of your minds because it's not happening. OKC are a complete level above Spurs. And don't say Spurs dominated them in the regular season and in-season tournament, that is ages ago, and in low stakes basketball. This is the playoffs, ain't no messing around here. I watched this team hand my team basketball lessons. And I know the Lakers are a level below the Spurs, but we're a decent team too. And it didn't matter. OKC just has multiple weapons they can throw at you.

And I know there's the Wemby factor, but it won't be enough. The only thing OKC need to do is make him as inefficient as possible on the offensive end, because Wemby will be Wemby defensively. But I know OKC has ways to work around the Wemby paint presence too.

It's either going to be a bloodbath, or it's going to end very quickly. Whichever way, I still back OKC to come through.

3-0. Beatings confirmed.
Bring out the brooms gentlemen! Steady's man had better retire.
There's no shame in getting swept by the best team in basketball with your Batman out injured and your Robin playing like crap

Embiid, thank you for letting me down just in time, just like you did in fantasy playoffs lol

meanwhile, we need your commentary on the impending beatings your Lakers will collect tonight
Lol, everybody go collect ontop OKC hand no worry. That team na cheat code grin SGA has not had a single good game in this series yet dem don blow us out for all the games
SportsRe: The NBA Begins by steady986(m): 7:03am On May 09
Lol
birdman:
the same centers that play in the playoffs play in regular season na, lol. If their intensity goes higher in playoffs, why wont embiids own go higher as well. Thank God for stats, otherwise you for jus dey argue dey go grin If anything, sixers should have been punished for keeping an mvp caliber player on the bench half the season for ghost reasons, doing just enough to get into the playoffs, while other teams like celtics risk Tatum to compete
A wise man once said, "playoff basketball is a different sport from regular season basketball"

It was funny, watching Lakers think they had a chance at half time. I see this series as one that will convince Lebron the ring days are over. Even with Luka, Lakers are too old, too slow to play 48minutes of fast paced ball with OKC. Even Caruso looks slow on that team!

Lebron can average 20ppg with this crew, but it will not be enough.
Lol. First of all, the Lakers are not old. You can say LeBron is old, but that's it. Secondly, OKC don't even play a fast paced type of game. It's their aggressiveness that makes it look like They're playing fast. They're middle of the pack in terms of pace both in the playoff and in the regular season. They prefer half court basketball. They score fewer transition points than even the Lakers. And they don't even move the ball around like the Lakers do, with or without Luka. Their game is basically give SGA the ball in the half court and let him cook, while the worker bees feed on kickouts and cuts and put backs.
SportsRe: The NBA Begins by steady986(m): 4:34am On May 06
Be like this series go short o grin

Embiids ppg and rebounds were higher versus the west this year.
In the regular season, yea?
SportsRe: The NBA Begins by steady986(m): 11:20pm On May 03
birdman:
Embiid was load managed all season, so his total stats hide how good he has been this season. They saved him up for playoffs, and celtics were the unfortunate first victim
Lol, it's all about matchups. Which center on the Celtics was working Embiid? Any team he meets in the west is smacking his behind with that bum knee and back. The east doesn't have prominent big men that can work him.

I think a team in the West has to trade for Giannis to counteract the wemby defense conundrum in the paint.
A fit Giannis is probably the only player I see giving wemby problems.
A fit AD too. Guys that finish with power, intention and versatility at the rim. But sadly, AD's prime years are behind him. I hope I'm wrong though.

Bronny James outscored the entire Rockets bench in a critical playoff game. We'll be keeping that as evidence when anyone brings up the "Bronny doesn't belong in the NBA" bs
SportsRe: The NBA Begins by steady986(m): 8:12am On Apr 25
In the last 29 years, NBA teams were 1713-1 when leading by 6 or more in the last 30 seconds in a playoff game. They're now 1713-2 thanks to the Rockets grin
SportsRe: The NBA Begins by steady986(m): 4:05am On Apr 25
Missed opportunity by the Rockets there. Huge miss.
SportsRe: The NBA Begins by steady986(m):
How did Warriors fans suddenly think their team is any good? grin This thread wey we dey since October wey we no hear pim.

Anyway, if I'm the Warriors, I'm breaking this thing all up. Dem don try. The longer they postpone this thing the worse it's going to get. That Jimmy trade wasn't necessary. Your two superstars are old and injury prone. Just let it go. The rebuild will take some time but it will be worth it in the end.
