Clearly MJ and Scottie were taking it easy that season and saving their energy for the playoffs, something we see a lot of teams do today.

For the 93/94 season they added Tony Kukoc and clearly they had something to prove that they were not just MJ's team. They had a decent playoff run but lost game 7 of the second round.
