PoliticsCome What May, I’ll Remain Loyal To Buhari - Osinbajo by steadymind(op): 6:07am On Mar 23, 2015
Many Yoruba leaders from the South West, among them the All Progressives Congress (APC) Vice Presidential candidate, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, the incumbent Oyo State Governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, his counterpart from the State of Osun, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, General Alani Akinrinade (rtd), among others, Thursday converged on Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, and flayed the Federal Government for its alleged marginalisation of the region in the scheme of things.

The occasion was the Pan-Yoruba Summit of the Yoruba Assembly themed: Yoruba People: Our Aspirations and Minimum demands from the Central Government of Nigeria , held at the Parliament Building, State Secretariat, Ibadan.

The summit, which had in attendance many of the creme de la creme of Yorubaland, including Pa Ayo Fasanmi, former Ekiti state Governors Chief Niyi Adebayo, and Dr. Kayode Fayemi, former Osun State Governor Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, Chief Adeniyi Akintola (SAN), and many traditional rulers including the Olubadan of Ibadan Oba Samuel Ogunlana Odugade I (represented by the Ekerin Olubadan, High Chief ‎Eddy Oyewole), condemned the recent endorsement of President Goodluck Jonathan for second term by some groups, on the ground that he would implement the report of the National Conference recommendations, describing it as a ruse.

the senior advocate of Nigeria and leader of the delegates from Oyo to the national confab, Chief Adeniyi Akintola (SAN), said that ‎ the marginalisation of Yoruba is real. The claim by some people that once President Goodluck Jonathan is re-elected, the South West demands would be addressed and the recommendations of the confab would be implemented is a ruse. No one can implement the recommendations alone. It had to be done across the zones as represented in the National Assembly. North West/North East constitute 63% of the confab, so it cannot be implemented by fiat by the president as being claimed .

Vice presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Yemi Osinbajo, has disclosed that he will forever remain loyal to Major-General Mohammadu Buhari, stressing that Yoruba is synonymous with loyalty.

Osinbajo made this known in Ibadan, Oyo State, while speaking at the Pan-Yoruba Summit convened by General Alani Akinriande.

He noted that: “Yoruba is known for not being disloyal and that is why I am bold to say that my boss, Major-General Buhari, will always have my loyalty.

“It is also pertinent to note here that it is because of this fact that Buhari decided to pick a Yoruba man as his running mate.”

Osinbajo further noted that Yoruba remained a pacesetter among the various ethnic groups in Nigeria, positing that: “There is no doubt about the fact that what we (Yoruba) do in the political scene is always a reference point and that is why we have to come together and work towards the attainment of the desired change that will turn around the fortune of this country.”

He, therefore, called on the entire people of the South-Western part of the country to give their maximum support to APC by voting for Buhari in the March 28 presidential election, stating that the Yoruba race stood to benefit more if he emerges as the president of Nigeria.

PoliticsAPC Replies PDP Over Thisday Advert On Major Bamidele by steadymind(op): 1:30am On Mar 19, 2015
A party with no scruples

Today, we mark another epoch failure of a party of unscrupulous people who lack any sense of decency and empathy to the people they claim to want to serve. When a group of individuals in their quest for power goes all out, remove every border and boundaries of accountability and responsibility to gain and control the minds of the people through wanton lies and half-truth propagandas, we see a clear exhibit of an evil, desperate and despicable power hungry socio-paths; believers of power must be gained by any means possible.

The depth to which PDP, a party that has shown time and time again that it lacks any sense of social etiquette and decency reached an all-time low with the recent advert they placed in ‘THISDAY”newspaper of March 16th 2015 where they took a son’s loving tribute to a departed father, twist it and falsely tries to use it to score cheap political points against the person of General Muhammadu Buhari, the presidential aspirant of All Progressive Congress (APC).

Major Daniel Idowu Bamidele, a brilliant, career driven military officer was tried, found guilty of being an “Accessory After The Facts” during the Major Gideon Orka coup and was sentenced to death alongside some of Nigeria’s finest military minds including Major General Mamman Vasta by the General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida appointed military tribunal. He was executed on the 5th of March 1986.

His son Remi Bamidele took to his page on Facebook and paid a loving tribute to the memory of his father on the 5th of March 2015, PDP, the grovelling social media scavengers

that they have become, while stalking innocent Nigerians online saw this tribute and in their warped thinking decided to use it as a propaganda tool against General Muhammadu Buhari, who was nowhere near the seat of power when this unfortunate incident occurred.

Without seeking for permission from the Bamidele’s who are in mourning having recently lost their mother and had just buried her in February; PDP campaign team placed a full page advert in a national newspaper using the unfortunate and sad story of this quiet private

Nigerian family, used the photo of Major Bamidele his son uploaded and went further to write a false quote from one of the daughters.

To say that the family was devastated was an understatement. No one deserves such unkindness; here is a family who had been callously dealt with by the Nigerian State, being exploited again without any scruples by the same State for their selfish reasons.

PDP has proven time and time again that they do not care about the people; all they are interested in is power and how to remain in power, a case of taking someone’s intellectual material, twist it and use it without taking permission from the owner is clear a reflection of their socio-political ideology of “By any means necessary” and “Corruption is not stealing”philosophy. They fight dirty and will pull every and anybody down with them into the abyss of their rancid existence.

The Bamidele family have decided to sue the newspaper (and deservedly so) that carried the shameful advert and also pursue legal redress from PDP.

PDP must understand that in every sane society there is a level of decorum that defines how we live and there’s a point we should never cross and that is using other people’s misfortunes for their personal gains.

Their rabid, virulently vapid campaign communication strategies has clearly shown that PDP as a party is peopled by the very lowest of minds and intellects, men of criminal intents and pathological liars and Nigerians should be weary of every single one of them.

March 28 is a day of decision, make your choice wisely.

When our dear president and chief resident of one of the most corrupt political party upon the face of the earth stated that his political ambition is not worth a single blood of the Nigerian people, not many believed this, given that he’s a man well known for never keeping his promise.

PoliticsAPC Campaign Group Chides Jonathan Over Immigration Tragedy Compensation. by steadymind(op): 9:45am On Mar 16, 2015
The ‘I AM READY’ campaign organisation of the All Progressive Congress (APC), has chided the Federal Government for remebering to compensate relations of the Nigerian Immigration job tragedy, a year after the incident happened.

Speaking at a protest in Lekki, Lagos on Sunday to commemorate the incident, a medical doctor and member of the group, Dr. Wale Oyebanjo said the presidents action is a scam because it is belated and close to election period.

Oyebanjo explained that about 19 people died in the incident and the government belatedly decided to give them N5m each, amounting to N95m while it pockets the balance of the N6b it generated during the recruitment exercise.

“ Over N6b was paid by the job seekers and the government is paying N95m. That is a good business for them. We are here to say that we are tired of this deceit.

The People who also carried out the botched recruitment exercise have kept their jobs and were seen soldier to soldier with the President sharing out cheques to the families of the applicants who lost their lives.

That is why the volunteers came out en masse to say that on March 28, we are changing the leadership of this country. We are putting to an end corruption, unemployment and we are voting in the right set of people”, he declared.

Also, the spokesman of the group, Kingsley Binitie stated that the group in addition to commemorate the recruitment tragedy, came out with a 200 metre Banner which was held by 400 volunteers as part of their own contribution to the Buhari/Osinbajo campaign.

“It means that if there was no election March 28, the President won’t remember his own promises to the families of those who lost their loved ones during the immigration job tragedy. We heard that it was a member of the National Assembly that had the contract. Now

the National Assembly is not saying anything about it. We want change, that is why we are supporting Buhari. He will kick out corruption, indiscipline and engender good governance”, he declared.

Other speakers at the rally includes Dotu Adebayo and Ireti Bakare-Yusuf.

Adebayo who is the Social Media coordinator of the group said they came out to remind Nigerians what happened a year ago when about 19 persons lost their lives because they want to get a job in the Immigration. “Till date, nobody has been brought to book about that incident and we are here to tell the government that we remembered exactly what happened and to commiserate with those who lost their loved ones.

“If you recall, a certain amount of money was given to them a year after. What happened all these while? Is it because election is at the corner? In fact, we are ready for change in this country”, he stated.

Bakare-Yusuf commended the group for campaigning for change and urged everyone to be part of it.
“The president is campaigning all over the country in the recent times trying to galvanise votes. But it was in some of the cities that he is visiting that some of the graduates died a year ago and the minister hasn’t lost his job, there was no sort of redress until a day ago. Just like the Chibok girls, the government suddenly realised they died trying to get a job and is giving them money now. First and foremost, that is a year too late; secondly, N5m is not going to feed you forever”, she said, adding that the country needs change on account of those issues.
