Pressure On Amaechi As Eight Lawmakers Join Wike’s Camp
30.05.2013, 13:29 Local
It seems like the plot to remove the Rivers State Governor Mr Rotimi Amaechi has started with a huge victory as eight members of the house of Assembly has changed camps and now loyal to the Minister of State for Education, Mr. Nyeson Wike.

This makes the amount of anti Amaechi lawmakers in the state to 13 out of 32 members

Not disturbed by the development Speaker of the House, Mr. Otelemaba Amachree, said the number of opposition members in the House, was not enough to impeach the governor

Amachree made it clear "We are aware that between five and eight lawmakers have compromised and are making moves to impeach the governor. But they don't have enough number to impeach the state governor.

"They have to impeach the Speaker first before thinking of removing the governor because he (Speaker) will not betray the governor. Mr. Speaker is never a traitor and he (Amachree) has not seen any reason why he should give up on Amaechi.

"Apart from that, those lawmakers who have compromised would have to tell the world the governor's offence, because as far as we are concerned, Governor Amaechi has not committed any impeachable offence.

He said They should come out and explain to river's state indigene's why they decided to become traitor's to the Amachi camp

Wike was before the former Chief of Staff to Amaechi, and is now the chief Anti Amachi in the state.

SportsBarca Signs Neymar From Santos by stebell(op): 1:20pm On May 26, 2013
Tito Vilanova's side have paid €28 million (£23.9m) for the highly rated Brazilian on a five-year deal - check out what skills the attacker can bring to the table!

Barcelona confirmed on Sunday that they have signed Brazil starlet Neymar from Santos.

The Selecao international turned a blind eye to Real Madrid's interest as he chose to join the Blaugrana this summer to end a transfer saga which has dragged along at a snail's pace for years.

Tito Vilanova's side have forked out an estimated €28 million (£23.9m) for the highly rated attacker on a five-year deal, with the 21-year-old set to earn around €7m (£6m) per year before bonuses and sponsorships.

But what will Barca be getting for that eight-figure lump sum? Give the video above a watch to see some of Neymar's finest tricks for Santos, where he has made his name and was deemed great enough to be nominated for the Ballon d'Or!

I love my beloved country Nigeria. Kudos to yu de youths of Northern Nigeria. Let em NEF continue to wallow in their misery of under development and iiliteracy as if it is GEJ dat caused their problems. Rather than face the problem confronting them, they're busy promoting ethnic and religious sentiments. This country is bigger than any individual or group of persons. Victory is assured in this fight for our military.
For that I say
Long live Northern Youths
Long live all Youths
Long live the Nigerian military
Long live Nigeria
Amen.

@ OP point of correction at no tym did we record any mass killings here in Niger Delta. Militants were after kidnapping for ransom, oil bunkering and pipeline sabotage to get de attn of de federal govt to "plight" as D̶̲̥̅̊ε̲̣̣̣̥γ̲̣̣̥ say. Even tho wat D̶̲̥̅̊ε̲̣̣̣̥γ̲̣̣̥ were doing was condemnable, it wasn't like wat de boko boys are doing up North. So pls don't turn tins up side down. As for de topic, well I believe he deserves to be pardon inrespective of de crime he commited. It's up to de federal govt to decide his fate dats all.

Onitsha stands still as MASSOB members protest

Nigeria Progress Watch Nigeria Progress Watch - Breaking News, information and opinion in Nigeria

ONITSHA — Commercial activities and vehicular movements were paralyzed for  hours, Tuesday, in the commercial city of Onitsha, Anambra State following a peaceful demonstration by over 1000 members of the Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Brafia, MASSOB, to rehearse their proposed June 8 sit-at-home order.

Apparently to ensure the success and active participation of all Igbo citizens at home and in diaspora during the exercise, the MASSOB members, led by their Onitsha Region 4 Administrator, Chief Arinze Igbani, stormed the commercial city at about noon to carry out the exercise which took place simultaneously in five major local government areas of Anambra State, including Idemili North, Idemili South, Onitsha North, Onitsha South and Ogbaru.

The demonstrators had as early as 8 a.m., converged on Oba, Idemili South Local Government Area, from where they touched Awada, Idemili North, Onitsha North and South and finally ended the sensitization match at Ogboefere market in Ogbaru Local Government Area of the state at about 2 p.m.

Addressing newsmen on arrival at the General Post Office along the Old Market Road, Onitsha, at noon, the leader of the group, Igbani, said the need to create awareness had become expedient in view of the ‘I don’t care’ attitude of the people, warning that whoever that flouts the order would be seen as not being a true son of the Igbo race.

He urged those wedding on the said date to postpone such as  traders, civil servants and institutions are to honour fallen Igbo heroes and those massacred in the northern parts of the country by the Boko Haram sect.

His words, ”we are here today to spread the news that on June 8, 2013 all should be at home in memory of those six Igbo traders killed by the police at Apo village Abuja.”

“Also those killed by Boko Haram and those killed and dumped at Ezu river, Amansea, are being remembered, the sit-at-home is not to honour Uwazuruike but for those Igbo killed in various circumstances”.

“Even myself was arrested and tortured by soldiers while nursing my injury at a medical home. But this is to show you that Ndigbo have been marginalized and classified as second citizen in a country in which they are part and parcel of”.

Thank God for yu my beloved broda frm de region. I tot I was de only one observing this kind of trend in Nland. Seun came up wit his new(amended) rules in de religion section thereby protecting peeps whose religion is islam. It took some bashing frm fellow Nlanders before de rule was amended to cover oda religions in de country. Now back to de subject mata. I want to beg Seun n his Mods to pls remove or hide any post or comment dat seems to potray de office of de president or de president himself in bad lite. Its not gud for our generation to be doing dat. I've observed dat once it has to do wit Ijaws, de Mods allow de discussion to go on but other tribes they either warn yu or u're ban. We de Ijaws can neva be intimidated again. Neither do we fear any foe.
