You need to be a member of ACCA before you can start the conversion, specifically a member in good standing. As an affiliate you cannot take advantage of the MRA between ACCA & CPA for conversion.

Like it's confirmed here, you need to be a full member and in good standing before you can start the conversion process. While you can apply from outside Canada, upon meeting all requirements, I learnt that such application can only be submitted through CPA British Columbia. That's if applying from Nigeria, before landing in Canada.

Hello Cosdam1,

I sent you a DM. I'd like to hear from you please. A quick question please, when you say "It's a 1 bedroom...", I'm assuming there would be 2 contributors including yourself, hope each person have their own (separate) room?

Many thanks.

Cosdam1:
Hi people, there is a beautiful bright basement suite available. It’s a 1 Bedroom with dining & living area. It has a separate (side) entrance and parking for 1 car. The living area has a Sofa & coffee table. There is a dining table with chairs. The bedroom has a queen-sized mattress. The bathroom is head over shower. The suite is semi furnished- Fridge, Kitchenette with two burner stove (no Oven), microwave, basic dishes, pots/pan and access to laundry.
This basement suite is situated in South West Calgary. There are 2 CT train stations nearby (5 and 10 minutes’ walk), with a couple of bus stops littered around. The Westbrook Mall (housing Walmart, Dollarama, Family Doctor among other Stores and food outlets) and Nicholls (Public) Library are also nearby. There are also a couple of Banks (RBC, Scotia & TD) in the vicinity. Calgary Police Service, Fire Department and a Registry are less than 5 mins away.
This is available for a monthly contribution of CAD 800 inclusive of the following amenities (Internet, water, heating, electricity).
Please note that smoking (of any kind) and pets are not allowed.
The place is available now. If interested, kindly contact me

@ olalekan9320, Dessdess & Cannymum.

God bless you for your contributions on the Nursing path and the rich enlightenment.

Asking for my wife, who has 2 diplomas (General Nursing & Paediatric Nursing) here in Nigeria. Please, are there schools in Calgary where RN can be pursued in THREE (3) YEARS. Your suggestions is greatly appreciated.

Many thanks

olalekan9320:

That's true, but RN could also be two years or with an extra year to make up for some courses

@ oyukuwife

I hope someone would be able to give you a direct advice, because my response does not advice a particular stand. My opinion points to the fact that you would still have to indicate you have applied for a visa before (whether a successful or unsuccessful attempt). While creating Express Entry profile, this question would be asked and it is most advisable to state things as they really are.

I do hope much more experience folks, advice you ASAP. However, I believe that the fact that you had your study visa application denied, does not affect your express entry/PR application in any way, negatively.

All the best.

oyukuwife:
Helli house. Please I need professional advice from you all. I had applied for masters last year and got denied. Now my eca and Ielts will be ready next week and I want to enter the pool. Do you advice I create another account or I use the previous account I used to apply for a study permit that was refused?
Please someone should answer me

Hello SunshineD1

Below update is not good at all. Especially the part in bold print since it affect most immigrants travelling from Nigeria. I have checked Pearson Airport's website but saw no mention of this. Please can you share the source of this info and how one can track if there is any update/changes.

100% foods will be banned from March 1st onwards for all flights.( carry on or in luggage by bags as well.)

Thank you.

SunshineD1:
*Latest Pearson Airport news*:

- Flights *to and fro* from China, Japan, Phillipines, North Korea or South Korea is cancelled for next 15 days.

- Flight might gets delay for passenger coming via UK to Canada due to strict health checking on all UK airports.

- After the plane is landed on toronto airport it may take almost 1- 2 hours for pasenger to come outside of gate due to health check ups.

- If you are travelling for any International flights please arrive airport before 4 hours (for your medical check ups and all scanning processes)

- 100% foods will be banned from March 1st onwards for all flights.( carry on or in luggage by bags as well.)

People landing around then should note o. What will we eat nah. Which kind virus come wan pour sand sand for immigrants garri cry

Hi, ladystone

Although I'm not a Calgary yet but let me try contribute to your enquiry based on guidance I have received from wonderful elders/seniors.

I would suggest you consider Calgary South West/Downtown first for ease of movement/getting public transport to place you may want to go as a newcomer. South East possibly your second best but it depends - some place there are far too.

Calgary North West is not really advisable for a newcomer as it's a new, though fast developing area and it might not be that easy getting public transport to places you need to be.

Calgary North East - nothing to say about this except that I once read that some neighbourhoods there are particularly notorious in a negative sense and newcomers moving around at night in those neighbourhoods?

NB: Experienced Calgarians, please correct me, if any wrong notion in this post

ladystone:

Hi hayor2014,

Your posts has been helpful to me.

I would like to connect with you. I trust it would be a blessing.

Can PM you please?

I would be writing CIA Part 3 in a couple of days. Also hope to write CISA as soon as possiblypracticable once I land in mid-March.

Many thanks.

There is no truth to be told here, Canada is a place to work hard and hustle, else...you will SUFFER grin grin grin grin
on a serious note, you simply need a lot of research done, What do you and your partner wanna do when you get here ?
what qualifications do you have ?
what qualifications are accepted here for the job you intend to do ?
Are you willing to become a student again ?
Are there certifications you need to take..
On the short run, thing might be tough but you simply need to keep your eyes on the prize.
I advise friends to start writing their professional exams(CIA and CISA for Auditing) from naija ( a mistake i made), interestingly no one has listened to me so far, I am presently working part time and writing my exams also.
is it easy ?......HELL NO, but i have my eyes on the prize and will do whatever i need to to get the certifications.( 2 stages down....2 to go)

In summary, No 2 stories are the same, luck/destinies are different , the opportunities here are so much and they defy age, gender or religious barriers.
It all depends on you.

My understanding of this is that if you did not have to pass any qualifying exams before you could get the designation then you are not qualified. For example, if ICAN and ACCA had an MRA the way CPA has an MRA with ACCA, you would no qualify. But if you had to write a qualifying exam before getting the designation, then you are good to go.

Many thanks for your response @XX01

My understanding is that that clause isn't applicable to you as you wrote a few ACCA papers and not 100% exemption.

Many thanks for your response @hayoakins

Great people,

Please help with answer to this question

Many thanks

stevesegkay:

Good day guys

For those that did ACCA - CPA ALBERTA Conversion, please help clarify the requirements below which I found on CPA ALBERTA's website. It says, to qualify under the MRA with ACCA, it must be that:

"You did not receive your ACCA designation by virtue of a third party agreement ACCA has with any other accounting bodies"

How does this apply to exemptions received by virtue of ICAN qualification please?

Thanks in advance for clarification

Hello good people

I would be landing with my wife in Calgary by mid-March. I'd like to join any WhatsApp group of people in Calgary where we can get help and guide with settling down. Please PM me if any is available/open that I can join.

Also, while Airbnb remains an option, please I don't mind exploring shared accommodation that we can settle for, right before landing in mid--March. Any one, with helpful information, please reach out to me.

Many thanks

Dear Seniors and Experienced Folks,

My wife and I got our passports back with COPR this week. I am confused about airline to book to Saskatoon this December for next year - February/March. I am thinking Ethiopian Air or Egypt Air? I really wish to get a good deal in terms of cost and reliability. Please advice.

Many thanks.

Dear Family,

What do you think about landing in Montreal. I found flights with Royal Air Maroc going to Montreal, quite cheap. Meanwhile, I final destination is Saskatoon, SK.

Hope there would be no issue with landing in Montreal, especially language and also ease of connecting to a flight to Saskatoon.

Thank you.
