With the furore generated by the MTV Base’s controversial list of ‘Top 20 Nigerian songs of all time just dying down across social media platforms, the urban cable TV channel has released another list naming the 10 hottest rappers on the African continent. The list features four Nigerian acts while four South African acts and one Ghanaian act also made the new MTV Base list which, like the previous one, is not likely to pass without some controversy.

Popular Ghana-born actress Emmanuella Gift Mensah aka Ella Mensah has opened up on her rumoured affair with popular Nigerian singer Oritse Femi.

The actress in a new interview with The Entertainer opens up on what attracted her to Nigeria.

Obviously, you are engaged to a Nigerian.

That’s very correct.

Do you share the popular notion among women that virtually all men are unreliable?

The truth is that not all people cheat and I am talking about both men and women; it is individualistic. There are always reasons why people cheat. For instance, someone may tell you that he or she has issues in their relationship but because they are not ready to quit, they do something to keep themselves happy. In the same vain, people always have a reason for staying in a relationship. However, every man has a weakness and it is the same with women. Whatever we have in men, there is its equivalent in women. But in life, once you make a choice, you should be ready to face the consequences; good or bad. Every man is a man and every woman is a woman. It all depends on how you play your cards. As an actress, I travel a lot. So, even if I date a Ghana­ian or a Nigerian, I’m always somewhere outside home and away from my man. Would I ask my man to follow me everywhere? That is where trust comes into play.

So, what at­tracted you to this Nigerian?

Basically my man is unique. Though every man is unique but some are more unique than others; he is a spe­cial man. But as for why I chose a Nigerian man instead of a Ghanaian, you never can predict who you will fall in love with. I had a Ghanaian boyfriend, we broke up and now I’m getting married to a Nigerian. Whether he is a Ghanaian, Congolese, Sudanese or Nigerian doesn’t really matter. What matters is that I love him and I am comfort­able with him. My man is romantic and hot; what more could a woman want in a man?

Would it be safe to de­scribe your current visit as business turned into pleasure since your man is a Nigerian?

That is what it is. I flew here to work. But my man’s presence has made things a lot less stressful. I have done a couple of jobs and more are on the way.

President Buhari & Vice President Fashola Will Defeat Jonathan & PDP

Ayo Akande ,a popular leader of APC in Lagos has suggested a winning strategy for All Progressive Congress Party in the upcoming 2015 Presidential election.

In a statement made on Thursday, Akande said Buhari vs Fashola ticket is the best option for APC
“A Buhari/Fashola combination stands to offer lot of advantages.

We all know Buhari as a man of good virtue, who did not corruptly enrich himself. The APC stands a better chance to defeat President Goodluck Jonathan who has been endorsed as the sole candidate of the PDP for the 2015 presidential election.

“A Buhari/Fashola team would give the Peoples Democratic Party a good fight in the presidential elections.

“The antecedents of Buhari as a military head of state in terms of war against indiscipline and corruption and Fashola’s self-discipline and accountability would give the APC the long-sought exalted seat of the president of the country.”
“Fashola will make a good president but if the presidency is zoned to the North, then he will make a perfect running mate to Buhari,”.


Irregardless of his political party affiliation, Nigerians will vote overwhelmingly for Fashola if he’s permitted to run as either VP or President.

The man has changed Lagos state for the better.

Peter Okoye of PSquare is gradually heading towards staying solo.

The father of two who hit a mega endorsement deal as the ambassador of Olympic last week has been having issues with his other brothers since their reported split few months back.

Peter Okoye has started his own record label, PClassic. The announcement was made earlier in the week.

According to sources close to Peter Okoye, he is currently shopping for talented artistes to sign to his new record label.

Awilo Logomba and other upcoming artists have reportedly appended their signatures under pClassic records label.

Though Peter Okoye still perform with his twin brother, Paul as PSquare but their relationship is not as cordial as it used to be. Peter and Paul Okoye are said to be working toward splitting.

Nollywood is well known for sexual harassment and now popular actor Emeka Ike is fully determined to expose the rot in the entertainment industry.

Though he is not taking direct aim at them, Emeka Ike has listed their names as members of Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN taking Nollywood laws into their own hands.

He made this known while chatting with journalists during a political award ceremony that held in Lagos recently .

Emeka Ike said Ibinabo and some big boys have succeeded in pulling Nollywood down.

In his own words:

“There are five people who have taken the laws of Nigerian movie industry into their hands. They are Emma Ogugua, Murphy Stephen, Sunny McDon, Okey Bakassi and Ifeanyi Dikeh.

These five people registered Actors Guild of Nigeria as their personal business. No other individual can come in.

My first concern is to clean up Nollywood, clean up AGN.
Every Nigerian youth want to act movies now, what future are we leaving for them? Where are they going to write their names? The two bedroom in Surulere where they would ask you to come and grace their beds before they give you roles? Where they would make you join a gay group or lesbian group before they talk to you?

Nollywood has gotten so bad that you must either strip and grace their beds or join the gay or lesbian group to belong.

The people at the helm of affairs are the ones killing Nollywood.

Some of us the well-known actors don’t even know their rights. I dare say it again, they don’t. Nobody can come out to challenge me.

We built this industry with pain. Those who are at the helm of affairs now, people don’t even know them in the movies. They just came in and messed everything up. Ibinabo has been acting as the president of AGN for years now, but with her case as an ex-convict, do you have any moral justification to recognize her as the president? The court case is still on and the war continues. That wasn’t the industry I founded.


My daughter will not to go into that industry tomorrow and they would say she must sleep with one of them to get a role. Neither would my son be a part of Nollywood that is full of immoralities.”
