- how much do you spend each month on living costs?

Vicjustice: Are you going to the UK and you don't know what you'd be doing there?
Well, you need to make a research on areas of interest and to set up a schedule of activities since you'd also be asked what you intend to do in your spare time.
Use www.google.com and learn more about the UK because, Buckingham Palace is not enough place to see during your entire visit

Vicjustice: Are you really sure that you are required to provide an itinerary? I'm asking this because, it is not a necessity for a visitor visa application. It used to be a prerequisite for tourists visa applicants that are unable to show sufficient funds to cover an individual journey: in those days, it was possible to book economy class tickets (that would be valid even for 4 weeks) without paying nor depositing money for it, but now-a-days, no Airline allows a booking to be unpaid for for more than 72 hours and some even don't allow more than 24 hours

Thanks for responding, the reason for my question is to know. The proper way to. Answer the question "what will you do in the uk" cos one of the reason I was refused was that I didn't state what I will be doing in the UK.

hello justwise, I recently applied for a 6months uk tourist visa and was denied, reason being that i did not give enough detail about what I will be doing during the 2 weeks I wanted to spend in the uk(reason for travel was summer vacation). and also the credits and balances on my account statement does not commensurate with my monthly income of 400k per month.
I am self employed, into equipment leasing(mack trucks) and haulage. I sent in the following documents.
1. My company documents including Certificate of incorporation, and tax clearance for 2012
2. Age declaration ( am 27yrs)
3. Board letter from my company, signed by a director listed in the company docs
4. fully paid hotel reservation for the two weeks I intended to stay coming up to £1340
5. my personal savings acct statement with bal 1.7m naira( not lump sum payment )
6. my company acct statement which am sole signatory( although I did not state this) with balance 2m naira also not lump sum payments
The jobs I do I receive mostly cash and cheque payments.
I want to know if I still have a chance if I apply again, or perhaps I could reduce my monthly income to somtin like 250k permonth, besides I dont understand how to give more details about what I will be doing during the two weeks period I wish to stay.
Finally I will like to know if this denial will affect my chances of getting a schengen visa, perhaps I can go to france for the holiday. if this UK people wont give me visa.

Vicjustice: Yes, it would be wise to make the visa officer understand your position in the company, and that will explain your financial circumstance in clearer picture: so, it won't be a bad idea if you take that measure.
As for the other reason, I recommend that you use google to learn more about the place you'd be visiting and know what happens in where

FEMACK NIG: I was in your choose some few month back when i wanted to apply for a visit visa to the Uk, I even used a Domicillary account because i save all the money i make from my trucking business in my Dom account..., i was denied the first time and the next time i tried.. i got the visa.. I didnt even use CAC..I know the following advise will be helpful..

1 Get pictures of you and your trucks

2 Include the truck document and reciept in your application

3 get a lagos state personal income tax clearance

4 dont change the 400k you already stated..(in the additional information box..Write about the fact that haulage is capital intensive and you need to spend alot of money on Tyres, servicing, pay your drivers and also mantian your truck to keep it runing)

5 Include an hotel reservation

6 itinerary of your trip

7 Bank statement

8 CAC

I think you are good to go with prayers...best of luck

Vicjustice: I didn't say anything to suggest that "there is no point putting in another alplication", I only thought I should warn you of the danger involved in giving misinformation or conflicting declaration: it could earn you the dreaded 10 years ban if the visa officer judges that you are deceptive.
You may apply again any time you wish, but be careful in your manipulating attempts.
And to answer your other question, the Schengen visa application is independent of the UK visa application, but however, your UK visa refusal may negatively affect your chance because, the effect of the UK refusal now makes it very easy to refuse you and very hard to approve your application: but that doesn't mean that you will be refused as well by a Schengen embassy
