Rbae: Hello Mama's, I've been crying since morning. My son will be 3months old in few days time. 7 days after his birth, we noticed his nose was blocked. My neighbor asked us to drop silverbird on that soft spot pulsating on his head. Later, she said we should mix one small cap (that of the silverbird with his baby oil). MIL apply it on his head 2ce daily. I later discovered few weeks ago that the oil haa burnt is scalp badly. I've stopped using it but I'm not happy cos he has burns and its peeling anytime I comb d hair. He use to have a full, black long hair but now d hair is cutting. The most scary one is the soft spot.. It's peeling too. I'm taking him to d hospital on Thursday cos we have an appointment then. Please, what can I apply on his scalp for now. Please.
I've made mistakes as a FTM, I won't allow anyone dictate what to do to my baby once I give birth to my second baby. Pls go to the hospital now!! |

pateffy: Please ma don't give him only breast milk o cause he will find it hard to eat later abeg cause my baby will be 9month this Saturday and he was exactly like this there will be a particular food he like even if he doesn't eat much, my baby as at 7 month was very frustrating he never eats even if he eats he will take just 4spoons and if you force him like trying to give him more with spoon he might vomit the small one he has taken in so just find something he likes eating . my baby likes pap and didn't like cereal but with time now he is taking cereal cerelac mixed fruit, just be consistent even if is a little with time your baby will cooperate. As in ehnnn, u are in the spirit.. He throws up everything if I try to force him... Guess I'll try all the normal food we eat just that the 3 or 4 spoons he takes from it won't fill him... Therein lies my frustration...so nipples are sore n cracked. I'm yet to find what he truly likes sha but I will keep experimenting |

JGracious: Good evening mama.
What complimentary foods have you tried introducing to him? You have to keep varying it till you discover what he enjoys.
Tombrown from zaynie, AS foods, babygrubz foods have had good recommendations from mamas here
fruit purees, mashed potato etc is usually a hit with babies too.
The quantity they usually eat at his age is not so much during each meal so just take it gradually.
Start him on formula milk if you havent so he doesnt depend solely on BM.
For teething pains, give him calpol paracetamol. Thank you mama, we started friso gold n nan2 at 6 months... He took them although with plenty fight up till now 7 months n he stopped the nan totally.... The friso we still manage but with plenty resistance so I introduced millet pap n custard... Took initially too n then not so much there after.... Mumsy thinks its teething that's making him select food now... I think so too but he goes to crèche so breastmilk is not readily available... The mashed potato, guess I didn't make it well cos he didn't eat more than 3 hands.... Same with Avocado n banana.... Maybe I should be patient? Or buy the foods you suggested... I don't know how to send a pm to the vendors but pls if you are reading this, I'd like to purchase from u Thanks |

comtem2011: depending on the age. cos it happens to toddlers more like 2yrs and above. I will say its too much play and unrestlessness during the day, but at same time, I will carry the child, pray and plead the blood of Jesus.
if its a baby, its because they want to suck at that time. if they don't cry, how will you know baby is awake to suck? Lol... He's 7months in a few days n he sleeps immediately after the shout/cry... I guess it's nothing then |

tabithaola: Hello love, leaving diaper on him for hours isn't good please.1/2 is about 5-6 hours if I'm right. That's a No No biko. Poo or no poo, tell them to change his diaper once its 3 hours at most. Anyways, that's my style. Leaving diaper for too long is the culprit and not the brand you use. My essence uses molfix and it hardly leaks. Also, she once had diaper rashes until I was told this and it worked like a magic. Please, tell his caregivers to change him often. OK ma, thank you. I'll tell them to change it more often. The leaks are not as a result of the long time, once he poos, it comes out thru the side or the top n stains his clothes n it can be so annnnoyyyying....im using blue angel n so far, no issues. Ve also started the aveeno soap n cream as advised, I hope it clears in a week or 2. |

kasany: always use vaseline on an before changing the diaper. It helps keep the urine from penetrating into the skin thereby causing irritation Thanks ma |

Ayauche: Stmema: if its not coming late, plz try mupiderm though its about 2050 but works well and quickly too. Ds had it too infact worse that even the doctors at the health centre couldnt say what it was, it was a pharmacist that prescribed it but with the price i told her it had better work cos i already tried a lot and it did. Thank U ma |

Giddyperson: Like someone already said, you need to change him more often. Maybe he pees a lot. Send him to creche with 3-4 diapers daily and complain/report whenever he comes home with a diaper rash cuz it's definitely something they're doing wrong. Let them clean his bum with wipes at each diaper change whether poo or pee. Also buy wipes that's mild on the skin. I use angel wipes and its good. I use Nigerian pampers and molfix for my son, and no issues at all. I've just been having issues with GB's molfix cuz there's so much fake size 5 everywhere.
Mine was the reverse. Sudocreme bleached GB but baby tribotan didn't. I def think you must have used too much of the tribotan. Use only a thin amount at a time no matter how bad the rashes are and stop as soon as the rashes clear. Thanks ma... I'll tell them at the crèche.... Rahses have cleared so I will revert back to vaselin n hope the aveeno I just got clears the colorations on his chest n back... Thanks so much ma |

JGracious: Considering the bolded, it suggests to me that his diaper gets soooo filled up with urine before you deem it fit to change.
If my assumption is right then there's no way the diaper wont leak no matter the quality of diaper you are using.
Again, urine can equally irritate the skin if it stays too long so please endeavour to check his diaper often at least every 3-4hrs and change it if necessary.
Too much heat sef can cause rashes. Endeavour to also air his bum for like 30mins when you reach home. Thanks ma... I'll do more airing now... It's poo that leaks not urine n no I don't let it soak too much bfr I change, once I check n it's wet, I change... I'll talk to the crèche minders... Thanks ma |
Health › Re: NEW BORN BABIES! Are U A New Mum? Then Lets Discuss Babies Here!!!!! by Stmema: 9:59pm On May 17, 2019 |
Giddyperson: He shouldn't be having constant diaper rash, especially if he's home with you all day. What diaper are you using, make sure it's not fake, or just try a different brand. Also change him as often as you should and as soon as he poops. You can use sudocreme for diaper rash if its working for you but I don't advise turning it to your daily barrier creme. Switch back to vaseline once his bum is clear. Well, he goes to crèche till about 5/6 when we get home n he changes his Diaper around 1/2 only if he didn't poo... All brands I've tried in terms of Diaper has failed me due to leaking ranging from molfix to huggues to asda little angel, then one Chinese one like that that's written in Chinese..Next time I go, I'll ask for the blue little angel, maybe that one won't leak.... Who knows if its not the plenty Diaper that's causing the rash.....when the tribotan clears the rash, it leaves mark, now his bumbum is full of patches of colors like the chest... That's y I'm reasoning sudocreme.... If u have recommendations for Diaper that doesn't leak, it would be appreciated greatly so I can buy all when I go out tmr... Thank you ma |

Giddyperson: Yeah aveeno has cream too. GB had the same thing when she was a few months old and I really suspect Sudocreme to have caused it but I was also using Cussons then so who knows.
About the hair, just let it go at least he's a boy, stronger one would grow. Thank you ma.... But I can keep using the sudocreme for the Diaper right? Cos he keeps having Diaper rashes even with the vaseline or powder we use.... |
Health › Re: NEW BORN BABIES! Are U A New Mum? Then Lets Discuss Babies Here!!!!! by Stmema: 11:08am On May 17, 2019 |
Giddyperson: I won't be surprised if cussons is the culprit, and please don't add sudocreme. Buy aveeno soap, it's expensive but it would clear it in a few weeks. OK, I'll go for the aveeno then but does it have cream as well cos I was told to leave oils(coconut oil) n use a proper cream... Also his hair is pulling so badly, I know he's a boy but he's almost bald... Shebi I should just ignore ni abi I can do anything about it?? Tanchu ma |

You need to eliminate a few things you use for him to see if there will be a difference OK ma... I'll do that |
