If u have a spare room, you can dedicate that room for his play.tty to keep it clean because at that age, there is little you can do about putting things in the mouth.wash his hands often.disinfect whatever he puts in his mouth.it can be tiring but that is the price we have to pay. I don't know about the othe4 question other Sabi mamas will chook mouth
Thanks, I hope I can use hand sanitizer on him as in he's not too small.,incase he puts his hand in his mouth, is it safe?

The first nothing much you can do, just up your hygiene

Biting or slapping is a no-no, sternly correct him when he does it (2 finger light smacking/eye contact while you say STOP firmly, please don't shout but be firm)

Or bite him back when he bites
OK ma... I'll do that n see how it goes... Thanks for the response... Tho I like the biting back idea cos that's what his dad does but I haven't been able to.. I'll just shove him till he forgets... I'll try the light Spanking now... Thanks

It's common place with many babies of his age

what you can do is begin to work out a routine to encourage him to do so. For eg

1. When he wakes up don't turn on the light or engage in any "talking". Use torchlight if need be.
2. Check diapers and give milk or water.
3. As long as he can't fall off the sleeping area let him be until he sleeps off. You may back him as well
4. You can try increasing the quantity of his dinner/supper or giving an extra bottle of milk when he's in bed
I don't turn on the light, just put breast in his mouth n he sleeps after a while... Any attempt to change Diaper na vigil o... Thnx for the tips though... He doesnt take milk from bottle at all n I tried water, tea n co but he didn't take while I was trying to wean him... Will kuku ship him to my folks to wean next week

Happy sallah to you all... Hope we are enjoying our holidays with our LOs....pls I want to know if it's normal for a baby of almost 10 months to not still be sleeping through the night at this stage.... He's not slept thru the night more than 2 times since he was born... Is it normal or do I need to see a paed..... Thanks mama... He eats before sleeping o so its not hunger that's waking him up... He wakes minimum of two times

Congrats teamie
Please stop the girdle, I wonder how you manage to stay comfortable with it cause I feel uncomfortable when I wear something tight, Las Las you can't hide it for so long cause they'll still find out in the end.
Heard breastfeeding cause contractions too, don't know how true.
Yea yea, I heard about the contractions but my doc said it was ok to keep breastfeeding... He also okayed the girdle thingy... I'll stop soon sha... Just trying to get used to it

Girdle could be the reason, I don't know why you are using it but you need to stop it right away it is not safe for the baby...
It's cos my tommy didn't go back cos of the cs... So I'm used to the girdle by now, stopping it now, people woll just be looking at me wan kain... Besides, I asked the doctor n he said it was OK to keep wearing it as long as I'm comfortable... Don't know how true though.. These doctors can be controversial in their opinions...

I saw blood last night though, went this morning n baby is fine.. All is well... Dont know what I can do to ensure It doesn't happen again... I have a nursing 9month old who I plan to wean at 10 months... Could that be why? Or could it be the coflin syrup I took? Like I'm just wondering n worrying... What can I use to treat cough then so my baby doesn't have it? I'm already showing so I'm using girdle cos of world pipo in my office... Could that also be the reason... Pls don't judge me, u won't understsnd... I'm patiently waiting for some sort of response n solace here...

You really do not need to wean because you are preggos. You can continue except you can't meet up with the physical and mental demands or medical reasons, then it is fine. I weaned my 11months old with just water o although the first night was tough, i fed solids twice and ended up backing him cheesy cheesy. I did this cos when my sister wanted to wean my niece, she used juices and the likes and this girl would wake twice every night, it became an habit cos of juice. My son wakes once, takes his water and back to sleep. Sometimes he doesn't wake at all.

And yes he is young for tea and juices. I would suggest water too or keep trying his formula.l
I'm weaning cos doc said to, not like there's a particular reason sha.. Gave tea last night, he dinnor take... I will kukuma give water then... Tnx for responding

8 months post CS, isn't it too early? My doctor advised at least 15 months post CS. But then, people are different and the way our body heal is different too. No, breastfeeding won't affect the pregnancy.
I feel it's early too but it totally wasnt planned.... I forgot to take my pills n boom,im here... Removing it isn't an option that's y I'm seeking advise on my best alternatives

Your baby's weight is ideal. He is around same weight percentile (97th) since birth. You should only be worried if there's a drastic change in percentile.

calm down momma your baby is doing just fine. He isn't over weight for a baby that was born big. He actually needs as much as he can get now. By the time he starts walking and getting more active he will shed a little. Even though my 3rd baby didn't shed she's 20 months old now and weighs 21kg she weighed 4.7kg at birth but she's so active, healthy and bubbly. Also check the genes, dad, mom, grand parents are they on the big side? My 2 other babies born big, were big as toddlers but they've shed all the baby fat now with schooling etc
Thank you ma... I appreciate your response, we are not really on the big side so I guess he'll shed it
