So based on your reference to Romans 13; 1 to 4, you are now confirming that Dr. Olukoya is actually following Apostle Paul and not our Lord Jesus Christ right? If not how can you be using a statement made by Apostle Paul to defend Olukoya's actions in aparent contradiction to what Christ said?

FreeStuffsNG:
You're clearly ignorant. Go and read Romans 13; 1 to 4 and you will know that MFM and Dr. Olukọya are perfectly in order. They cannot ignore and keep silent when crimes are committed and they are aware but did nothing instead of reporting it to authorities that God established to rule over the state. That's like participating in the crime and Bible warns against it in Eph 4:11.

The alternative is taking the law into your own hands.

Everyone who has a lifestyle in public and private that cannot stand scrutiny should not practice Christianity. You cannot hide under Christianity to commit crimes or blackmail your Christian victims not to report you to authorities. If crime is committed, report even if the authorities act on it slowly. It's a sin not to report crimes.

The case will be decided by the court based on facts. If the criminal defendant committed a crime, she will be convicted.

I guess the FIRS expects that it is the responsibility of the Investor to keep adequate records of his/her CSCS statements, buy and sell contract notes etc to support his/her position.

Exactly!
So after selling the shares, how would govt distinguish or identify reinvestment from withdrawal? Once the shares are sold, the units leave your NGX/CSCS portfolio and funds are warehoused with the trading broker who may reinvest(buy other shares) or transfer cash to the investor bank account
Will govt connect their IT systems to monitor when the investor reinvests (buys other shares) either through the same broker, or through the same CHN number, or when the broker transfers the proceeds of shares sold to investor's bank account?
What happens if the investor uses or transfers his shares to a different trading CHN account, different broker etc
No side chick can snatch your husband without your husband’s consent and your bad attitude.

If your husband is not ready and willing to let go of the side chick then cursing the side chick will only endear your hubby to her the more.

Communicate this discrepancies to them. If they don't review your salary upwards, forget the job. Desperation doesn't pay anyone on the long run.
From the poster's statement, they only discussed an amount and that does not mean that the interviewer accepted or agreed to what he asked for.

Usually after the candidate's exit, interviewer's would review and discuss the session amongst themselves to see if the candidate's performance justifies the salary he/she asked for.

So if his performance is below standard, they may reject him outrightly or offer him what they think is commensurate with his experience and capability.

Christianity EtcSix (6) Lies Used To Discredit Christmas by Strategical(op): 11:59pm On Dec 25, 2023
*6 LIES USED TO DISCREDIT CHRISTMAS*

Over the years some people and/or Christian sets have inundated us with arguments against the celebration of Christmas.

Here are counter arguments i came across on a christian blog (can't recollect the name) that refutes and invalidates the usual reasons that suggest that Christmas celebration is not biblical.

*1st* : "Celebrate Saturnalia Day"

- A lie. Saturnalia began on December 17 and ended on December 23.

It was never associated with december 25.

*2nd* : "Celebrate the Birth of the God Tammuz"

- A lie. Tammuz was a deity associated with summer, when between June and July devotees (mostly women) mourned his death.

By the way, the Hebrew calendar (yes, the biblical), has a month in its namesake, Tammuz, which falls precisely in June and July.

*3rd* : "Celebrate the Sun God"

- A lie. It is true that in the year 274 AD, the emperor Marcus Aurelio decreed December 25 as the day of the "sol invictus".

However, Christians, since the late second century, have celebrated the birth of Christ on December 25.

We have extensive literary evidence for this.

In fact, the Roman emperor probably did this because he saw the Roman religion decline as the Christian faith was expanding (and this despite brutal Roman persecutions).

So, in a political maneuver, he tried to kidnap an important Christian date and make it pagan. It didn't work out!

The invictus sun party never worked.

But here we are, 1800 years later and still celebrating Jesus Christ the Lord!.

*4th* "The druids began the Christmas tree tradition"

- A lie. The tree custom dates back to Bonifacio in the early 8th century, the missionary who first brought faith to the fearful Vikings.

The missionary, seeing that the Germanic tribes revered the famous "Thor's oak," took an axe and cut it himself, to prove that nature is not a god.

So I would point out a tree of perennial leaf, as a symbol of Christ, who is the tree of eternal life.

In terms of lighting the Christmas tree, we go back to the former Augustinian monk Martin Luther, the German reformer, who, upon seeing the starry night, returned home and placed candles on the tree as a testimony to the majesty of God's creation.

*5th* : "Jesus wasn't born on December 25, it's all a pagan junk"

- A lie. No one knows for absolutely certain when Jesus was born.

However, the December 25th date was not chosen at random.

There is a reasonable justification for some of the Church Fathers to choose this date..

If you take the fact that Zacharias was offering incense in the Holy Place of the Temple in Jerusalem during the great holy feast of Yom Kippur, which falls in late September, early October (Luke 1:9), then this means that John the Baptist was born 9 months later, between June and July.

Remember, Scripture clearly tells us that John the Baptist was conceived 6 months before Jesus (Luke 1:26,36), so 6 months after June and July places Jesus' birth in late December or early January, which coincides exactly with the tradition of East and West:

West celebrates it on December 25 and East on January 7.

*6th* : "The Bible does not command us to celebrate the birth of Christ"

- Above all else my friend, have peace.

We really don't understand your fascination with conflict. But you are wrong again.

The wizards of the east celebrated the birth of Christ (Matthew 2:11),

The shepherds of the region celebrated the birth of Jesus (Luke 2:17),

Simeon, moved by the Holy Spirit, celebrated the birth of the Christ (Luke 2:28-32),

The prophetess Anne, celebrated the birthof the Lord (Luke 2:38) and ...

All the heavenly hosts sang with joy at the birth of Christ (Luke 2:14).

Of course, there is enough BIBLICAL precedent to take time out of the busy year and celebrate this incredible event that cut history in half: the incarnation and birth of the Son of GOD.

Please my dear friend and brother don't listen to myths and legends, which abound in the corrupt and intriguing mind.

Don't you want to celebrate Christmas because your conscience won't let you?

Well don't celebrate.

*But please, stop perpetuating lies and slander against your brothers who do it, and do not bear false witness.*

Remember, lying and condemning others based on those lies are really grave sins.

*Merry Christmas !!!!!!!*

See what God said through Prophet Isaiah with regards that there is no favouritism but by our deeds.

1
This is what the LORD says: "Maintain justice and do what is right, for my salvation is close at hand and my righteousness will soon be revealed.
2
Blessed is the man who does this, the man who holds it fast, who keeps the Sabbath without desecrating it, and keeps his hand from doing any evil."

3
Let no foreigner who has bound himself to the LORD say, "The LORD will surely exclude me from his people." And let not any eunuch complain, "I am only a dry tree."
4
For this is what the LORD says: "To the eunuchs who keep my Sabbaths, who choose what pleases me and hold fast to my covenant--
5
to them I will give within my temple and its walls a memorial and a name better than sons and daughters; I will give them an everlasting name that will not be cut off.
6
And foreigners who bind themselves to the LORD to serve him, to love the name of the LORD, and to worship him, all who keep the Sabbath without desecrating it and who hold fast to my covenant--
7
these I will bring to my holy mountain and give them joy in my house of prayer. Their burnt offerings and sacrifices will be accepted on my altar; for my house will be called a house of prayer for all nations.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

John 2:2 And He Himself is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world.

Jesus died for all mankind. This is what the scriptures teach will happen to all mankind…

1 Cor 15:22 "as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive.

1 Tim 2:4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
All you have quoted are things said about Christ by others like Paul, John etc while you refused to believe the things or statements the bible recorded to have been said by Christ Himself while on earth about the determinant of judgement.

Pray for understanding and learn to rate the words of Christ above what others said about or on behalf of him.

you terribly misunderstood that there is time for everything and that what qualifies people to heaven as at the time Jesus was yet to be crucified is totally different from what qualifies people to heaven today that Jesus has been crucified.

Long after the crucifixion, Paul mentioned

Romans 3:28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.

And that stands in Christianity today. It wasn't so at the time before Jesus crucifixion that is why you can afford to quote those scriptures you quoted without this understanding
This your thought pattern is awkwardly interesting.

So you meant whatever Paul said is now superior to the words said by Christ himself?

How does that sound in your ears

Have you taken time to read what Christ said about this issue of basis for judgement or qualification for entering the kingdom of God in the book of Revelation? That judgement is going to be according to your deeds?

I am sure you are aware that the revelation was made well after Paul's writings and after Christ's ascension.

Endeavour to study to understand and not be a mere follower of what your Pastor told you.

Christianity EtcRe: Is Righteousness Only In The Heart? by Strategical: 11:02pm On Oct 30, 2022
Read your bible to understand and stop depending on what others said. The following people and many more were described as righteous persons in the bible:

Noah (Gen 6:9)(Gen 7:1),
Lot (2 Pet 2:cool
Joseph of Arimathea (Lk 23:50)
Abel (Heb 11:4)(Mt 23:35)(1 Jn 3:12)
Joseph (Mt 1:19)
John The Baptist (Mk 6:20)
Zecharias (Lk 1:5-6)
Elisabeth (Lk 1:5-6)
Simeon (Lk 2:25)
Daniel, and Job were said by God to have “righteousness” (Heb: “tsdaqah“) (Ezek 14:14,20).

Similarly, in the New Testament, in (Heb 11:32-33), Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, and the prophets are said to have “wrought righteousness” (NASB: “performed acts of righteousness”)

So if your Son, Daughter, Brother or Sister was among those massacred, you would have been very happy to be there just 2 years after the event right? Nonsense.

'Gathering of Eye service people' .

Sowore- A failed Journalist, a worst activist and a disaster of a politician. Looking for attention as usual, anything to be in the news and enjoy his few minutes of media spotlight.

Mr macaroni - i dont even know where to even place this one. Anywhere belle-face attention seeking boy. You see him running his mouth and fingers all over twitter jumping on anything political upsetting issues looking for validations from ipob miscreants, while they suck his Di*k continously. They will soon turn on you one day for sure. Children of hate dont like someone for long, they are only enagaging in the fake love because of their tribesman political unachievable fantasy of ruling our country, the country they once called a zoo, not even ruling Biafra. Their envious and hatefilled soul will always tend to showcase itself, no matter how they surpress it.

The only real person in their midst there is Falz, just so unfortunate he has been successfully misled into engaging in Political sponsored Anti-government activities, cheerlead by Children of hate.

Tinubu, a man not in power can order the killings of protesters. But Peter Pandora, a serving Gorvernor didnt ordered the detainment of Nasiru El'rufai using DSS, right? Silly hypocrites

Jobs/VacanciesRe: I Have Yet To Meet A CEO Who Considers The Accounting Implications by Strategical: 3:42pm On Oct 12, 2022
Your observations are very correct and that is why MSMEs last for few years and fizzle out very quickly here. Business decisions by entrepreneurs are mostly made without recourse to financial information and metrics generated from the operations of the entity but largely on the whims, moods, experiences of the owner(s) or experiences of others etc which in turn are based on trial and errors.

Secondly, most accountants lack the training (from school or work experience) to appreciate the importance of practical application of accounting knowledge in real life in their working places especially using Cost Accounting, Management Accounting, Financial Accounting, Tax Accounting and FIRS.

However in most cases the fault is not of the accountants but the faulty understanding of the role of accountants by business owners. This applies to the case of "DaBogu" above. Consider a scenario where a chartered accountant is engaged and s/he is the only person in the accounts department that has to analyse, classify, record and file each and every financial transactions of the entity. Also don't forget that the owner engages the same accountant to go deposit cheques or cash at the bank and many other unrelated assignments that end up taking up the time.

S/he is bogged down for the whole day trying to do the bookkeeping and figure out how to post or record some other items properly and this becomes a routine exercise repeatedly done day-in-day-out. With this scenario it becomes almost impossible for the chartered accountant to have time to think clearly about turning the financial data into useful information to aid decision making for the management like:

1. When and whether to buy new machineries or embark on capital projects
2. When and whether to recruit additional staff
3. When and whether to buy additional inventories
4. When and whether to expand operations
5. When, where and whether to source for additional funding for the business and what type of financing to explore
6. Whether to take on a new project, contract etc or not
7. What price to charge for the product or service
8. When or whether to change (increase or decrease) product or service prices and by how much
9. When, whether or where to open new branches

The above and many other business decisions require the impute of accountants before they are finalised.

Meanwhile in reality, there should have been someone else handling the bookkeeping tasks while the chartered accountant handles preparation of the periodic management reports and related analysis of the financials in a way to help management decision making exercises.

Rubyjade:
I have yet to meet a CEO who considers the accounting implications of a transaction while making business choices.

I mean one that will ask "what does IFRS or GAAP say about this transaction?"

Frankly, IFRS and GAAP matter little in making critical business decisions.

This is especially true for small business owners who do not have accounting ability or accountability partners (or board members).

They believe the accountants will figure it out.

As a result, the accountants are left to pick up the slack.

That is fine if everything goes according to plan. Otherwise, two serious issues arise:

1. The accountant may not fully understand the transaction and must be creative to record it. (In small businesses, accountants are typically afraid to press owners to explain transactions, while owners are often certain that they do not have to justify anything.)

2. During the recording process, problems that should have been fixed prior to execution are often detected. It is too late to stop the bleeding.

These two scenarios are common in unstructured SMEs.

Owners and stewards make these decisions with the best of intentions, regardless of the consequences.

The next steps:

I do not have all the answers, but here are some insights:

1. Business owners should trust the specialists (including accountants) they have employed to carry out their responsibilities competently and, more importantly, with integrity.

2. Accountants should not simply sit back and wait for orders. They must show capability, competence, initiative, and business savvy. Their supervisors will consider them as financial counsellors rather than bookkeepers as a result.

Not easy to implement but worth it.
