https://i.imgflip.com/g3qd1.jpg Ah, just happened to spot this nice thread winner01. So much logic, so much truthfulness! Some will still read and prefer to deny/ignore it here while their conscience/insecurity heavily disturbs them in private. Forgive me for the mentions I have missed so far. I think my NL break's been long enough already. You just reminded me of a certain ![]() |
naijadeyhia:Lol, as the babaplenty1 of NL, I hereby punch that man. https://67.media.tumblr.com/fb20b9e7c9141059c4d279ce0ffa13b2/tumblr_nrlnmy4IO91te1nu9o1_400.gif |
raphieMontella:"negative force", "negative side", lmao what the hell are you saying? Darkness is the absence of light, Cold is the absence of heat, Evil is simply the absence of good. How is it directly coming from the creator? lol Very flawed logic you have there. (Try to misquote/remove Isiah 45:7 from its context if you dare, lemme embarrass you here again; I know your tactics). naijadeyhia, felixomor, see this our guy oh ![]() He loses an argument in one thread and quickly runs to another to post strange off-topic stuff. I wonder how "negative force" and "negative side" is even significant to the topic. |
naijadeyhia:My brother in the Lord, I humbly accept the honourable title of babaplenty1 ![]() I initially joined NL to be a troll (you can check my first 2 threads sef), but hey, on the internet you can become anything you want to be, so why be something stupid? There are too many mad men running loose in the wild (e.g. in fact you know the person), and I'll always be here to lecture them and save the masses from their stupidity. Whenever you notice their usual rigmarole talks, do not hesitate to mention and call out the strawman in their arguments. ![]() https://www.quantumgambitz.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/handshake-300x178.jpg |
felixomor:Lol believe me, for the case of that crazy man, poor English should be the least of his problems. The least! ![]() |
Ah ah, argument I thought had ended. Raphiemontella so after I embarrassed you and exposed your unintelligence to the world, you still had guts to come up with a reply ![]() Well the more you fill your posts with petty insults and ramblings, you give me more contents in your post to cross out and delete. (I already told you I'm too mature for all that) raphieMontella:"You can't even spell properly and type intelligible sentences. Like WtH!?" Lol If this simple quote made no sense to your head, then you definitely aren't smart at all. Before you say I'm insulting you, check for the meaning of "smart" and see whether someone who didn't understand that simple statement can be regarded as a smart person, then you can reflect upon your shame when you're done. raphieMontella:Even in a court of law, "he who asserts must prove". If you assert that whatever part of the Bible says something, then post everything and explain to us what it's saying. You don't just remove a portion of the scripture from its context and leave me with the burden of proof to post everything and still lecture you like a pupil at the same time. Thats not how arguments work bro. And when I say you're uneducated you say I'm insulting you lol. raphieMontella:"If your brother, the son of your mother, or your son or daughter, or the wife of your bosom, or your friend who is as your own life entices you secretly, saying, Let us go and serve other gods--gods you have not known, you nor your fathers," (Where are the free thinkers here nau? )Stoning people who want to drag you to pagan doctrines to death...still on this? Removing this from context, again. FYI, that period, the Israelites were surrounded by pagan tribes with hardcore rituals - örgies, human sacrifice; usually infants were sacrificed etc. And that's just few of them; many parts of the Old Testament described other heinous pagan practices like that. Anybody enticing someone to leave God who rescued them from years of slavery and join those gods will be subjecting someone's generation to those kind of problems. The Israelites proved to be disobedient from time to time; these were the same Israelites that started worshipping other gods even before Moses could come down from the mountain with the Ten Commandments. They needed a harsh deterrent to avoid them from shifting over and subjecting themselves to the chaos caused by those pagans. Yet again, I've explained why that law does not apply to Christians, so what are you saying? And more importantly, there are no free thinkers mentioned in that passage sef, as you claimed... (I hope you even know who a freethinker is) So raphiemonteller I'm still waiting for you to show me: I. Where the Bible said we should kill free thinkers. then you also show me... II. Where the Bible said we should ignore the fact that Christ cancelled out the act of killing people so that we can still go ahead and kill those free thinkers. Do this, then I will agree with you that Christianity supports the killing of free thinkers. Until then, I can't take you seriously. raphieMontella:"And that whoever would not seek the Lord, the God of Israel, should be put to death, whether young or old, man or woman." In fact, you just threw away the context behind this one and twisted everything. This is your worst attempt. Why didn't you post the other parts? You pointed to only verse 13 ![]() https://imgur.com/PpVJDvI.jpg https://imgur.com/24cLm0a.jpg FYI, 2nd Chronicles tells how the king of Judah, the people of Judah and Benjamin, had strayed away from God but later turned back to Him in times of distress. Then they gathered together and made a covenant saying that they, as individuals and as a group, are committing to seek and follow God and if they don’t follow through on the covenant, they should be put to death. A group of people said this, not God. So why do you lie like this? What are you saying? Lol, oh poor raphiemontella are you not ashamed of getting caught with these dirty tactics? Can't you win an argument fairly without resorting to lies? Or did you just read and you couldn't understand? When will you get tired of this foolishness? ![]() raphieMontella:The moment Jesus said "whoever is sinless, throw the first stone" and when he said we should not procure judgement on one another, he had already amended every law that had to do with us personally sanctioning others. Don't stone anybody to death, don't kill anybody for doing [insert sin here], forget "an eye for an eye" etc. In fact, the harsh parts of the laws of Moses were done away with after Jesus died on the cross. (Colossians 2:13-14) With all this into consideration, how could a sensible person say Christianity supports barbaric laws, even when the salvation is staring at you right in the face if you just read and understand the Bible well. You've proven that you don't even understand Christianity in the first place. raphieMontella:lol Your parents, on the other hand, must be very ashamed... raphieMontella:Guy...(I will lecture you because I know your own case of illiteracy is very serious) Comprehension is a basic subject in primary school; one is expected to use the information given to him in a literary passage to determine facts and answer questions. Well even if something's not written there, it should be hinted. Now you've already realised that that rubbish you said wasn't written in the Bible. So now where in that Bible passage was it even hinted that the reason Jesus forgave that adulteress is because they caught only her and they didn't catch the other man? raphieMontella:So Jesus did not require the Pharisses who brought her to still forgive her shey? You're not making sense bro. raphieMontella:Kindly explain how I implied that Jesus supports adultery. This is how you've been twisting and misquoting upandan raphieMontella:Lol! This is all you can say after you read a detailed paragraph that proved you wrong so very embarrassingly! ![]() raphieMontella:Misconceptions, wrong interpretations, trifles and plethora of passages that you're not smart enough to understand. By the way I don't need theories, I need concrete and undeniable facts. None of which I expect someone like you to lecture me on. Don't bring pointless arguments into this topic. raphieMontella:And yet I'm the one explaining science to you. ![]() raphieMontella:insight/understanding/intuition/natural ability etc etc. you're just backpedaling around semantics and synonyms that don't even help your argument in any way. The "insight" sef that you were arguing that it's only in the amp version, why are you now using it to defend yourself? Have you seen how confused you are? Outside the amp version that you so hate sef, it was written "do not lean" on your understanding. Don't lean or depend on your own understanding; on the conclusions based primarily on your own perspective. No scientist does this. I've already explained to you why science disagrees with you, dunno why you're still arguing blindly. There were scientific people at that time sef; even apostle Luke was a physician. Did Jesus ever shout at them to repent of their scientific ways? Wisdom and understanding is also preached in the Bible sef, so if you think that verse meant that we shouldn't reason and understand anything then you don't even know what you were reading; you just grabbed it out of context as usual.raphieMontella:Oga you cannot spell, and I am pointing it out to you, is it a crime? After deviating from the topic yourself, you're now preaching to me not to deviate. HypocriteraphieMontella:Corela-what? How is all your rubbish talk now related to the topic? All you've done so far is throw a fit of rage and tantrum because you've had nothing to contribute. Abegi! ![]() raphieMontella:Lol Oh please, I'm intellectually better than you... Clearly ![]() You've displayed too much illiteracy here already. My advice for you sir... https://imgur.com/2NRLgfJ.jpg Btw, if you even dare reply this, better be prepared to contribute to the topic this time. Your rubbish is too much. |
Lovexme:My brother I'm going to join in this your "Phew" oh. The tension was too much ![]() |
naijadeyhia:Hahaha! @bolded I don't care if he admits anything. He is dumb and uneducated; it's good to school people like him once in a while. |
EyeHateGod:Oya run run run ![]() |
Lol, I wonder the certain part of my post that pained you. Unlike you, I'm too mature for all your insults and ad hominem arguments (you should be ashamed, cos I'm very sure I'm way much younger than you) so I deleted majority of your post that weren't worth a response, as well as the ones that didn't make sense. Now lemme school you...raphieMontella:You can't even spell properly and type intelligible sentences. Like WtH!? ![]() raphieMontella:Lol Why should I make my post unnecessarily lengthy? You said Deut 17 supported that Christians should kill free thinkers, my post was the part that mentioned stoning people to death; I've read the rest and it said nothing about killing free thinkers. I'm still waiting for you to show me where the Bible said I should kill free thinkers. I'm begging you to prove me wrong. raphieMontella:Who said it is useless? Is it because I said "Old law - New Law"? You must be very uneducated. Laws dont just change like that. Have you ever heard of a constitutional amendment? Old laws are not completely disposed of, they are changed. Old laws that haven't been touched remain the same (that's why we still quote them), the ones that have been touched are changed (e.g stoning people to death) E.g. Old Law, "[insert sin here] is wrong, stone him to death." New Law, "[insert sin here] is wrong, whoever is perfect throw the first stone." Thus nobody is perfect/sinless, don't judge or stone people to death. What is so hard to understand there? raphieMontella:Ad hominem bullshit. Lol What are you interpreting? You've shown everybody here that you don't understand anything. raphieMontella:@bolded Lol, you're not intelligent at all. If they gave you that chapter as a comprehension passage in school and they asked you "Why did Jesus forgive the adulteress?", so this is how you would've failed. Where did they say Jesus forgave her because it is only the woman that they caught? So if the man we're there, Jesus would've allowed them to be stoned shey? ![]() Secondly, we have the power to forgive each other too. ![]() Or are u now saying jesus supports adultery?Lol Where did you see me type this?? Jesus doesn't support adultery, and he definitely doesn't support stoning people to death. **facepalm**He used the "measurable or systematic principles" of science and nature created by God to make a telephone. Scientists and Inventors study and use already-existing natural principles to work, they don't create them. Those rules and principles they're using were already there before they even founded and named them. E.g. The fact that the sum of the squares of opposite and adjacent sides is equal to the square of the hypotenuse already existed before Pythagoras even studied and named it. If you're telling me I can just wake up one morning and create my own "Strawman's Law" from nowhere and it will now be valid for people to use them in schools and labs, then you are a very big fool. Lol ![]() raphieMontella:Oh please, spare me all this rubbish. I have showed you the definition of the science sef that you are arguing blindly about, and it disagrees with you, so please stop making yourself look more foolish than you actually are. ![]() raphieMontella:https://imgur.com/W8cxLsE.jpg Lol so what are you saying? raphieMontella:"Science uses insight" doesn't mean "Science = insight", philosophy uses insight too but it's not a determinant of scientific principles. Lol, guy you're not smart! ![]() raphieMontella:Christianity* (it's only one "y" ![]() And more importantly, what does all this have to do with what atheists achieved in the middle ages? ![]() Mr. raphiemontella, you can't spell, you cant understand my posts, you cant comprehend simple Bible passages that children learn in primary and secondary schools, and you resort to petty insults whenever someone schools you... Hahahaha...you are officially the most unintelligent person I have met on this forum. ![]() Gerrarahere mehn! |
naijadeyhia:Lol bro you dey take style mention me 2 times. issorite ![]() |
EyeHateGod: Strawman: ![]() |
raphieMontella:Deut 17:5 "Then you shall bring forth to your town's gates that man or woman who has done that wicked thing and you shall stone that man or woman to death." Why are you posting an Old Testament punishment for me? Do you know what a testament is? FYI synonym of "testament" is "law". Look at Old Testament and New Testament this way...Old Law - New Law. Apply your common sense here, now what should that tell you? ![]() People wanted to stone an adulteress to death, what did Jesus tell them? Eh? Christianity is following the teaching of Christ, even if it tells us what the OT regards as being wrong, for God sake, we're not meant to stone anyone to death! That is not Christianity.Btw, I'm still waiting for you to show me where the Bible said we should kill free thinkers. Free thinkers are not even hinted in that Bible passage. You've already changed the wording of your argument. raphieMontella:Proverbs 3:5 "Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding." Dictionary definition of science: A particular discipline or branch of learning, especially one dealing with measurable or systematic principles rather than intuition or natural ability. So what are you saying?? You see your life? Science doesn't even rely solely on our own insight and intuition, science has rules and principles for crying out loud. LOL, how could someone be filled with so much misconceptions? Damn ![]() |
raphieMontella:Please show me just one scripture for each: 1. When Christianity said we should decimate and attack free thinkers 2. When the Bible said we shouldn't be scientific. |
Ranchhoddas:*facepalm* Still off-topic. But look at this: KingEbukasBlog:Problems that people attribute to Christianity are caused by authorities who used the religion as a pretext for their evil deeds, people who misinterpreted Christianity, and Christians who did not follow principles of Christianity in causing those problems. Yes they are corrupt Christians who did all those, but their actions were not assented by Christianity itself. Those problems were caused by [bad] Christians, not Christianity. I really hope you get my point now. And btw, this does not still tell us what atheists achieved in the middle ages. |
Ranchhoddas:Lol don't even go there it won't help your argument at all. Cos FYI, theism has many achievements: Christianity, for example improved hospitals in the Middle Ages, churches were the first orphanages, most of the world's greatest universities were started for Christian purposes, the capitalist system used round the world today can be linked to Christian sources, Christianity was used to civilise many barbarian and primitive ancient cultures, the Church is the largest single provider of healthcare and education in the world etc etc etc etc. guy there are many! Do you know that the Universal Declaration of Human Rights were based on Christian principles? Jurgen Habermas (an atheist) stated that, "the individual morality of conscience, human rights and democracy, is the direct legacy of the Judaic ethic of justice and the Christian ethic of love." If you want to narrow it down to community level; there was even a thread here on NL some weeks ago showing a Christian group helping poor and homeless people. These are achievements of Christianity. Many Christians who have achieved something were motivated by Christianity, so you can link their achievements to Christianity itself. This is not the case for atheists and their own achievements. You can't say Bill Gates created Microsoft because of atheism, so his achievement is not atheism's achievement (if he's even an atheist sef, I heard he's agnostic, but sha that was just an example). I'm sure Buddhism has accomplished a lot in different parts of Asia throughout the course of history. Other religions must've benefited their area of practice in one way or another. ETC. Theism has many achievements. I won't even go into detail because this my post sef is off topic. KingEbukasBlog is not even asking for what atheism has achieved (that is a harder question), he's asking for what atheists have achieved. So you can simply discuss that with him. |
Abayor7:If I knock your head, your brain will cheat you ![]() |
KingEbukasBlog:Bro the number of off-topic points that have been brought into this thread is amazing. ![]() |
oglalasioux:Galileo, Faraday and Maxwell were Christians nau, how does this relate to the topic? How does this tell us what atheists achieved in the middle ages? ![]() modified: Wait oh! Even Copernicus, Kepler and Isaac Newton were Christians/theists sef. LOL guy behave yourself oh! Behave yourself and stay on topic! oglalasioux:Christianity does not support the act of decimating or attacking anybody for free thinking. Stop using the people who pervert religion to meet their own purposes to define Christianity. |
KingEbukasBlog the topic should be changed to "What Prominent Achievements Were Made By Atheism During The Medieval Age?" Reason: People can have individual achievements, as long as it wasn't motivated by atheism, whoever they list here would not matter. What an atheist has achieved is somehow different from what atheism has achieved, what a Christian has achieved is somehow different from what Christianity has achieved...etc I dunno if you catch my drift. ![]() |
bobo65:When a movie has a very serious and gritty atmosphere, it is "dark". Many DC movies have been like that. It's OK for some sha, like Batman for example, but DC took it too far. Imagine Green Lantern, a very jovial character, his movie back in 2011 was so dark and serious - like WtH Well by the looks of things, DC has started to correct that - see Suicide Squad movie, and the Justice League trailer. They don't look so dark. ![]() But I'm worried about the Wonder Woman movie. I don't know how they can manage to brighten up a movie centred on Greek mythology and World War II. I just hope they surprise us. |
Promking: madgoat: Babysho: Cannonleo: I dare anybody to beat my highscore
|
KingEbukaNaija:Don't be surprised bro; they have no qualms with cheating. But the truth (and common sense) will prevail indeed. KingEbukaNaija:lol it's aiit bro. I'm always here to kick cheap tactics like this to the curb where they belong. [img]http://america.pink/images/3/8/8/9/7/2/0/en/3-salute.jpg[/img] |
KingEbukaNaija:Smh. They can't win this conflict while playing by the rules, so they resort to dirty tactics. If it's not impersonation, it's arguing with misconceptions, or arguing with strawmen (trust me, I've seen all their strawmen arguments; I was mentioned ), or just being aggressive etc. |
Hahahahahahaha! I saw the thread and the way people took it seriously, and I just laughed. Section most active: Religion (only), created 3 controversial (?) topics already, only about 10 posts on religion section. Online for only about 2hrs 50mins yet he's already observed "most religions arguments on here". And again, the coincidental username - Truthman... He even announced his "deconversion" on Jun 21, mentioned his fellow atheist brethren, but it didn't get attention. He now did proper announcement on Aug 16th. ![]() That "Atheist to Jesus" thread was a slap to their ego. Truthman83's thread looked like some smart guy's attempt in patting his fellow atheists on the shoulder. "Create a new account, pose as a Christian for a while, denounce Christianity when the time is right." - nice strategy *claps* ![]() The guy never post again since, after all, he has finished his mission. I'm not going to point fingers sha. But whoever is behind this, you know yourself. Sha, I just dey watch this film like... https://thumbs.dreamstime.com/x/guy-d-glasses-crossed-arms-young-hispanic-man-wearing-jeans-shirt-tv-lcd-shutter-standing-smiling-against-white-58308584.jpg |
SlimAdenike: MJBOLT:You guys must've seen the trailer by now. The setting is around WWII era. I'd have preferred Wonder Woman in a modern timeline sha, but it looks promising either way. I just fear the Greek mythology + World War II combo may turn out to be a very dark storyline. |
KingEbukasBlog:@redded part, Exactly why I said "empty hubris". It's only intellectual superiority they can try to boast of, and even that is very laughable lol. Believing they're more intelligent and knowledgeable than every one of us including people of distinguished minds who are religious (e.g. Ben Carson, Charles Babbage, Galileo etc), and even those who denied atheism (e.g. Einstein) is a foolhardy joke. Anyway, there are plenty of deeper reasons why they'd scoff at evidence and information that proves them wrong - pride, anger/pain, fear, ignorance, denial etc. my guy, there are plenty reasons - but well that's their own delusion. ![]() For the sake of staying on topic I will just address the bolded, and you've made a very good point there. People's perspectives cannot disprove fact/reality. |
KingEbukasBlog:How far? ![]() |
KingEbukasBlog:Aye! "People fear what they do not understand, and hate what they can't conquer." Science has limits. Too bad anything that happens to transcend these limits, "they" quickly give it derogatory terms (e.g. superstition) to make it look silly and irrelevant. But Ebuka we all know the secret reason behind this sha; imagine the implications this would mean to their lives if they found out it were all true; they would have to buy a new book (turning a new leaf won't be enough lol) for some areas of their lifestyle, they would realise they've been wrong regarding a lot of things. They fear all this well well.Plus they can't conquer religion [as much as they've tried], so they hate it. I don't see why when a group of well-intentioned intellectuals are out there working their āss off; delving into the study and discovery of these abnormal stuff on valid grounds, yet there's another group of people somewhere else trying to convince themselves that it's all irrational just to protect their empty hubris. sǝʌlǝsɹnoʎ ʍouʞ no⅄ ˙oʇ sǝᴉlddɐ ʇᴉ ɯoɥʍ ʎluo oʇ sǝᴉlddɐ sᴉɥʇ :ǝʇoN 'ƃuᴉsᴉlɐɹǝuǝƃ ɟo ǝɯ ǝsnɔɔɐ noʎ ǝɹoɟǝq |
