Christianity EtcRe: UN: Taking Children To Church Violates Their Human Rights by Strawman:
Lol People calm down..This UN Report doesn't carry any weight at all. It was only a section of the report sef, and it just stated that they are concerned, not that they're going to take any action. They can't do anything in fact; in Britain, religious education is a constitutional right.

Thank God the report has already been backlashed:

From Tory MPs. David Burrowes, the Enfield Southgate MP who led a Tory rebellion over changes to Sunday trading laws, said it was “ludicrous and mad”.

“The collective act of worship is not an indoctrination exercise. It is recognising and respecting the Christian heritage of the country and giving people an opportunity to reflect before the beginning of the day,” he told The Telegraph.

“The UN should spend more time doing its main job of preventing war and genocide rather than poking its nose in other countries’ classrooms. We can respectfully put those kind of reports in the bin where they belong.”
This quote is the most beautiful part of this matter.

So my people, continue taking your children to church in peace smiley

Science/TechnologyRe: Let's Talk About Extraterrestrials, Aliens, UFOs: Are They Real? by Strawman:
Mehn, I really really HATE to be the guy to say this, but most of these points have already been debunked. I was actually fascinated when I read this and went back to research on all of it. I came late sha, so I'll just point this out.

Mr Explorers, Buzz Aldrin himself later debunked that first point.

https://m.reddit.com/r/IAmA/comments/2a5vg8/i_am_buzz_aldrin_engineer_american_astronaut_and/

Or you can read his statement here:

"On Apollo 11 in route to the Moon, I observed a light out the window that appeared to be moving alongside us. There were many explanations of what that could be, other than another spacecraft from another country or another world - it was either the rocket we had separated from, or the 4 panels that moved away when we extracted the lander from the rocket and we were nose to nose with the two spacecraft. So in the close vicinity, moving away, were 4 panels. And i feel absolutely convinced that we were looking at the sun reflected off of one of these panels. Which one? I don't know. So technically, the definition could be "unidentified."

We well understood exactly what that was. And when we returned, we debriefed and explained exactly what we had observed. And I felt that this had been distributed to the outside world, the outside audience, and apparently it wasn't, and so many years later, I had the time in an interview to disclose these observations, on another country's television network. And the UFO people in the United States were very very angry with me, that i had not given them the information. it was not an alien. Extraordinary observations require extraordinary evidence. That's what Carl Sagan said. There may be aliens in our Milky Way galaxy, and there are billions of other galaxies. The probability is almost CERTAIN that there is life somewhere in space. It was not that remarkable, that special, that unusual, that life here on earth evolved gradually, slowly, to where we are today.

But the distances involved in where some evidence of life may be, they may be hundreds of light years away."

Also, the "Wow Signal" was later reported to be caused by a natural phenomenon and not any aliens trying to reach us.

I can't type much on the rest, since I'm not even sure anyone is reading this. If you have specific questions/issues with what I typed..ask.

I'm not saying there are no aliens sha (I'm also not saying that there are aliens). I'm just saying that I researched on those points OP pointed out (some I did even before now, some I did when I read this thread) and most of them have already been debunked. And the ones that haven't been debunked are not certainties, they are hypothesis.

Christianity EtcRe: I'm Losing My Girlfriend Because Of My Disbelief... Am I Wrong? by Strawman: 9:09pm On Jul 07, 2016
Mr. Blaqsmith I would like to point out that letting her go is for the best. If you intended on marrying her in the future, just think about the loads of problems a home divided between atheism and Christianity could face from time to time. You people would have different perspectives on things, different morals etc. Think about how it would affect the children who may be divided on whether taking mummy or daddy's side. At worst, it could lead to a broken home in future.

Choosing to become an atheist was your own decision, you knew what you were getting yourself into; so you should be willing to face the problems that come with it already...just like this one.

Find an atheist girlfriend or someone who doesn't care about her spouse's religion.

Yeah that could be the title, but some would say that's not even news worthy; cos it's a regular thing for police to arraign suspected burglars. A cat reportedly turning into a girl is worth more attention.

OK God changed her destiny(unchangeable) ? it's either am mad or you are. until you people redefine that term or stop using it I will never agree with something that contradicts itself.

simple English na him dey do una. change and unchangeable cannot work together. simple
Lol now I know I've been discussing with a confused man cheesy

God is unchangeable, destiny isn't. Start using your sense please lol
Christianity EtcRe: Am I Destined To Sin As God Already Knows What I Will Do Next? by Strawman: 3:16pm On Jun 19, 2016
Owliver:
you are still not making sense. let me ask you. that destiny god saw who created it. where did it come from? it's already fixed. by who? if it's already fixed then it's not a free will.
Oga you have just blocked your mind from understanding, that is all that's happening here. A lay man would understand that explanation. Your own decisions, is anybody forcing you? huh If nobody is forcing you, is it not your own free will? God being omniscient simply knows the outcome of what you will do, but it is up to you choose for yourself. A man named Jabez in the Bible changed his destiny by calling on God.

You keep saying that "you people say", "you people want to", but you have not even told us where in the Bible they implied that people are predestined to go to hell. You're just addressing a misconception.
Christianity EtcRe: Am I Destined To Sin As God Already Knows What I Will Do Next? by Strawman: 2:22pm On Jun 19, 2016
topdee:
Logically, what you wrote is rather ambiguous and exaggerated. How will you say knowing something will happen doesn't mean something else can't happen? Instead, if the knowledge you have about something has prerequisites, it means what you knew initially was mere hypothesis. Our God is prefect and knows everything, like someone said on this thread, God is life, God is love, He knows everyone's actions before we act, and if you claim we have freewill and God knows our actions before time, how is that freewill? It rather means we were destined to make such actions. Look at the story of Judas iscariot, his actions were inevitable.

Believe what you want to believe, all I know is life's ideology is equivocal. Logically, without sentiments, without religious bigotry, everyone knows the difference between good and bad, the most important thing is spending one's life being a good person.
Don't get me wrong. I meant that when we have different options, God already knows exactly what we will eventually choose, but it doesn't mean that we couldn't have chosen the other options. We have the natural ability to have chosen any of them (I.e. free will), but God (being omniscient) knows exactly where decisions made out of our free will will take us. I don't know if you get what I'm saying; I believe it's basically the same thing you're saying but we got off somewhere.
Christianity EtcRe: Am I Destined To Sin As God Already Knows What I Will Do Next? by Strawman: 12:43pm On Jun 19, 2016
Owliver:
but you people say god sees the future(unchangeable destiny). if the future(unchangeable destiny) is already seen by god then does that mean our own free will surpasses that of god vision? if so, then I can say there was no vision. since what is supposedly seen never happened. if it never happened then it was never seen.
@bolded, is that what the Bible says? People have made many misconceptions on many issues without comprehending things. I've not read the Bible from cover page to back page, but so far I've not seen any scripture that implies people are predestined to go to heaven or hell.

Logically, God knowing what we are going to do does not mean that we can't do something else. It means that God simply knows what we have chosen to do ahead of time, out of our own free will. I can keep a bowl of ice cream and a vegetable on the floor, and I definitely know which one my 5 yr old nephew would pick, but that doesn't stop him from being able to make a different choice. I know what he's going to do, doesn't mean he's not able to do something else...I just know that he will do it.
