Welcome back to my epistle on tithing, in case you missed the first epistle titled "why Jesus pay tax and didn't pay Tithe" you can click this link, https://www.nairaland.com/7792998/why-did-jesus-pay-tax
where I talked about tithing as a scriptural instruction, just like every other instruction from the old testament that has been followed and practiced by the new testament generation and even to this age. I also explained why Jesus didn't give tithes and what prompted him to pay tax, at the same time, I disagreed with the popular opinion that tithing was an old testament doctrine because such claim lack both scriptural references and logical explanation to ascertain why tithe shouldn't be practice in the new testament while several others instructions from the same old testament are still in practices till today, in order to wrap up this epistle on the practices of tithe, we shall be looking at some critical areas both in the old and new testament to proves the validity of giving tithe, what tithes is all about and what is the benefit of giving tithe.
GOD'S WORD IS MYSTERY
The world of God is full of mysteries and these mysteries look foolish to ordinary people, especially those who are constantly giving the word of God different interpretation from their canal mind, I have seen many of these people who doesn't go to church or seat where God's word is been preach, trying to teach people who are always at the feet of Jesus on how the word of God should be practice, I don't want to sound too religious on this piece because those whom I am writing this epistle to are not religious people that are already grown in the faith but to those people who are trying to mix canality with purity, thus I will be using both logical and disruptive hypothesis as a tool to analyse scriptural fact to back the practices of giving tithe and the benefits therein.
WHAT IS TITHE?
Recall that before tithe was mentioned in the book of Malachi (3:10), it was also mentioned in different books in the old testament, Leviticus 27:30 explained tithe plainly thus, “All tithes from the land, whether the seed from the ground or the fruit from the tree, are the Lord's, they are holy to the Lord” (NRSV), now the question is this, what then is Tithe? The definition of tithe comes from Hebrew text, which simply means "a tenth." Nothing more and Nothing less, just a tenth (as in 10). Here is the logical hypothesis, why does God didn't ask for twentieth or thirtieth, why just tenth? In order to disrupt this hypothesis, let's see tithes this way, let's say, I'm giving you hundred thousand naira as a capital to start a business and I told you, in every profit you are making, you are to give me just ten percent while you keep ninty percent to yourself, Is anything wrong with that? It is God's decision to take ten percent of all what He gave to us, the ten percent is left to God on how He choose to use it, whether God give it to the levites, pastors, Bishops or as a withholding tithe to feed the poor, it doesn't matter as far as you've given the ten percent stipulated agreement, in a logical sense, it is no longer your concern how God spend or use it.
IS TITHES GIVING IN NEW TESTAMENT?
We have gotten to the critical stage, where the understanding of tithing is been misinterpreted because of misunderstanding and ignorance of many, as a matter of fact, I have been challenged to explain the new testament view on tithing but before I proceed on this explanation, first, I will like to maintain that the word of God (scripture) is not a word of man (book), meaning that the scripture are not meant to be reading like a book but to be studied like a course, it is when you study the scripture, that is when you will understand and arrive at the true meaning of what God's word is pointing to. Secondly, I will also like to reiterate that Jesus didn't come to contradict the word of God but to fulfil it and Lastly, I am using logical and disruptive hypothesis to explain and to bring out the fact on the new testament view on tithing.
TITHE IS TOO SMALL
Now, for further insight on tithing, the new testament Church gave much more than tithe, remember that a tithe in the Old testament simply means a tenth, this also means that, there was a cap limit on the giving to God in the old testament, what everybody does is to concentrate on making sure that they didn't give less or give higher than the stipulated agreement of ten percent, so as not to attract God's anger or so. But in the new testament the cap limit was removed and gives people the opportunity to give more than ten percent, they replaced tithe giving (ten percent) to generous giving, generous in this context connote extraordinary giving, a kind of giving that has no limit, people are selling their properties to give to God, is that not more than tithe? In the old testament, King built church but in the new testament ordinary people come together and built church, in our age today only one person is building church and handed it over to a ministry, is that no more than tithe. The new testament teaching helps us to see giving as love for God (Luke 7:5-6) while the old testament makes giving look like a law that must be strictly obey. Every ten percent (10%) giving or generous giving are the same concept in nature, same idea of giving to God, it doesn't matter whether is ten, twenty or hundred percent, if anyone can see giving in this way then one will understand that both tithe and generous giving are the same thing because spiritually God receives it and it is holy to the Lord. If any pastors are misusing the tithes, condemned the pastors not the tithe, stop making tithe to look abomination or a sinful practice.

The president of Nigeria are not the same with other president in the world, the nigerian president is like a monarch in disguise, he receives first hand, undiluted information then use it for his own advantage. During Jonathan time, some folks in the North was trying to impeach him, the information got to him from someone who is even part of the meeting which happenedto be one of the military General, then Jonathan quickly and instantly restrategise.
Recall that after the election, Jonathan put a call across to Buhari to congratulate him, someting happened before that call that is not open to everybody. he has received credible information that, even if he fight, he will still loose, Jonathan look up and down, there is no hope, then he played very smart by conceded the defeat, thank God, his smartness pay him well. Let assume that Jonathan didn't receive first hand information, he would have fight dirty and shamefully lost.
The truth must be said, you see this Presidential Tribunal thing, it's just a formalities control, in the second election that retained Buhari, there were lots of glaring facts that Atiku won, I don't know maybe many of you followed up the case, in fact the way the judges are stupidly trashing atiku case out, only the intelligent people will know that something has happened behind close door before the judges start the case, I saw Atiku weeping bitterly in the court, I can't but help also to cry, not for him but for the fact the last hope that he has isn't favourable to him.
What am I trying to say is this, how the case will go or end, the president has been hinted, and if there is going to be any flaws on his side, they wil cause a delay to rectify it before the judgment day, even if it is obi or Atiku that is the president the same thing they will do, Nigeria has not reach the level of American democracy we are clamouring for, Nigeria has not openly assassinated any of her president before and you want that same democracy, ok dey play.
One of the reason why Tinubu still quiet on his critics, especially the obidients and Atikulates, is that, he is waiting for the tribunal judgement to be pass, after that obidients will see shege with double banza. And many will be lock up and forgotten in the cell, even some of the PEPT judges will also lock some of the obidients up for threat to life.
Here is the shocker, a bill will be pass shortly after the PEPT judgement, this bill will shock many people, I will not disclose that now. Any president of Nigeria always have PEPT under control. My advice to the aggrieved, is that, if you have the means, try and start to prepare your jakpa document, you can't rant in Nigeria o, try jakpa first and start ranting. Trust me Tinubu regime will not favour you but it will surely favours me.

The issues of tithing is generating lots of controversy among the Christians of now adays, while some think it is good to pay tithe, some think otherwise, backing their believe with scriptural references, at the bases of using scriptural references to justify whether tithing is important or not, many Christians are confused and lost, not knowing which to accept or to follow.

The truth is that the word of God can not contradict one another, it is the ignorance or selfishness of the people that causes the contradiction. Someone bump into my inbox recently, after I commented on a Facebook post about tithing, this person happened to be the admin of the page, he tried to contradict himself by wanting me to agree with his view about tithing, in fact he sent lots of references upon references pointing to the direction of his view, but what struck me the most, in all his arguments was this question, "why Jesus pay tax and didn't pay tithe?" I did my best by giving him the answer with the wisdom from the scripture.

I found out that many Christians are still confused and struggling to understand why Jesus didn't pay tithe but went ahead and pay tax, to understand this better, we need to divide this question into two, and ask ourselves, what is tax and what is tithe, are they the same thing? This person that came into my inbox, cited Matt 17:24-25 to show that Jesus paid tax, but this person made a mistake, because the key to understand mystery is WHY not WHAT, Jesus paid tax, that's WHAT Jesus did, WHY Jesus did that? This is one thing that this person didn't know or probably trying to hide it, then I pointed to the same Matt 17 he cited earlier but this time i asked him to read verse 26 and 27 in order to see the answer to why Jesus paid the tax, initially, it is not Jesus obligation by right to pay tax, but he did that simply to avoid problem with the tax collectors.

Why Jesus didn't pay tithe?
This is another controversial question and the point of reference for many to generate justification about tithing, it is very important to know that, while tax is to be paid, tithe is to be giving, you don't pay tithe, you give tithe, which ever way, but the question is why Jesus didn't pay or give tithe? Like I said before, that the key to understand mystery is WHY, one good reason that Jesus didn't pay tithe is because neither Jesus nor the apostles works or engaged in profitable business, tithe is only mandatory to income earners or profit enterprise, Jesus didn't come to contradict the word of God, he came to fulfill it, tithe is not mandatory on gift items, tithe is strictly for income earners, you can't expect Jesus to give ten percent of the food someone invited him to eat in his house, same way you can't tell someone to give tithe on a gift items or materials that he or she received from someone, tithe is not mandatory on gift items but only on profit and income earnings.

Perhaps somebody can still argue that, tithing is an old testament doctrine or law and it is not applicable to new testament teaching, but the truth is, tithing is not a law or doctrine, tithing is a commandment from God, it is not a church doctrine or religious laws, if they says it is an old testament law and it should be disregarded, then is marriage not also come from old testament, is praying not also come from old testament? Why do you want to abolish tithe and not abolish praying or abolish the commandment of God that says, man shall leave his parents and cleave to his wife and the two shall become one flesh? Tithe is a commandment just like marriage commandment, it is not limited to any religion, whether Christian, Islam, Judaism or induism. Tithe is a commandments to whoever seek after God, regardless of religious affiliation.

A short story of a man and his three wives
There is a man who has three wives, namely Ronke, Hauwa and Oluchi. The man also has several concubines who also gave him children but these three wives are the major known wives.
Whenever the man got sick, Ronke and Hauwa always come together to help the man, while Oluchi will stand afar to see how Ronke and Hauwa could fail without her involvement, oluchi always got bittered whenever she sees the other two wives getting along so well, and she couldn't hide her hatred, she sees Hauwa as a bone of contention and tried so well to lure Ronke to her side, so that they can both deal with Hauwa, but Ronke see oluchi desire as selfish this make oluchi to hate Ronke the more and call her a betrayal. However, The man always remind oluchi that she is part of the the wives and she should try and get together with her colleagues but oluchi is always seems bittered, angered and jealous, she will accused the two wives of segregation or spread rumours and hates about them, often time she demand that the man should let her go that she can not cope seeing the two women getting along so well.
Meanwhile, Every four years, the man always present an opportunity for the wives to choose a leader among themselves, one who will take the lead why other follows, Oluchi wanted the leadership be surrendered and submitted to her like a platter of gold, oluchi never prepared for leadership, she never learned how love is stronger than hatred, how calmness and humility exalt, she is rude and feel entitled to take the leadership by force in order to feel good and use the power for her own advantage, meanwhile Ronke and Hauwa has contrary view to these oluchi selfish demands.
Gradually, oluchi started passing the hatred for the women to her children, she teaches her children to hates them, she lies to her own children that the two women hates her and not wanting her to get involved in the leadership of the house, she fabricated lots of fake stories to suit her demands and as the children grows they started showing these hatred to the children of the other women. The hatred now became trans generational among oluchi children, but one thing that oluchi didn't know about bitterness and hatred is that bitterness is like a burning coal, whenever you take it, you feel uncomfortable and try to throw it away not minding who is close to you.
Children will always be children, oluchi children doesn't know limit of who to throw the burning coal, they started throwing it among themselves also, causing them big troubles, through this hatred, they killed themselves, for almost every selfish interest, including common inheritance. The weapon that oluchi created now destroying her own very children every day in every where the children goes.
Oluchi is ignorance and this ignorance is transfer to her offspring.

And these women are the same set of people that won't allow the man to spend his hard earned money on another woman, they won't allow the man to enjoy his money as he want to.
My advice for men in their 40s and above, have more than 2 women, don't sleep with dirty women, don't sleep with someone wife, spend on the woman you are sleeping with.
The true is, God also want you to have as many women as you can dare to have, God isn't gonna punish you for sleeping or having affair with many women. But be wise don't let any woman claim you to herself alone.
Doing this, will make you live long, more stronger, more better fulfill life, than sticking with one entitled woman, you will work and labour for her and her children but she will always take the credit, when you died, another man will continue digging her. Everyman should try and enjoy his life, America men doesn't marry two wives at once but they can divorce more than 10 women and get another women before they died, they even father children that their government are taking care of. Don't let your pastor deceive you, God want you to have many woman as possible, its not a sin.
