Another great post @naijatechguy. Very informative and I just got few ideas from you. Another channel is building relationship with other bloggers. Build up goodwill with theM and watch as they advertise you and your blog. I amgoing to implement some of this ideas. |
Jtvinci:Thanks for checking it out @Jtvinci Aside from the country thing, is there any other thing I should be doing differently? |

nmreports:Hello, If your pages has been indexed by the search engines as you said, Then, It's a matter of optimizing those pages to start ranking for the keywords you want. However, I would want to understand what you meant by "But Google hardly bring up topics on my website." To double check if your site has actually been indexed by google do this advance check: site:"yoursite".com It will pull up all pages that has been indexed. I hope this helps and if you need further help, just drop a comment here. |
Hi @D34lw4p, Thanks for sharing. This post has given me and idea. Maybe I should do a mammoth blog post like a glossary for terms used in SEO, and Internet marketing. ![]() What do you think? |
Thanks akinjuly77 for this post. The challenge we face here is that of pricing. Whenever we present a quote to our clients for SEO, they usually find it difficult to accept. SEO pricing is a dicey one. However, bills must be presented. I love your idea of auditing website before a price is given and the subscription-based pricing. Thanks once again for this. |
EHI9ICE: , I didn't mean Nairaland. Don't envy anything bro. Things are madt here on week days. Weekends are my saving grace. |
EHI9ICE:Over here nah ![]() Most times, one doesn't even know how time flies like that. Although, it is just only on weekends I have such luxuries for now. |
EHI9ICE:Bros, it's very possible. At least over here I spend close to that time every weekend. |
Hello @BlessJentle, Thanks for writing and posting this here. The points you mentioned are all very relevant in driving traffic to a blog. My favorite is writing and publishing a great and engaging contents. No visitor want to read what they can get from any other blog. My mantra when creating contents is: Provide an actionable tip that will be beneficial to visitors. It has not been easy but it's worth all the effort. I also find this contest idea interesting. Will incorporate it, into my traffic generation strategy. Thanks once again for sharing. samsteve. |
Brightgem:Yes I am the guy that was "meant to post tips one weekend like that" Have you been able to read the tips? Have you tried to implement it? I will love some feedback from you. Samsteve |
Firstly, I didn't say google Trusts every site with contents. Now to the matter, How does sites/blog build Trust? What is it that a website/blog must do to build Trust? What is Trust? Answer these 3 questions and you have yourself the KING. And I tell you, at the minutia of whatever answer you arrived at You will always find CONTENT. |
Hello @Brightgem, It's been a while. Hope you're good? Has there been improvement? Have you tried to implement the tips? I will love to hear your feedback. Samsteve |
Hello Akinjuly72, Another great post from you. Keywords are/is the foundation of SEO. In the words of Brian Dean of Backlinko, "There is no SEO without keywords" Keyword research should be the first thing everyone should do even before writing that first post. The website/blog should be built with those keywords in mind. Samsteve |
Firmlogger:Hi Firmlogger, This is quite insightful. I like the part you said "don't use welcome to my blog". It got me chuckling to myself. Every blogger that is serious with themselves should heed this advise. Do you blog? I will like to connect with you. Samsteve |
Hi Akinjuly72, Thanks for this writeup, it brought a new perspective to the argument. I believe that CONTENT is king in the blogosphere. 1. Before a blog/website can build TRUST, High quality contents would have been CONSISTENTLY published on it. Why is this so, you may ask? To answer that, one will have to understand how the search engines work. Here's a simplified illustration: 1. A user 'comes' to say google and searches for "Purple Hibiscus in Nigeria" 2. Google checks it's index and returns results it believes that will be helpful to the 'searcher' 3. The user clicks one of the websites returned. The next question is, How does Google know that the website is useful to the searcher? There are many signals that Google considers. One is the bounce rate. Now, back to our illustration: Scenario I: The searcher clicks one of the sites and immediately closes or goes back to the search result page Scenario 2: The searcher clicks one of the sites and spends a lot of time on the website. Which of these websites do you think Google will show when s similar query is made? That's how Trust is built. Conclusion: To build Trust with Google, authority websites and Users, publish high quality, informational and helpful articles on your blog. This is actually how to rank high. Samsteve |
woww! it's been like how many years now? I can't believe that I stopped posting here. Just going through the posts and the community that was developing here. It's a shame. How are you guys? hope you guys are doing great? |
Brightgem:Lolsss. I haven't forgotten. Will post it later.. Modified: I hate to keep you waiting and not keeping to my promise. I will make this quick. Summary: Reach out to people who are interested in your blog and what you blog about. How do you find interested audience? I believe there're blogs in your niche you follow. (I know you mentioned one of such blogs in your blog post). Leave quality and helpful comments there.(This is no brainer). Consistently do this on all the blogs you follow. And while at it, leave your links. (most blogs have a field for a commenter to input their blog's url.) People will notice you and want to know more about you >>> your blog gets visited. Reach out to the commenters on this blogs. The idea is, if they're interested enough to leave comments on a particular blog they will also be interested in what you have to say. Get their email/contact details and reach out to them. (Use a chrome extension: Scrape similar) For more explanation on this: check out this site: iwannabeablogger dot com by Micheal Podnev. He is the orignator of the idea and has implemented it on his blog. I'm currently applying that also. I will be waiting to hear what you think and see if it works out fine for you. Sorry for the late response. Had issues with my laptop. |
shadeyinka:Just as it is "a knowing to difficult to describe" for you, that's how it is with the next person who does not believe in what you believe. I admire your conviction and certainty about where you're going. Also bear in mind that the next person also has the same conviction. Even though s/he might not believe what You believed. |
shadeyinka:You're mixing things up here. There's NO Time-Space prior to the big bang. Are we even talking about the same Space-Time continuum or the every day usage of the term time? Though I understand your enquiry, what was before the big bang? This is what your stance is about. It is equally naïve and incorrect to apply a physical law to a phenomenon outside of the physical. And by the way, that law only applies when we are talking about 'large' matter. At singularity, we're looking at high Energy subatomic particles. With this kind of particles all these your classical physical laws does hold. Again Time Is a product of the BigB. There was nothing before the BigB. Everything came to be after that. On a speculative base: If there's time before the BigB, then the following may be true: 1. THere're other universes aside from ours. 2.that the universes (in this case multiverse) are inside eaxch other. Think of Layers of onions, with our universe at the core. 3. If 1 and 2 are correct, then there will be no need to have a creator, since the laws of physics will hold true and hence give rise to the BigB. 4. And if there must be a creator, then s/he must be the laws of physics, since its through their interactions that the universe came to be. Phew! That's pretty long. Just hope you get my drift. |
@Brightgem, you're lucky to have something that keeps you in front of the Screen. That's a luxury I don't have presently. I wouldn't be chanced tiill the weekend hence by Friday evening or Saturday, I will write down and get the resources for improved engagement with your audience. I hope that's ok by you? |
Brightgem:There's no need for the competition but then that's the reality here. |
shadeyinka:Your premise and conclusions are very way out of line. Here let me point out the fallacies in your argument first: 1.At t= 0, X= 0. This is so because BEFORE the big bang space and time does not exist. 2. If X= 0. Then, there's no "space constituents" to talk about in the first instance. 'Expanding universe actually show that at a time, the universe must essentially be a "point object".'- I agree with this postulation. Using Regressive processes can speculate on "point object". However, you goofed again when you made this statement: '...how come an "expansion of the universe" was initiated without an "external " cause?' The universe (Space and time) came to be AFTER the big bang. The expanding universe we observe today, is due to the exploding (outward propulsion) of the "point object". I hope you see what I'm seeing. If you want to explain your God's existence, explain him without trying to use a quasi-physics theory and what not. A more plausible question should have been, what triggered the big bang? |
shadeyinka:Well it then means that you're taking the safe route and believing in your God out of fear and not because you are sure. And in your thinking, what if your God is actually not the right God, What happens when you die? You see, you would have still lost. |
Brightgem:Hello @Brightgem, You have a beautiful and clean blog layout. I also love the color scheme, it feels alive and swirling with energy. I felt at home with your blog, though I noticed there're little or no engagement with your posts. Quick question: 1. Do you blog full time? 2. How often do you write. I noticed varying time. Sometimes you publish within a space of 3 days and other times go for a week without publishing. 3. How do you promote your blogs? 4. Do you mind if I share with you some techniques you can implement to drive comments? Note: They're not mine, but will be willing to point you in the right direction. Sorry this is a long one. Just got carried away. I'm passionate about collaborating with bloggers and internet entrepreneurs with their online businesses. |
Thank OP for a great write up. However, there are different strokes for different folks. Some people might choose to monetize their blog before any other thing and succeed while others choose to give give quality information before money. It's all about how the individual feels. Though, I will still recommend one having a strategy of how to make money from their blogs, no matter what category they belong. P.S: The strategy should be in place as early as possible. |
Yes you can make money from it. however, there are loads of work to be done before you can make money off your blog. What will you do if you find a resource that will teach you everything you need to know for FREE? |
HIlord:Sure. Use this link: www.crossover.com When it opens click the jobs tab and scroll down, you will see different job openings including Versata Level1 support agent. Success to you bro. |
@murphyaik why is your blog parked? |
HIlord:Yes the L1 support is still open. |
anathemiamia:Is it the Versata Level1 support or aurea's? We just have to keep trying till we get the breakthrough. |
tr3y:Alright. success to us all. |
