The list is freaking endless. Jose didn‘t deploy Martial a wingback. He just shifted the boy from left to right.

Bros i put it to you that the way this team plays is the opposite of a typical Jose team. Jose is known for employing warriors on the pitch. From his porto days, to the to his second chelsea stint. Jose typically parks the bus againt big teams but against small teams his teams run riot. We have forgotten that a teenage Robben shone under this manager. Mezut Ozil shone under Mou.
The number 1 requirement of Jose from his players is aggression. its how he has achieved all he has today. And this is also Fergie‘s way. Under SAF every player was a warrior- a fighter. A 23 yr CR7 won the ballon d‘or playing on the right side of a midfield in 442- he worked his ass off.
Martial‘s problem didn‘t start under Mou. In his first season his former academy coach made a statement saying he wasn‘t surpised at Martial because the boy had a thick skin and went about his business without caring much. At that time it sounded like a good thing because LVG was building the team around him- playin the ball to feet and no off the ball movement (which is precisely why we won big matches back then but could barely register a shot at goal when laying against small teams). Now under a coach who can help him reach world class levels u see his attitude starting to hinder him.
His game is lacking in so many ways and its obvious to everyone. He never imposes himself in the game, off the ball movement seriously lacking. Just imagine Martial with HALF of lingard‘s movement and passion.

Am not asking that Martial be world class now. I just hate the fact that he doesn‘t push. I don‘t really care about Paul because i know he can‘t change he will always be a luxury player and so he needs constant motion around him to shine. Martials situation annoys me because i see him as natural heir to Ribery in terms of being a live wire for his team- contatntly prodding the opposition and trying to make things happen no matter what. But the aggression isn‘t there. He need to forget about if the situation is favourable or not. Keep moving, keep running keep trying. Yes he partly to blame for team selection and tactics but the main issue here is that very little of our players have the right mix of ability and drive. Smalling is reliable but very technically limited, young and valencia same have the same problem. Pogba is fucking talented but sometimes plays like he was forced on the pitch. Herrera is driven but technically limited. Lingard is also driven but technically limited. Lukaku is driven but technically inconsistent. Rashford is hardworking bt sometimes he behave like a senseless idiot. Martial is talented but likes everything to be in his favour for him to thrive. The only players that display passion despite thier talents are possibly only De Gea Bailly nd Sanches.

I love Martial but i hate the fact that he can‘t be aggressive. For me the only blame i put on Jose is the fact that he isn‘t ruthless enough. Not just about coming tothe press room and talking. I need him to weild the axe on those players who are not good enough and kicked them out. Infact even those who are good enough but don‘t show enough desire and disciplined should be kicked out. Our match against Brithon was terrible and it had nothing to do wit tactics or setup. Our player were behaving like drunk men on the pitch.

Sergej is basically Pogba without the extra bag of tricks. If we are purchasing just then we arein for a long thing. However if we can purchase another midfielder i.e a box midfielder that can help Matic with defensive duties and midfield control, and proper full backs to offer width, then excellent.
