Alright

Samantha124:
No, thank you.
FamilyRe: The Guilt Of Locking My Husband Up For Two Days by Styluss: 12:00am On Aug 23, 2023
The values that makes you understand that respect is important, and divorce isnt the best. It should only be the last resolution after other diplomatic methods fails,
Samantha124:
Okay, so tell me about those socio-cultural values.
FamilyRe: The Guilt Of Locking My Husband Up For Two Days by Styluss: 11:55pm On Aug 22, 2023
Can we go off Nairaland, this quotes and quotes is tiring, maybe telegram that is as anonymous as here

Samantha124:
Okay, so tell me about those socio-cultural values.
FamilyRe: The Guilt Of Locking My Husband Up For Two Days by Styluss: 11:55pm On Aug 22, 2023
CRIME

Samantha124:
What does Thabo and AKA have to do with the topic at hand?
FamilyRe: The Guilt Of Locking My Husband Up For Two Days by Styluss: 11:47pm On Aug 22, 2023
I talk about population because of the news you read, one or two people in 220 million population isnt alot.
I read the case of Thabo Besta, AKA shot point blank, thats horrible if you ask me!
Why are you so interested in Nigerian contents BTW?
Do you have any afflictions with us?
Samantha124:
This is not about tribe or population... It's about your country seeing women reporting cases of GBV as a thing of shame and therefore, dying in silence.
FamilyRe: The Guilt Of Locking My Husband Up For Two Days by Styluss: 11:45pm On Aug 22, 2023
Its about my country seeing diplomatic ways to solve domestic violence rather than methods that leads to an outright divorce.
There are socio-cultural values inherent among Nigerians. If you are a Nigerian, you will understand better!
Samantha124:
This is not about tribe or population... It's about your country seeing women reporting cases of GBV as a thing of shame and therefore, dying in silence.
FamilyRe: The Guilt Of Locking My Husband Up For Two Days by Styluss: 11:35pm On Aug 22, 2023
This is a country of 220 million people dear. Thats almost quadruple S.A. Population cases you see are from one particular region, my tribe are not women beaters

Samantha124:
Femicide cases are low there because your families see reporting them as a thing of shame... The same way you guys are bashing the op for reporting her husband for GBV.

If you guys are not killers, then how come I see cases of Nigerian women being killed by their boyfriends and husbands on this forum almost everyday?

In your country it's even worse because even single ladies get used for rituals, while others get abducted and forced into marriages.
AutosRe: Car Lovers!,can You Help Me Choose Between These Two Cars? by Styluss: 11:02pm On Aug 22, 2023
No i dont want trading, lost 200k last year, wont do it again

Mcslize:
But that's where the main money is, if only you know your onions. It's not for the faint hearted. So, it's not surprising why you are running away from that.
FamilyRe: The Guilt Of Locking My Husband Up For Two Days by Styluss: 10:58pm On Aug 22, 2023
No, Femicide cases is low in Nigeria because they dont end up dead. We are not killers and not so many couples engage in domestic violence. Marriages are still sacred and respected in most of the regions over here. My babe do not believe in marriage either, it begs for concern if marriage is even necessary in SA.

Samantha124:
I like the fact that you said if it's worth reporting, because most of you guys don't see GBV as worth reporting there... It's a normal thing for you guys.

Your women die in silence everyday because it's not worth reporting.

Of course femicide cases would be low in your country because you don't see it as WORTH REPORTING!!!
TravelRe: If You Had ₦6M, Would You Japa Or Open A Business In Nigeria? by Styluss: 10:40pm On Aug 22, 2023
This is my blood brother, he is a good sibling, I think I can trust him but I will have a second thought on your advice

Sleemkay007:
I pray your story no end up in tears, I did same and still licking my wounds. There’re better ways to do such business without involving family members and friends.
FamilyRe: The Guilt Of Locking My Husband Up For Two Days by Styluss: 10:01pm On Aug 22, 2023
If its worth reporting, they will, most nigerians values socio and cultural marriage standard than divorce. In contrast, 70% of Nigerian Men are not drunks and very hardworking unlike our counterparts in S.A. who protested for beer price during covid.

Femicide cases is on the low in Nigeria compared to SA. Ive been with an SA woman and I know how easy it is to die overthere. Your biggest cities have the highest crame rates in Africa.

Samantha124:
Of course you would know about the high cases of GBV in SA because most SA women would report it.

But we wouldn't know anything about GBV cases in Nigeria because you guys see it as a normal thing, hence most of your women don't report it.

And if your Nigerian women don't report it, there wouldn't be any case to know about.

You guys are not even afraid to beat up your women in front of a camera for everyone to see, because you know that nothing is gonna happen to you.
FamilyRe: The Guilt Of Locking My Husband Up For Two Days by Styluss: 9:03pm On Aug 22, 2023
Oh I forgot, you are a South African. My babe told me about the rate of Femicide in there, Yall have so many principles and the guys still kill for fun.
Begs for the reason why there are lots of single mothers roaming in S.A.

Samantha124:
Well, since I'm not a Nigerian, then let me keep quiet.
FamilyRe: The Guilt Of Locking My Husband Up For Two Days by Styluss: 8:28pm On Aug 22, 2023
Marriage is beyound laws, especially a Nigerian marriage

Samantha124:
It doesn't matter.

Is breaking things in the house and beating up your wife lawful?
FamilyRe: The Guilt Of Locking My Husband Up For Two Days by Styluss: 7:43pm On Aug 22, 2023
domestic violence is very bad. If your best resolution is locking him up in the police station rather than threatening him with the force, reporting to his friends and family, starving him sexually or other ways then she should face whatever consequences. Would she have arrested him if he was the breadwinner?
Im sure she would find other alternatives.
My people say you dont do friends after a court case. Only a miracle can safe that marriage.
BTW Are you married?
UnfairLife7:
domestic violence is a No. It's a criminal offence
FamilyRe: The Guilt Of Locking My Husband Up For Two Days by Styluss: 7:34pm On Aug 22, 2023
We have different breaking point. A punch cant make you cry does not mean another can not cry with just a poke.

UnfairLife7:
trust me i understand what he's
I don't condole violence no matter the situation.
FamilyRe: The Guilt Of Locking My Husband Up For Two Days by Styluss: 7:10pm On Aug 22, 2023
No man can forget such treatment. he might move on for the sake of his kid but will nevr forget it
dreamxhaser:
You think it's easy

The man was going through a lot. I've seen young boys passing through family issues start taking drugs not to talk of a grown man who lost his job.

Do you know what the community must have been saying and treated him?

You are not nice with your comment, neither is his wife that locked him up. From her story, she's obviously a good wife, but she got it wrong at that point. Just because she's been good dosen't mean we should overlook the bad she did.

Dammm, that man might never forget this. I am certain the moment he gets his shit right (which he eventually will) he will remind her of this.
FamilyRe: The Guilt Of Locking My Husband Up For Two Days by Styluss: 6:59pm On Aug 22, 2023
Are you married?

Samantha124:
I'm sorry to say this, but your husband is childish.

If he was my husband and he starts emotionally blackmailing me like that by refusing to leave those police cells... I was going to leave him there until the police kick him out, or until he decides to leave.

As long as I'd have apologized to him and explained the reason why I got him arrested, I'd have left him there with his childish tantrums.

Maybe it's because I don't tolerate nonsense.

FamilyRe: Why Do High-status Career Women Seem To Have Problems With Their Marriage? by Styluss: 2:23pm On Aug 22, 2023
No, as busy as I was, I had the time, just couldnt meet, I call and care always. We are in same city but i have a very tight schedule that I can only get a time out once a month, its beyond my control.
I use to tell her, if I had a regular job time, she will be considered busy because she flies and she only have time a few times per week herself. but she loves intimacy and obviously, once a month is crazy

She fell off along the line, and when I pleaded, I think she already moved on cos she acted as if I did more than that.

Kobojunkie:
I thought you said she was the one who didn't really have time for the relationship as much as you had? Or was it more that your schedules didn't align well? undecided
FamilyRe: Why Do High-status Career Women Seem To Have Problems With Their Marriage? by Styluss: 2:14pm On Aug 22, 2023
lol, Mostly my fault. She is richer, I am busier

Kobojunkie:
Probably because it was exactly that, you wanting the relationship more than she did. How is she to blame for that? undecided
FamilyRe: Why Do High-status Career Women Seem To Have Problems With Their Marriage? by Styluss: 2:06pm On Aug 22, 2023
I just lost one, its very difficult dating one of them. She was sweet but the relationship was tiring because we hardly see and it felt like I am the only one who wnats it

ideamonster:
The potential threat the career of a woman can cause to her marriage especially if her husband isn’t as successful as she is has always been a point of discussion. Moreover, some single men are even afraid to marry a woman who is successful in their chosen career than them. Some believe that the norm is husbands “should” hold higher job status relative to their wives. When this norm is violated, and wives hold the higher status job, negative consequences can follow: Women are more likely to be targets of husbands’ aggression, and the risk for divorce increases.

Question
is it a crime for a woman to succeed in her chosen field or earn more?
