Philosopher1979: Nigerian players are skilled BUT TECHNICALLY DEFICIENT AND THIS IS A BIG PROBLEM. Nigerians play football with their raw skills alone. Ahmed musa is fast and mobile but his crosses are not accurate. Pius ikedua is skillfull but lacks vision. Egwueke (who played under keshi) was strong and tall but could not mark or pass well and had bad positioning etc Most of our talented players are badly no. The average nigerian coach is outdated and lacks knowledge of the modern game. We need to arrange tutorials for all our coaches. Our coaches need massive reorientation for our football to develop We need a new generation of tactically sound nigerian coaches who can turn a skillfull ball jugler into eden hazard. This is what is missing. The foreign born players are simply under better coaches and career managers and that is all. In fact Ibrahimovic was just a dribbler until he went to ac milan and a coach transformed him yo a gial scoring machine. This issue needs to be addressed Ok but we had Okocha, Kanu, Oliseh, Siasia and other technically gifted players |

JayromWrites: Adelakun Was The One Doing All The Job Looking For Players' - Nigeria Great Odegbami Blasts Rohr
In a no-holds-barred interview with Nigerian television station Plus TV Africa monitored by allnigeriasoccer.com, legendary Nigeria winger Segun Odegbami strongly criticized the decision of the Nigeria Football Federation to give a new contract to Gernot Rohr.
The Franco-German football tactician is on the verge of inking a new deal with the NFF amidst all the conditions laid out in the proposed deal, including living in Nigeria to monitor potential Super Eagles players in the domestic championship and being paid in the local currency.
"I don't know about the plot to send him packing, I have been an advocate of the end of foreign coaches in Nigerian football and I stand by that," said Odegbami.
"It is very insensitive of people at this time in our history considering where we are now with the coronavirus opening our eyes to the new realities of the world for us to continue to go back to something that has failed us."
The highlight of Odegbami's interview was when he revealed that English-based scout of Nigerian descent, Tunde Adelakun was the one doing most of the job assigned to Rohr.
Adelakun has often been sighted at English Premier League match venues monitoring players of Nigerian descent with a view to a call-up to the national team.
"Gernot Rohr didn't succeed, he took all that money, didn't spend his time in this country.
"A black young Nigerian man, Tunde Adelakun was the one doing all the job, combing the whole of Europe to look for players and all Gernot Rohr was doing was spending few days to assemble players and play matches.
"Besides that his scoreline is not anything that Nigerians have not done before so we must put an end to this slavery and colonial mentality," Odegbami added.
The 1980 Africa Cup of Nations winner concluded by saying that an indigenous coach should be in charge of the Super Eagles
"Nigerians at this point have to look inwards, everything around us shows that these people out there don't love us so they can't love our country more than us.
"We have Nigerians who can do the job, they have always done the job and they can still do the job.
"Gernot Rohr, we have no business discussing with him, his contract expires in June, he should just go quietly."

Blueelf: Billing seeing that he can't make the Danish team again has decided to (with great hesitation) play for Nigeria.
Such players can never be loyal. Take it to the bank Billing has never been loyal to any team, not Huddersfield when they were fighting relegation or the Danish national team which he has declared for not up to 1 year before he 'undeclared' I just see him as a bag of problems who will start grumbling if he doesn't start in the SE |

Joseph Yobo: I’ll be 100% loyal to Gernot Rohr Newly appointed Assistant coach and former Captain of the Super Eagles, Joseph Yobo, says he cannot wait to start in his new position. Life for Joseph Yobo as Super Eagles assistant coach could lead to greater things for the former captain, who insisted he’ll be loyal and is ready to learn from Manager Gernot Rohr. Yobo was appointed to the team as Rohr’s assistant and will replace former NPFL winner, Imama Amapakabo after just one year. The former Eagles captain was yet to resume his duties along side Rohr in the technical area due to the COVID-19 pandemic, after the cancelation of Nigeria’s 2021 AFCON qualifiers against Sierra Leone. In an interview, yesterday, Yobo explained his expectations when he resumes with the team. “I’m a very loyal person, was as player and nothing has changed,” said the Eagles assistant coach. “There is a lot to learn from the coach and I am ready to work and learn; for my development and importantly for the progress of our team.’ https://www.today.ng/sport/football/joseph-yobo-100-loyal-gernot-rohr-295771 |

komekn: His transfer fee was about €25 million plus and so wages will be high.
Unless he gets game time in a competitive league he is going to see his career nose dive. He is an English bred frustrated in Germany, English clubs needing a winger will come buy him from Germany But if he goes to Besisktas , it will take outstanding performances in the Champions league to bring him to attention again |

komekn: That's not what l said, let me explain it in more simplistic terms for you to understand.
The subject is comparison of player attributes and the transfer of those attributes to the SE. In particular Awaziem and Adarabioyo.
Underpinning my view is my never ending proposition. That my preference is for an outstanding Lion in a lower league and club than an anonymous mouse in a top club and league.
Although La Liga is an outstanding league Leganese is a poor club in that league with a stadium that has a capacity of 12k.
Just like the EPL there is a big gulf between the top clubs and the lower clubs and even the 2nd tier of the leagues.
Adarabioyo is just finding his feet as he had had limited chances in City for obvious reasons. As a consequence he is on loan. Nonetheless, he has outstanding in the Championship much to my suprise l watched him bully Dominic Iorfa.
I do not think Awaziem is an outstanding player in his league, he was not outstanding in France and he was OK in Turkey. Because you have leveraged his club perfomances as the basis for him being better than Adarabioyo.
I simply do not know. That's why l said if Adarabioyo was playing in Leganese would he be able to stand out. On the other hand consider the intensity if the Championship will Awaziem be outstanding. But you took it another way in the negative.
People often say, " Put your money where your mouth is"
Awaziem did not attract any better club ❓ Why he is too good. Leganese is a not a rich club that buys budget priced players. In reality they are not able to afford a player like Adarabioyo.
But back to the question who is better ❓ l listed the players individual attributes and said the only area Awaziem may exceed him is in football intelligence and Technicality. The word l used was MAY it's not absolutely definite.
If you are talking about somebody playing as a CB, my preference would be for Adarabioyo because he is faster, taller ( aerial dominance) physically stronger, and to be in City is a given you absolutely must have a good degree of technical ability.
Finally, how does the football market see both players. Not much happening for Awaziem from what l have noticed in the past 7 days. But look how much interest Adarabioyo is generating. Ok
