safarigirl: It is not one match that will make it spread
Kuku tell people to stop going to church and close down the schools. You are more likely to get corona virus in those places, than at a football game anyway.
So, if you want to exercise caution, target the right places first, anything else looks more like an attempt to identify with Europe.
Even when Ebola ravaged Lagos state and reached Port-Harcourt, nobody closed down anything, it is now 2 Corona cases that will make government or CAF play a game behind closed doors? Unu amaro ka ha sikwa do. UEFA, CAF is not government, they have done their own, it is left to the government to issue advisories on how you congregate in public places which I believe they have done. |

Triniti: You are the one with fake sense of “ wokeness” have you been to ogbogonogo market in Asaba? Are you going to shut that too since you don’t want people to contact the virus? the same people that goes to that market will be the ones to come watch the match, the ones coming in from abroad will be checked at the border......markets,churches, mosque and other businesses in Asaba has been operating in full capacity, yet you want them to play the match behind closed doors, because it was done somewhere else. Now ask yourself, me and you, who dey reason well? Person go die one day no be say im go dey block moto for express So because people congregate in markets and churches that's why you have to ignore common sense safety precautions and put people's lives in danger? |

Triniti: Right in what ways? The people at the helms of affairs are already taking precautionary measures, what else do you guys want? Seems like Nigerians likes it when they get associated with everything that happens in the rest of the world. Corona is not an epidemic here, yet you guys wants the system to shutdown as if we are China or Italy It would take only one Coronavirus carrier in that match at Asaba to cause a serious epidemic crisis Don't let your fake 'wokeness' affect your sense of reasoning |

safarigirl: Sounds like you're calculating the spread of the virus in Nigeria, which is still a negative thing. Others are saying it will be gone, you are implying otherwise. They call such things, doomsday predicitions.
Anyway, save your calculation for later, when It will matter. For now, there is no need for you to calculate or watch anything, especially as, you are not a member of any of the concerned bodies. In two weeks, the situation on ground will determine what decisions will be taken.
No dey wish us bad in advance. When did being calculative means wishing bad luck? Besides whether I wish bad or good it doesn't affect the spread of the disease Hope you're not in one of those new generation churches? |

safarigirl: Match that is on the 27th, somebody is already suggesting the stadium be closed off, the way some people want to identify with this Corona virus sha.
Other countries are calculating the timely end of the virus, Nigerians are looking forward to more patients in their country Nobody is hoping for Coronavirus, people are just being watchful and calculative |
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Subzero047: 9:09pm On Mar 10, 2020 |
safarigirl: Before you make decisions like denying fans chance to watch their teams play, you must provide a damning reason, and two Corona virus cases in Lagos, will sadly, not count as sufficient, to close off the stadium in Asaba. They should kuku scrap the game off, than deny fans entry based on a corona virus scare, because that one won't even work in Nigeria
Your thoughtfulness is appreciated though, but it is far too early for this suggestion. The match is in three weeks, in three weeks, there might be zero cases of the virus in Nigeria, or ten.
No need to get ahead of yourself, except you have plans to import the virus into the country. Some of you are so eager to join in the count of corona ravaged countries, it seems You have one question : Can you authoritatively tell me the number of Coronavirus carriers in Nigeria? If not your argument carries no weight |
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Subzero047: 8:49pm On Mar 10, 2020 |
safarigirl: We are talking about playing games indoors.
The latest trend is games being played indoors, that is what you want to follow, which is laughable, because, it will still do little to nothing.
How many people will watch a game in the Asaba stadium? Can you compare that to the people who will gather at viewing centres to watch the same game?
UEFA has Valencia playing their UCL game indoors, but thousands of fans have gathered on the streets to support the team, making the point of the indoor games useless. The people that caught coronavirus in Italy, how many of them caught it after watching a game at a stadium?
I repeat, it is not every trend you must follow. There is currently no basis upon which games should be played indoors in any part of Africa, and CAF/NFF will certainly not pass up on an opportunity to sell tickets because 2 people have tested positive for corona virus in Nigeria, neither of whom have died. Firstly taking precautions like playing games indoors is not an 'European thing' it is a common sense thing. Common sense should tell you that taking steps not to aggravate the situation is what is most important in situations like this Secondly you can't authoritatively tell the number of people with the Corona Virus in Nigeria, and preventing congregating in large numbers like that Afcon qualifier would save thousands of lives if there are undetected cases of the Coronavirus Lastly you can't tell me that CAF/NFF value the 1000 Naira per ticket more than the lives of Nigerian citizens. |

safarigirl: It took over 100 people getting infected in Italy to play behind closed doors, the whole of Africa has not even reached twenty cases of coronavirus, so, on what basis will the game be played behind closed doors?
You people just want to identify with a world epidemic so bad, did the world identify with Africa when Ebola ravaged it?
I repeat, on what basis will the game be played behind closed doors? The match is not even in Lagos, what concerns Asaba and Corona virus? No be every trending thing you must join, just to feel among You know we are talking about people's lives? Your writeup shows lack of empathy |

TheGoodJoe: "He's so intelligent as a player,"
"One of the qualities I appreciate the most for my players is being intelligent, understanding everything that happened in the game, during the game and solve it - offensively, defensively, as quick as possible.
"He can play in many roles. When he plays close to the box, he's a guy who scores goals and has personality.
"I didn't expect after one year, two years he would be so consistent as a holding midfielder, defending that position. He's an exceptional player, honestly. He's one of Europe's best players, in fact."... Guardiola on Gundogan.

If you watch Gundogan from a tactical perspective, his reading the game, finding himself in open spaces (today, watch how many times he raised his hands signalling he was free.
One of the chances we missed, I can not remember who missed, you will see his meticulous use of Space in the box.
He covers gaps to win the ball and provides lots of opening during build up plays. Losing balls under pressure does not change the massive work Gundogan puts into play. Nawa o, did you watch today's match at all? |
