Family / Re: I Sell My Properties Whenever I Go Broke, Is It Spirtual? by successcard: 10:59am On Sep 26, 2023
I'm amazed most of you think his problem is spiritual. Very interesting 🤔

First of all, his problem is the lack of money, possibly caused by the fact that he has a low paying job, etc.

Secondly, he does not save money—whichbis evident in the fact that he has nothing to fall on when he is in dire times.

Not everything is spiritual, Nigerians. No wonder politicians walk about freely—unaccountable and unchallenged—because the average Nigerian thinks his joblessness or lack of money is caused by the devil.

KiNg0G:
I am not here for financial aid but help from people who have overcome such problems.

I can't help but think, when I get married with a wife and kids to feed, is this how I am going to continue? How will my family respect me.

This is the 3rd time of me replacing my tv set in the last 2years. Whenever I run out of money, I search for anything valuable to sell in my home, with the mindset that I will replace it. Which I normally do but sometimes it takes time because i know i might sell it again within some weeks. This is getting on me deeply with the number of cartons of phones and receipts from same equipments I no longer have.
My generator is another thing to talk about that my neighbors and landlord are starting to gossip because I can't explain changing of generator to and fro when its always placed outside.

I know I need help but don't know how to go about this.
I am not here for financial assistance as claimed by some peoples in anyway please, some of us seek for ways to stop some certain things when we know we are falling off tracks.

I am on my way to lg office to replace my TV for the third time and the thought of it warrants this post.

Foreign Affairs / Re: African Union Backs ECOWAS Resolutions On Niger Republic by successcard: 5:36pm On Aug 11, 2023
Niger doesn't need Nigeria. Stop lying to yourself. Your country's funny mantra of being the giant of Africa has ate deep into your head.

Niger is a sovereign country, and must be respected.

Why didn't Nigeria send forces to Guinea, Mali or Burkina Faso? To the best of my knowledge, these countries are still under military rule.

Nigeria and ECOWAS are just about to embarrass themselves.

Points to note:
— Niger is bigger than Nigeria. It'll not be easy to invade.
— The people of Niger are far motivated than Nigeria and ECOWAS. They are fighting for freedom and a new beginning. What is ECOWAS fighting for? You can't win a war without purpose.
— Mali and Burkina Faso has pledged to support Niger. Malian soldiers have some experience from fighting Al Qaeda. Nigerian soldiers can barely deal with Book Haram.
— Nigeria is not USA. They don't posses the same capabilities to invade a country.

FreeStuffsNG:
Game over! O pari!

The coupists are under tremendous pressure. They have not gotten the legitimate President they kidnapped to resign amidst rumour of counter coup and punishing potent sanctions by Ecowas.

Niger needs Nigeria. They can NEVER do without Nigeria. That coup Leader knows there is nowhere to go than to do the wish of Nigeria.

The moment you see the same people who supported Mr Peter Obi , Mr Nnamdi Kanu, Mr Trump, GEJ, etc supporting the coupists, I knew the coupists are jinxed with bad luck of not getting their wish. Nobody or nothing they support ever ends well. Check my signature for free stuffs!

I'd advice you don't allow her to bring in 4 relatives. If you succumb to this demand, you'll always be at her mercy—begging!

Her family will rule over you. They'd feel entitled.

If she's serious about marrying you, she'll do everything possible to be with you, alone!

Tob456:
I have a 7 months old daughter her mother is an orphan, she is the eldest of 7.

We broke up when she was pregnant because we had a disagreement about her siblings living arrangements.

She wanted her 4 sisters to stay with us after the wedding and I only two of them to stay with us. The problem is seeing my daughter growing in a bad environment away from me makes me feel so bad.

Whenever I visit her I feel so bad leaving her behind that I don't sleep well thinking about her all night.

I also doesn't like the idea of having kids with different mothers.

For my daughter's sake I want to get back with her mother for us to raise her together in the same house. But getting back with her means that I should also allow her 4 siblings to stay with us after the wedding.

I am doing this for my daughter's sake but I don't know if I am making a wise decision.

What do you guys think should I get back with her or forget about her and concentrate only on my daughter.

Please help

Most women become unattractive once married. That's why married men cheat.

Imagine seeing one hippopotamus with oversized grandma panties everyday. The man is bound to lose interest in her. If not for children and what the society would say, most married men would chase their wives away after few years of marriage.

Men typically wouldn't cheat because a woman has grown fat. There are fat women who still have their husbands faithful.

MEN WILL CHEAT ON WOMEN WHO DO NOT GIVE THEM PEACE OF MIND. What you term as cheating, an unhappy married man calls it getting peace of mind. Sad reality

This their case and most of the ones I've seen is not money. The men have clearly lost interest.
You'll see them sitting with other people outside gisting and laughing while their wives will be alone sitting all by herself. So sad.

Without mincing words, the wife might probably be a forceful person or a quarrelsome person.

That's why couples need prayer

Being familiar with Bible quotes in Africa especially means you're "intelligent," but that is not the case. It's important to note that personal responsibility for one's actions should not be overshadowed by spiritual interpretations alone. It is crucial to remember that not every elimination or negative outcome can be attributed solely to the influence of the Devil. Instead, individuals should learn to take ownership of their choices and actions, understanding that they have a role to play in shaping their own lives. While challenging situations may arise, it is essential to avoid oversimplifying them as purely the work of external forces. Balancing faith with personal responsibility is key, as we acknowledge that God's ways surpass our comprehension while also recognizing the importance of our own agency and accountability. Marriage is more physical than you can imagine.

A terrible character from a husband or wife will tear the marriage apart.

Politics / Re: With Today's Ruling, Is There Any Hope For Peter Obi At Supreme Court? by successcard: 5:12pm On May 26, 2023
Trust me, there's no hope for LP or the others. This is Africa, and no court will ever dare to pass a ruling against an incumbent government.

Tinubu will rule Nigeria for the next four years. And I will not be surprised if he makes it eight.

I feel sorry for Nigeria, and the innocent Nigerians dwelling there undecided

Apart from the fact that she's older than me , I have a 12yr old daughter already, and I have my girlfriend currently (not the mother of my child) so it's obvious I won't marry her, But should I help her? but I'm scared she wouldn't stop on a child , she will need more sooner or later..

While it's possible for Peter Obi to turn the fortunes of Nigeria around, I would advise that you lower your expectations to avoid further heartaches.

One thing to note about a political party coming into power is that, the party rules the nation, not the one leading it. Peter Obi is the flagbearer of a political party (I'm not sure of the name of the party, I'm Ghanaian) hence he would have so much favour to give out. He needs to sought out all the big guns who are playing major roles in his campaigns. Not forgetting all the celebrities who are rooting for him.

Each and everyone of them will have to be fixed somewhere.

It's politics. Do not trust a politician with your heart.

If the Ghana Police arrest its own personnel who are suspected to have aided in the robbery, then it tells you that our institutions are working, and that the rule of law reigns supreme. I think such occurrence might be rare in your country.

Ghanaians are very big fraudsters with their sakawa boys.

A lot of the bad happenings in Ghana are being underreported because the government there is trying to protect their tourism department because the country heavily depends on tourism to stay afloat.

So this is not only going on in Nigeria? It's also occurring in Ghana?

These acts were not common in the past, here in Ghana. It is based on the influence of some "bad Nigerians" in our country. Don't get me wrong -- I do not seek to blame all Nigerians for this -- I'm just letting you know that some people are tarnishing the image of your country here in Ghana.

If you live in Ghana, you would notice that many of the social vices are perpetrated by these bad people from Nigeria, sometimes with the help of Ghanaians they have influenced.

Statistics show that over 90% of prostitutes + hookup girls in Ghana are from Nigeria (this is an open secret). Please, if you have any sister who claims to have migrated to Ghana but has no qualification for a white collar job, please check on them and find out what they are really doing here. Most of such women are into prostitution + hookup.

Somewhere last year, we had a number of day light robbery cases in Accra, which has never been the case here. Some of them were caught and arrested. Guess what?! Most of them were Nigerians. They even kidnapped some Canadian students in Kumasi, but the police came to the rescue.

Same for ritual killings here... I'm sure by now you know about the killing of the Takoradi girls by some Nigerians.

And talk about Internet fraud, a lot of them are hiding here, and doing that. And they always get arrested.

This is incredibly bad. These people are tarnishing the image of your country. And some Ghanaians are getting really impatient with Nigerians these days...

Choosing a life partner can be one challenging task, especially when we are not so sure if they are the ones for us. Most often than not, these questions flood our minds: Does God choose our life partner? Does God choose your life partner for you? Is it true that God created a specific person for everyone of us? What happens if I miss out on the right person and marry someone else? Is there any such thing as the right person? How would you know if he/she is the right person? How can I know if this or that person is the one for me? Does God decides on who we should and who we shouldn't marry? Is there any such thing as the person of my ribs? How to find the right person?

Nairaland / General / Ebooks Vs Printed Books - Which Is Better? by successcard: 10:11am On Jul 15, 2019
People all over the literary world express different opinions when asked the question “Ebooks or Printed books – which one is better?” Based on popular polls and a little bit of research, we at Country Tales have come up with the answer to this trending question. Our analysis was based on four factors: “Accessibility, Cost factor, Ease of use and Level of retention.”

Let’s expatiate!

Acessibility

The modern man is often characterised by his taste for convenience. People no longer fancy moving about with tons of loads on them. Without any doubts, Ebooks clearly fits into this lifestyle; it gives readers access to millions of books on one device. Additionally, readers can make use of great functionalities that enables them to change the book format, increase font sizes and even select different font styles.

Printed books on the other hand offers non of these. They take up too much space in our bags, and sometimes bedrooms.

Cost factor

Ebooks are way cheaper to produce, compared to its compatriot. They are produced once on a computer and uploaded onto the internet for readers to purchase at relatively cheaper prices. Best of all, there are thousands of free books that are available online for readers to download at the click of a button. It gets better: “Ebooks cannot be torn into pieces”. If by chance you loose the device on which you read your electronic books, you only need to get a new one and then you can redownload your Ebooks from your online archives. Ebooks can be shared with friends without loosing your personal copy, where as the same cannot be said about printed books.

Printed books are generally expensive because the cost of printers and paper have soared high in recent times. Unlike Ebooks, printed books can be damaged by several factors, including water, mice, and even by reading it constantly. Replacing worn out books may cost you exactly the same amount you spent in acquiring the first copy.

Ease of use

Based on a recent poll that was conducted, most users testified that printed books are generally easier to use than the EBook counterpart. Printed books gives a natural feel and can be read from all angles. To crown it all, they do not require power to function. In the case of a power outage, you still have control over the contents you want to read. Printed books are also friendly to the eyes, where as Ebooks causes our eyes to strain, owing to the light that it emits.

Level of retention

It is easier to remember what you have read in printed materials than electronic formats, according to a large number of students and teachers. They admitted however that Ebook offers them the chance to complete a book at a more faster pace. But the overall goal of reading a book is not just in the speeed but centered around knowledge acquisition and knowledge application. Printed books help you achieve this at a much greater percentage.

The winner by far is... Both Printed books and Ebooks.

Both formats make a good pick; none is better than the other. It all boils down our individual preferences. If you’re much concerned about the cost factor and accessibility, then Ebooks might be your favourite. But if you want to retain more of what you have read, and also considering the ease of use, then printed books will suit you most. Either ways, both formats sum up equally.

Marriage is said to be a union of two, for better or for worse. However, this vow is quickly rubbished when things turn south. "Born to be a priest" that talks about the tribulations Ihuoma had to go through, owing to childlessness in marriage. Jidefor, her husband, who was badly in need of a child went behind her back in search of a 'fruitful wife'.

"A man has the right to marry as many wives as he can take care of!" He fumed, when cautioned by the elders. To what limits would his intents reach?

Business / Learn How To Set Goals And Accomplish Them by successcard: 12:52pm On Feb 15, 2018
Making a to-do-list or setting goals for oneself is nothing new; it existed long before man even realised it. Goals, like any other important task in the world comes with numerous benefits, and one of them is the peaceful feeling you get on the inside when you accomplish them. They also give us many reasons why we need to get up from our bed each morning.

The easiest thing in the world to set goals: Just get a piece of paper and write down the things you wish to accomplish. Anybody can do that; even three year olds who can read and write. It takes extra work and special dedication to make those wishes come true.

In today’s post, we will share with you some of the reasons why you need to set targets for yourself as an individual.

It gives you a sense of direction

You don’t want to wake up each morning and kick start an activity you didn’t plan for, do you? That’s why goal setting is so important; it beams light on your path and gives you direction in life. It keeps you focus on your work, helping you to move step-by-step without clinging to unnecessary tasks. It gives you a regular pattern to follow hence keeping distractions at bay.

It helps us make good use of our time

Procrastination is a thief of time. Time is a precious resource available to everybody. It is non-renewable. It is pivotal to our everyday lives. Without it, we wouldn’t be able to factor out when to do what to do. Having a goal at hand helps us make the best of the limited twenty-four hours we have in a day.

It makes us tackle the important things first

Having a list of things to do keeps you disciplined and also gives you the chance to do the things that matters most. Every single goal is relevant, irrespective of how small they may look; but some goals carry more weight than others. With your goals written, you get the chance to do the hard and important things first, before moving on to the easier ones, which requires little time and attention.

It helps us measure our progress

You can’t tell how far you have traveled if you don’t know where you started from. You can’t tell where you are going if you don’t know where you are. A to-do-list helps you keep track of your movements; it helps you monitor every stage of your progress.

Set goals today!
