cool_breeze: Hi all.. Please I intend on applying for a visitor's visa to the us soon and I have a few questions.. I'm 22 and I'm single.. I started work with a private construction company a few months ago.. I work as the personal assistant to the MD.. I earn roughly 150k per month.. I have over 1m in my acct.. I have an uncle in texas who's a citizen.. I intend to visit him too.. My leave starts in the middle of march.. I will be off work for 30 days.. Please what are my chances? + I don't have any landed property here in Nigeria so what can I use to prove my ties.. Pls get bak to me asap.. Its urgent.. Thanks

I believe it is better if your uncle send you an invitation letter,tax return with other documents and on your part too you need a leave letter from your place of work, in fact it is better you check the website out to see what documents are required and then prepare accordingly the earlier the better.

Like Imperrioxx said just get a letter from the school and you will be fine,in fact you can resume a week after the commencement of classes so if your classes starts lets say on the 14th of Jan you can come in on the 20th and start school on the 21 so collect your visa and book your flight and jet in as soon as you can all u need is just a letter from your school

@ Pawole for the most part the reason why you were denied is crystal clear.In my opinion i strongly advise you change your major however the degree of passion you have for Automotive or whatever. AET is not in anyway marketable in Nigeria at least for now i dont know about in the yr 2020 ooo ..Mech engr will be fine just for u to get in and lets see if u will continue with AET when u get in ....[color=#006600][/color] so please change your major with the same school(possibly)

BRUV sorry about ur denial is not the end of the world,however, your answers were just too shallow please you need to do some home work before reapplying since you can always apply for emergency all you need is to be well prepared and boost your confidence level Dr. and imperioxx were absolutely right so know why you wana study Biotech(VERY IMPORTANT)
Do more research on your course and the course prospect Better Luck on your next interview.....

Hello House I got my Visa on July 2, sorry dis is coming late it is actually because I have been out of town.
My interview was met to be 7:30am, i was so soaked in the rain despite the fact that I was well dressed.
My interview was just divinely plan and filled with favour.
I was praying within me to be called by the guy in counter 4;cos he was given the visa as if he wants all and sundry in the USA, however , my number was called on counter 6(DIVINELY PLAN).I was just blasting prayer within and I was so bold all dese were from divinity

Me: Good Morning
VO: Good Morning, While would you like to go to the USA
Me: To pursue my graduate studies
VO: What School
Me: Purdue University (I observed wen I sed dis he was already tearing the green card I was like just like dat ...abi na fake… well God !@ work)
VO: where is your campus located ?
Me: Told him Indiana (He was trying to say somefin but I culd barely hear him because the speaker @ window 6 dat day went so bad so I was just reading his lips: and i actually sed sir dis speaker is bad ooo politely with smile
VO: Did u take GRE?
Me: Yes I did, and showed him
VO: How many times
Me: Just Once
VO: Do u have your undergraduate transcript?
Me: Yes I was trying to bring it out

as soon as I mentioned the school he was already trying to give me the card so I felt oda questions were for formality. This looks so long but in the real sense my interview was just for like 3minutes as against 5 mins I told God
I had prepared so plenty question and I was only asked few.
My Visa was approved not for any reason but it was God @ work hence I return all the glory to God.
Again I want to thank all d gurus in the house GboyegaD, Imperioux ,Jitosam etc .and my special and sincere thanks goes to PHY who I have not seen before but took my case as if it was his always responding to my mail and pick my calls even in odd hours ….May God richly bless the work of your hands IJN

However i have seen a friend who has a register business he has promise to give me his company statement of account that has a good turn over and a minimum balance of like 6 to 7 million naira and his companies document and letter of sponsorship i will just say he is my uncle(as we dont have same surname)...my question now is this

a)when i am filling the DS form should i write his name as sponsor-er or his companies name?

b)again is it appropriate for me to take the companies statement of account to the embassy since technically the account name is the companies name doh he is the signatory to the account...

c)how do i fill two sponsor my uncle and my self on DS 160 form?

seedord247: Sir. The last time i checked, UK and USA are 2 different countries that resides in diff continent. Though, the VO may ask you about the countries you've been too. That one is up to you bcus only you know the reason why they deport you.

jimtosam: Baba Success, please you can handle your VISA appointment by yourself. But, let me tell you something, Abuja appointment date not Available till Sept 20th. Lagos is still available from July 20th.

Method: Go to any GTB branch, tell them you want to pay for F1 VISA. You will pay 25,600 naira. Go to usatraveldocs website and register. Fill in your details and the confirmation number that will be given to you by GTB. When you fill all these details, appointment date window will be displayed, choose the day you want and click on book appointment. Shekina.

phy: I guess you've seen other commentaries. I know you'll be able to pay for at least your first semester from the 2M. If you know anybody in your sch that can accommodate you for say a month will be nice, if not start visiting craiglist or padmapper. On campus job - you may get it, but first plan without it. For loan, cosigner is the 'koko'; if you have someone, then you're good to go. I wish you God's favor.

Tuition and fee( 12500 dols)
Living expenses(9500dols)
Books n insurance(3500dols)
so i shld show a stmt with a min balance of 25500dols
d state is indiana
pls i dont really get does it mean accommodation is part of living expenses? n can i pay a lesser amount cos dey sed dis is just an estimate

Lastly, i have sent a stmt of account to d sch for processing of I20, if i get my I20 now is it possible for me to get anoda I20 frm anoda sch if d oda sch dat wil giv me TA/RA?

phy: @ successgrace, I guess you're going for an MSc program and I'll advise from that angle. Personally, I feel 4.5m is a good one to start with and if your account shows such turnover that is fine, there are a lot of self sponsored students. However, that will only cover for one year according to most I20's (In reality for grads it could be less). How about if the VO ask about your funding for the second year (normally no VO should ask because the rule is for applicant to show evidence of funding for one year), to me this just the question you should prepare for and pray. I feel you're good to go.

doh d total cash i have in d account is roughly a turnover(balance) of 4.5m naira but my main cash in dat account is 2million naira odas r frm friend just to print stmt of account for d embassy and for I20 so please considering d fact dat all d sch need for a year is 4.1m naira with my 2mi naira do u fink i can survive by campus job,loan or any legal means

as regards visa application.i got admission into a US university but no funding aldoh dey sed if i do well after first semester i stand d chance of getting funding but i shld send an acct stmt of 4.1million naira to get I20 issue. Which am about to do but my question is
1) since d school require dis amount of 4.1m naira n av bin saving cos av bin working for five yrs now n all i culd get for my savings n friends hlp is 4.5m can i go to d embassy with a statement of account in my name (cos technically, i will be d one to sponsor myself )showing dis amount of 4.5m naira. Will it affect me?

2)d truth is i do not have uncle dat can sponsor me n my dad n mum dont have such an amount to be frank please what do i do cos am so disturbed cos of dis account statement.
3)will dey not say am a potential immigarnt?
4)Is it possible n av u seen a situation were student sponsor demselves for masters yet dey are not bounced?
