get an electrician to run a different wire connection from the mains for the hot plate. You're risking that building by doing that stuff. It's enough to burn that building

He should use the 6/6 cooker socket, that's why it is there to serve that purpose no need to run another wire

Nothing is follow come toks original. Na original one wey dem don use. Go buy new original one not the fake. ABB, Ctech, A&T etc are original ones.

An electrician should do this job for you, I'm sure you don't want to plug that hot plate on a 1mm wire, nah fire outbreak loading, you need to ascertain if the existing wiring connection can carry it

You're right and can be wrong at the same time Sha.

For that 6/6 cooker socket the minimum standard wire connected to it would be 2.5mm, also a 1mm original Nigerian cable will carry the hotplate.

Buy a 15Amp 3-pin plug and cut off the the 2-pin plug on the cooker. Plug it directly in to the wall. The adaptor your are using can't take the heat.

I have this 4-faced hot plate I use in my kitchen. In my previous apartment, i could plug in the plug of the hot plate into the socket on the wall (similar to the one shown in one the attached pics), but it damaged the socket badly till it stopped working. I had to pack up the hot plate. I have now moved to a new apartment, so I got a multi-purpose fuse/socket (pic attached) and plugged in the hot plate before plugging it directly to the socket on the wall, but in less than 10mins, it has already started melting the fuse. I just tire.

Has anyone experienced this before? How did you go about resolving it? Thanks.

If you're to use that 6/6 cooker socket on the wall.

1. To use socket. Get original 13amps any of ABB, Ctech or A&T plug cut off the plug and replace with the 13amps plug. Note use flexible wire to connect fuse inside. Whenever you want to use the hotplate use the second switch that socket is written on to power the hotplate

2. To use cooker. Cut off the plug, loose the 6/6 cooker socket connect to the wire to cooker outlet which is the first (note u will see L out which either red or brown will enter and N out which either black or blue will enter, pending the colour of wire in the hotplate). Whenever u want to use your hotplate you will use the first switch (cooker) to ON it.

My tec gen of over a year is giving me issues. I bought it new from one of their verified distributor. Lately, it started consuming too much oil. I top it every two days and change it every two weeks. Until recently, I hardly turn it on. I use it like 5 hours daily. The mechanic is saying the piston is bad. Will changing the piston solve this problem or should I just continue managing it like that? Also, what is the likely cause of this problem? Anticipating your kind response.

What's the kva of the tech gen.
Wetin u dey use the gen for after a year don dey give issues.
Consuming too much oil, do u mean it shorts oil, if yes does it smokes, any oil leakages, what load do you use it to carry for every 5hours daily.
Also if u run ur gen for 5hours daily endeavor to change the oil every 2weeks

As for your mechanic he isn't truthful to you cos no tec original piston and ring dey outside especially those TEC wey dey carry tiny ring, there is generic of 7k and 20k own both won't last either or last more than 2months with your usage.

If you can't cope

Will only advise conversion to sumec which u will change shaft rod, connecting rod and piston assy

Try change oil to another brand, if it's same issue. Contact a very good engineer to check it for you

Suco01. Good dey..I have a big firman gen. Bought in 2015. No single issue. Except one time a mech came to change one small thing. Gen has been fine. I just changed the plug that came with a year ago.
We bought two though. The other one, we gave to mother in-law. That one has since a host of different mechanics. I'm very careful with my things though.
Now I'm planning on getting a small gen. I'm not really good with the power rating of gens so I will describe them by size. Firstly, I don't want the small tiger series. I no get power for their witchcraft. I want something a bit bigger than that. There is this one called senwei. Is it any good. There is also a sumec( 1800)., a kemage and a maxi of same level/size.
Which will you advise?

Any one wey you choose, go to their mega store and buy no buy from those accredited sellers cos them too get magogo.

The problem started since the second day I bought it, it refused starting. I took it back to Oyingbo where I bought it, the guy told me it was the cabeurator that needed to be changed, he changed it and it worked there, I brought it back home, a week after, it refused starting, brought in a mechanic, he did something it started. After about a month, I started noticing the oil fast shortage cause the red oil alert light wouldn't let it start, then this was happening almost every 3 days till it became a ritual.

3 months in, the engine knocked, the mechanic said the gen was fake and it might be best I changed the engine and got an original engine. I couldn't imagine spending another 40k on a gen I bought 3 months before, so he just changed the piston and ring and some other stuffs.. Since the change, the oil changing reduced to 1 day or 2 days... Aside from the periodical not-starting that the mechanic would have to come touch something before it started, this is what forced me to changing the plug every month, so that maybe it would reduce the once in a while non starting and also most times it would just trip off after working for like 30mins

Just last night, I started it, and 2mins in, it just went off, the same way it did the first time it knocked. It's refused to start and sounds as though something inside it is broken, I'm just too tired to even call the mechanic

Power Usage: House bulbs - led lights, 2 standing fans, 1 laptop, 32 Inch TV and GoTv Decoder, LG Boom sound system. That's all it powers at the maximum

To sum it up the generator you bought is either fake or defaulted products. You didn't get it at their store. You should have asked for refund or another one that second day you returned it who knows you might not be facing this. The best is Count your loss and get another new one from their stores not even at accredited sales outlet anymore cos those guys mixed original with their fake or you go for thermocool. Also ditch that fucking mechanic

Generator Loudness is inevitable, it's expected in as much it runs smoothly and sounds well you have no problem. Load also make generator give louder noise take note of this too

How many hours did u run in 2weeks, any leakage or oil drop under the generator, are u sure oil is well guage when oil is changed?
