I love to connect with new people. That is about me. Just got back from Zakynthos. You can easily see the whole island in a week and a hired car is the way to do it. The island's bus service routes all run out from and back to the bus station in Zante town. Town is a great base to stay with plenty to see and do but not all of the island is covered by the bus service. Another point to consider is that most of the bus routes cease running in the late afternoon. I did pre-book for my Zakynthos Airport Transfer arrival. The man was charming, was waiting for me when I exited the secure area and the ride to Zakynthos Hotel was quick. This was a silly bucket list item for me...have person with sign waiting for me leaving flight. LOL. Now, I had just arrived in Greece and hadn't fully learned the Greek Alphabet yet so did want any hassles with the 'subway'.

I just got back from my trip to Greece so I`m hoping to add my 2 cents if I can offer a perspective. My trip was 2 days Heraklion with Heraklion Airport Transfer, 2 days Sifnos, 3 days Santorini, and 4 days Athens. It was an excellent trip with so much diversity, it was incredible! Crete was by far the best island in my opinion. Only one night was spent in Heraklion because we went to Sougia to walk a gorge and see Sophia's Cave (I think that is it's name). Knossos was fabulous but Chania stole my heart. Such charm in the older part of the city. A million shops, fabulous places to eat and beautiful as well. In Santorini, Old Oia Houses was magnificent and reasonable priced (relatively speaking).

Greece. Greece is by far my favourite place in the world. As you say, the food and beaches are incredible – but for me, the Greeks are the friendliest folk I’ve ever met! From all the blogs I have read looking for information about Greece, this https://aktis.app/en is the best ever!

My Fiance & I are travelling to Greece for our honeymoon.
I've spent a lot of time researching & feel I have a reasonable idea of what we should do but would be very appreciative of your expertise!
We would like to spend 5/6 nights in Crete before going to Santorini for 5/6 nights. We will then come back and spend 2 nights in Athens to see the famous sights before flying home.
My first questions is- would you recommend booking hotels and transfers through a travel agency or do you think it would be cheaper doing it ourselves.
Is it true that it can be difficult to work out the boats/transfers between the islands - do you have any advice to make this as easy as possible.
And we just want a magical hotel situated near the beach and a village/town with fantastic local food!
