What a shame. It's not fair to kidnap anyone, celebrity or not. But it's extra shocking when popular, admirable stars are robbed, harmed, and now kidnapped. I hope it's not going to be a trend. Or else every one from Aki & Pawpaw to Zebrudaya will be running to a safer country! |
What, a S.W.A.T. team just fi arrest the beastie? Yeh mon! Okay, it's not funny but lady can sing. Not every serious message has to be sent with too much seriousness. She has made a point, tho' the song is a bit too groovy for the painful topic. shrug |
@ Myne White It's a warm, big story you've got there. It's the kind that sort of grows on its readers. I'm looking forward to the budding romance btw Gladys and Edward. But let me give you a secret tip, from one writer to another: I try as much as possible to avoid giving my star characters mundane, every day names. I could spend a week trying to think up or find an exotic name for my main female/male character, so that they draw your attention from the first page even before you start to know them. All in all, a cuteish novel. Do something ambitious to it, babe! ![]() |
@ brein, Half human? I wish I was!!!! ![]() I've always dreamed of writing a successful fantasy novel: realistic characters in an unrealistic setting. I'm trying to get away with this "Dreamkind" novel. I have a vision, but it's tougher than I thought to actualise it!! @ Myne White, U're right, I've run completely out of ideas. But what thrills me is that this entirely, completely my original idea, no one else's . So it'll come when it'll come. I'll check out your own excerpts, never fear. NL readers are a bit slow in encouraging writers, the whole lit thread is on its last legs , but with people like you, maybe we can bring it back to life!! |
@Ubiero, Boss bitch, cisse7575, thanks for all ur comments. I would gladly send u guys the whole unfinished manuscript - but I'm worried that once you read it, you'll harrass me into finishing it!!lol. And I'm not ready to finish it (Yes, I can be such a lazybones!) @ cisse7575, I just posted excerpts, so there'll lots of parts missing where I made descriptions, details etc that would give the feeling of immediacy. But your pointers have been noted, any writer would be happy to hear constructive critique. ![]() |
Not that I think NL is the best place to look for a solution, but I think you should talk to some alternative medicine practitioners. There are some "natural" ways to manage even chronic asthma so that you and your spouse-to-be can have a normal life together. |
Yeah, like it's a family affair or somethin'. Once he started hiring in-laws and family members instead of actual professionals, it all went downhill from there. |
congoshine, if you go, I go . In fact, I'm finishing off my potentially last post right now. I really don't have the stomach for all this B.S. Right behind you, dude. ![]() I'm well assured, that if you or I go, NL would be poorer for it. ![]() |
@ spikedcylinder, Hmm'n, far from being jealous, I'm impressed and moved. Being hopelessly romantic, positive-minded and plain-thinking, I share the feelings of all well-meaning members who have encouraged and admired the OP for his manly quest. And congoshine, ![]() |
What's up, OP, can't find your topic? ![]() It's in the general discussion section, under nairaland forum, inside-----oh no, I can't find it either!!! Just how come I can't find this topic from any of the head threads on the homepage? Hmm'n: "How To Get Rid Of An Irksome Topic: Dump it in the reclusive "Nairaland" section." This is bang out of order. The GEM strikes again!!! oops, positively speeding off now to the farthest planet in the spectrum, 'cos when the sh*t hits da fan------- |
To watch a topic, but don't speak. Because if you speak, you may just be unlucky enough to hold an unpopular opinion. And it goes downhill from there: it either turns into an insult tournament, thereby the whole purpose of the topic is soon forgotten, OR, you automatically change your opinion just to save the precious peace, and your precious dignity. This is what I have learned from NL. ![]() |
Moved again, huh? . Seems I'll have to install a tracker to keep tabs on my favourite topics. ![]() Running for dear life now to avoid any backlash from the usual suspects . . . . |
Me, I've only seen a few bits of the show, in total, not more than three or four hours. I certainly don't stay glued to it from 9-9 everyday. It doesn't take five minutes of watching to know that it leaves much to be desired. I'd rather watch grass grow, than Koko show. ![]() |
For the sake of those who genuinely wish to come in here and give their honest opinion for and against, I will now gracefully refrain from further posting on this thread(and unlike some people, I do have the self-will to say it and mean it), because it seems my opinion has left me open for attack and wrongful castigation. I can see NL is breeding a generation of pretenders who hide behind an innocent face of deceit just to win props from others. That said, I hope for the day to actually come across members with that elusive mix of maturity, objectivity and respect for other people's opinions. |
Hmmn, Miss Bitch-in-Training has come in to give her two cents. You're beneath contempt, I won't even dignify your weak attempt at an insult with a reply, michelin89 |
Wow, spikedcylinder, you just can't stop, can you? Even when you say you will, you simply can't. It's part of your very essence. Ms. snappy comeback queen. Well, keep doing what you do, maybe that's what got you where you are today, so it must be working for you somehow. ![]() |
It's okay spikedcylinder, if you feel that way. It's just what I (and if I am to believe what has been said by some other posters of repute) have noted about you. Nothing personal. ![]() |
You may not know, but I've taken note of you, spikedcylinder, because any time I come along your posts, you never seem to have anything nice to say. It's like you just sweat negativity from your pores. It's just an impression I have. Maybe on a deeper examination, there might be more. But I doubt it. |
^^^See what I'm saying? Negativity impersonified. |
Hahaaaahaaa, see this walking garbage can called whitelexi. Someone who came on here, gave her opinion, against someone who came here, gave his opinion laced with insult against the former person: between the two, who needs to grow up? Lesson: don't come here to judge, say your mind but don't dis me when I say mine. I hope a day won't come when people will be scared to give their own opinions, versions and thoughts just because of what people like you will call them. |
And as for you, spikedcylinder, thank you for that observation, but mine is not a habit like yours. You are a study in negativity, I only find it easy to retaliate when I feel wronged. Yours is just your modus operandi. But like you said, you know how you do. ![]() |
Hmmn, whitelexi, now it's a joke, abi? Well, you told me what you thought of me, and I was merely returning the favour. Anyway, being who you are, I'm sure you know all about girls with stinking mouth. Animal lover. I still maintain, you no dey my category. Quench. |
But I have seen some threads where NLanders only post in Ibo or Yoruba, so to each his own. If you want to do your thing in your own language, like it has been pointed out, investigate and find where and how on NL. |
Vuitton or Ghana-must-go, mind yua self. Talk about someone you do know. No use cheap publicity for here . |
^^^^What - ever . Do what you have to do bro. Or sis. |
With a name like al-qaeda, I'm sure you're very welcome where ever you go. Please, when you start posting your own real picture and use your true names, then I would feel like you are being serious. ![]() |
@ henryhemon only to guys? I beg to differ!!!!! I have been on the receiving end of the world-famous aggressiveness. I know other females have too, "princess" included. But off I go now to run and hide----sorry I didn't wear my safety helmet today, I'm not primed for another catfight. ![]() sorry, I know it's guys only, bt---- |
^^^^who's dis one ![]() don't come and terrorize any one here with this your bombozzle CAPS. shioorrr and lol. |
"The average Nigerian girl" does not enjoy feeling used. I've seen guys who doggedly go after a girl, pretending to love her, and feels its okay to want her to trust and love him enough to jump into bed with him before marriage, but can never lift a finger to help her when she's in need, just because he feels "it's over my dead body to give my gf money, is it payment etc. The bottom line of what I have been saying, is that, be more generous and trusting. Not everyone is a materialistic shark. Spending or giving does not make you a mugu. Yes, some girls have "scrapped" many guys, even using the money given by innocent bfs to finance their other bobos. Shit happens. But if you go into a r/ship thinking every girl who needs you to support her once in a while or regularly is a gold-digging leech, then too effing bad. |
You may twist my words any way you like to suit your filthy mind; but just for the sake of clarity I will give you the point I've been trying to make: where the guy happens to be more financially buoyant than the babe, he should learn to be giving and supportive financially. Never did i state the girl should "demand" allowance. My man doesn't wait for me to start begging for anything; being who he is, he knows how he would treat his own mother or sister if they needed him, and he treats me just the same. It is this love, support and generosity that has won him my full and deepest devotion. And for that one wondering what he looks like, trust me, his looks match his pocket. He is total eye candy. So go and quench. |
You're welcome; you know i got ur back. . But dis one you're ![]() |
whitelexi or what ever you are called, I know your type, your antecedents and your level; you're not worth licking one of my toenails. You and that barely intelligible person who has posted above me^^^^^^^^, kelvinj. I won't repeat myself so I suggest you re-read my posts, but next time with more objectivity and maturity. |
Okay, it's not funny but lady can sing. Not every serious message has to be sent with too much seriousness. She has made a point, tho' the song is a bit too groovy for the painful topic.

. So it'll come when it'll come. I'll check out your own excerpts, never fear. NL readers are a bit slow in encouraging writers, the whole lit thread is on its last legs
, but with people like you, maybe we can bring it back to life!!
