The reason why power has not improved is these Devil @ TCN, the are the RED tapes remaining in the power industry.Who do you think is responsible for all the power i infrastructures between the GENCOs and the DICOs? answer the TCN, Transmission company of Nigeria. They are another band of civil servants in the power sector, just like the NNPC. Oshin56: I believed you partially and I don't still believe you, did you think those staff looking for there daily bread are the causes of it, if you are talking about the Senior managers ( SM) I can believe you and they will still retain them when the privatization take place. Does Nigeria need the TCN? Does it make sense to generate electricity in Lagos (Egbin) and transmit it to the North or vice versa from Kanji Dam to Lagos? Egbin should serve the SW and Kainji Dam in the Middle Belt, then the transmission cost would be reduced, and the focus would be on electricity generation and distribution. BTW NNPCL should be scraped immediatelly |

HighQue007: The problem of all of you is that you are not being realistic or probably ignorance. Do you think our electricity can be fixed with a snap of a finger.. smh Electricity is not rocket science, especially if you have available sources such as Gas, Wind, Solar and Hydro. GRID electricity has five pillars: governance, source(Hydro, Solar, Wind, Thermal) generation, transmission, distribution and consumption. Transmission seems to be the major problem due to the lack of infrastructure and poor management by TCN. Replace TCN with regional distribution. The North should depend on their local energy sources such as Wind, Hydro and Solar. Let states and regions take ownership of their electricity requirements. The existing electricity plants should be allocated to the regions where they are allocated; the SE already has 2000 MW. The federal government should focus on building more Hydro Dams in Northern Nigeria instead of wasting valuable resources on the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Road. There are reasons why the Southern states overcame their education problems in the 1960s by using universal primary education and local solutions for local issues. |

tiswell: What's the desperation all about in this project?
Personal interests and aggrandizement I guess Tinubu is the major shareholder of Eko Atlantic Phase 1 and the proposed Phase 2; he needs a road network to open up his investment and connect it to Lekki Deepsea Port, another one of his investments. Tinubu is building a Dubai for himself and a selected few. |

naptu2: David Fatunmbi @davidfatunmbi Preliminary impact assessment certification is not acceptable for the multi-billion project. Before you can proceed with a project of this magnitude, you must complete a full impact assessment with all stakeholders' approval. Has the community been impacted, and what is the impact on Nigeria's biodiversity and climate change? Only in Nigeria will a project be implemented without due process and proper governance. That's why nobody wants to invest in Nigeria |

They've used that tool so well in Lagos to win guber elections and have brought it to national politics. It is a shame that Umahi who joined APC yesterday has adopted this same strategy. APC is a hopeless organisation; their corruption and greed might lead Nigeria to another war |

SoNature: Federal government should sell its power assets to states, private sector or make it a PPP. Tinubu has already signed the power bill, allowing states to handle the three sections of the electricity industry.
States should start generating, transmitting and distributing power. How long do we have to continue with this madness called national grid to admit that it's not working? Every day it keeps collapsing like it's epileptic. The National Grid is a failed project. I suggest a state and regional grid. Nigeria already has 15,000 MW. If these plans are sold to the state, there is a better chance that they can meet 90% of the generation capacity. |
