Properties / Re: The Construction Of 14 Class Room At Emuhoa Community Rivers State by sule4: 3:48pm On May 22, 2015
In lay man's term I.e one bag of cement to what and what head pan of gravel and sharp sand. Is it cement, sand and gravel.
Is the strength of the product same as that of using granites?

The 4 units of 2 bedrooms is creatively splendid. What damage is it gonna do to one's pocket on average to erect, standard finishings only. Thanks.

Doing 10 coaches is about 9ft. So cutting a rod into 4 pieces may do... that means 1 rod per pillar.
Please this is just an estimate not an actual calculations... just to guide you. Thanks.

I understand. Thank you so much for helping me avoid been taken to the cleaners again.

It depends on how tall your fence will be.. Each 12mm or 16mm iron rod length is about 39ft. So cutting one into three should do it or
4 if it's a short fence..

Doing 10 coaches.

.. but nothing beats concrete pillars if you can afford it.

Hajji M.
One more question mufutau55, what's the length of 12mm rod that's required for each pillar, in fencing. Thanks for all you're doing.

Yes. You could use gravels but granite is far better for pillars. Just spend the little difference and use granites.

Hajji M.
Mufutau55, please is using blocks for pillars as viable as concrete pillars in fencing a plot of land? Thanks.

60 bags to plaster a 3 bedroom flat is way too much. I used 25 bags to plaster a 2 bedroom flat (in and out). Each room is 12ft by 13ft, the sitting room is 18ft by 15ft, the dining is 10ft by 10ft. The 3 bathrooms and the kitchen were not plastered since they will be tiled.
Stpat1, about how much did you spend on putting up your 2 bedroom flat? If you don't mind sharing. Thanks.

For this 2bdrm flat storey building this cost I will assume perfct fot the project and for the pix below that exactly will go for the quote

Sand for the whole carcass work to roof 10trucks @ 18,000=180k
190bags of cement @1950= 370,500
9inches blocks, 3,200 blocks @ 150= 480,000
6inches blocks, 2,200 blocks @130= 286,000
60tons of granite @ 150,000 per 30tons= 300,000
1and1/2 tons of 16mm @115k per ton= 172,250
1 ton of 12mm @115 per ton= 115,000
20trucks of laterite @ 10k per truck= 200,000
1x12x12 80length @700 = 56,000
4 and 3inches 1bag each= 11,000
Stirrups 1 tons= 70,000

General labour= 700,000
Supervision= 300,000
Decking= 1,700,000

This quote is based on the experience I had in a project in ondo state I think the prices there are similar or less than this but for the quantity of material that's what you will be needing
We really appreciate you Eghosajohny for making things so explicit like a Pro that you're. Thanks.

OrientNigeria, is there any way you can help with a chronological breakdown of this 10 mill; I'm currently undergoing such project. I already sent more than that amount to my eldest half-brother, we just now completed the decking. My biggest problem is time factor, couple with the fact that he's an Engineer.

is it alright to use gravels instead of granites, for pillars in erecting a bungalow? Thanks to all the experienced builders in the house.

Abebaxton, the location is Benin City. The land is dry.
The reason why I'm advocating pillars is because a jack of all trade did my mom's for me 16 years ago, a year later the fence collapsed, only for him to tell me, sorry oga!
