Lilith (/ˈlɪlɪθ/; Hebrew: לִילִית‎ Lîlîṯ) is a demonic figure in Judaic mythology, supposedly the primordial she-demon and alternately first wife of Adam. Interpretations of Lilith found in later Jewish materials are plentiful, but little information has survived relating to the Sumerian, Akkadian, Assyrian and Babylonian view of this class of demons. While researchers almost universally agree that a connection exists, recent scholarship has disputed the relevance of two sources previously used to connect the Jewish lilith to an Akkadian lilītu – the Gilgamesh appendix and the Arslan Tash amulets.[9] (see below for discussion of these two problematic sources) "Other scholars, such as Lowell K. In Hebrew-language texts, the term lilith or lilit (translated as "night creatures", "night monster", "night hag", or "screech owl" first occurs in a list of animals in Isaiah 34,[10] either in singular or plural form according to variations in the earliest manuscripts. The Isaiah 34:14 Lilith reference does not appear in most common Bible translations such as KJV and NIV. Commentators and interpreters often envision the figure of Lilith as a dangerous demon of the night, who is sexually wanton, and who steals babies in the darkness. In the Dead Sea Scrolls 4Q510-511, the term first occurs in a list of monsters. Jewish magical inscriptions on bowls and amulets from the 6th century AD onwards identify Lilith as a female demon and provide the first visual depictions of her.

Deji Adeyanju, popular Nigerian activist has joined those questioning the source of Obi Cubana’s wealth.

Adeyanju on his Twitter page called for caution as he opined that rich men don’t throw money the way it ‘rained’ at the burial ceremony at Oba, Anambra state.

Making reference to Hushpuppi who showcased his lifestyle on social media before he was arrested in Dubai, Adeyanju warned Cubana and others spraying bundles of Naira note to be careful of attracting the FBI and EFCC.

On his Twitter page, the activist wrote: “This was how some of us kept asking what Hushpuppi was doing that he was throwing money up and down but we were called names and insulted. Today, he is in an American jail.

International detective, Sam Nwanti, has jettisoned his presidential candidature on the platform of the Labour Party to join the All Progressives Congress, APC, ahead of the 2019 general elections.
He made this known during the weekend in a terse statement issued to journalists via email by his publicist, Emeh ThankGod.
Nwanti revealed that the decision to step down his ambition was based on the need to support President Muhammadu Buhari’s fight against corruption as well as efforts to get the country working again.

The Bayelsa State Governor, Seriake Dickson, has showered hundreds of millions of naira on former President Goodluck Jonathan.

Dickson donated six hectares of land to the Goodluck Ebele Jonathan Foundation and also presented the Certificate of Occupancy to him.

Dickson also announced a donation of N100m to the Foundation on behalf of the state government.


The governor also said that the state government will be giving the foundation a monthly N5m grant throughout his tenure.

He added that the state will purchase 1,000 copies of Jonathan’s book at an undisclosed amount.

Ex-President Goodluck Jonathan is launching his book, My Transition Hours, as part of the activities marking his 61st birthday.

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has approved the immediate construction of the Fruits and Vegetables Market in D/Line, which was gutted by fire recently.

The governor also approved the release of compensation to traders who were affected by the inferno at the market.In an interview on Friday, Special Adviser to the Rivers State Governor on Special Projects, Dax George Kerley stated that the contractors will be mobilised to site on Tuesday next week, while actual construction will start on Wednesday , October 24, 2018.

The new Fruit and Vegetables Market will have four buildings (one storey each) and eight buildings (bungalow), designed to promote commercial activities.

Other facilities in the market include: 232 Open Stalls, 72 Lock Up Shops, Toilet Blocks, car park, drainage, internal roads, a warehouse, generator, transformer, perimeter fence and a security house.

Governor Wike approved the release of N400,000 (Four Hundred Naira) compensation to each of the 213 Traders operating inside the market.

The governor also approved the release of N300,000 (Three Hundred Thousand Naira) each to 200 other traders operating around the market.

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has declared that all Nigerians irrespective of political affiliation must rise up to sack the most inefficient Federal Government since the country gained independence.

Addressing journalists after a Thank You Visit by the PDP Presidential Candidate and Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar at the Government House Port Harcourt on Sunday Evening, Governor Wike said that all PDP leaders and well-meaning Nigerians have a duty to form a united front to sack the failed APC Federal Government.

He said though different party leaders supported different aspirants, with the emergence of Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar as the party's Presidential Candidate, all hands must be on deck for the good of the country.

The governor said: "We have no party that will salvage the country other than the PDP. A candidate has emerged and we owe it a duty to see that the party takes over from the most inefficient and ineffective party in control of the FG.

"We are one family. You may support aspirant A or B, but once a candidate emerges , you owe it a duty to make sure your party returns to power.

"We are doing everything we can to ensure that we don't give APC any gap. They have failed Nigerians and we will take over in 2019".

He said that the successful hosting of the National Convention in Port Harcourt has once again shown that Port Harcourt is a peaceful location for national events.

"My happiness today is that the convention was successful and it went on without hitches", he said.

In his remarks, PDP Presidential Candidate and Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar said that the entire country must work towards ending the failed APC Federal Government in 2019.

He said: "The entire country needs a new government. Definitely, we don't need APC to return to power in 2019".

He said the country has gone through challenges ranging from recession, unemployment, insecurity and lack of unity. He said the country needs to chart a new direction in the interest of the people.

Atiku said that it is time for the people of Rivers State to consolidate their support for the PDP in the state.

He said: "I came to personally congratulate the Governor, people and Government of Rivers State and also thank him for hosting a most successful convention ".

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar was accompanied on the Thank You Visit by Former Ogun State Governor, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, Former Anambra State Governor, Mr Peter Obi, PDP National Chairman, Prince Uche Secondus, Senator Ben Murray Bruce, Senator Sam Anyanwu, Former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt Hon Austin Opara and Edo State PDP Chairman, Chief Dan Orbih.
