Foreign AffairsDr. Ben Carson’s Mother, Sonya Carson Has Died ! by sunky97(op): 4:33am On Nov 08, 2017
Sonya Carson, the mother of Dr. Ben Carson, the United States Secretary of Housing and Urban Development under the Trump Administration, died Monday.
Dr. Carson and his wife Candy announced his mother’s death on their Facebook page. Sonya had been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease in 2011.
While campaigning for the 2016 Republican nomination for president, Carson often quoted stories about his mother’s work ethic. According to her son, she worked two or three jobs when they lived in Boston because she refused to rely on welfare programs.
“She was a little different than a lot of people around, who were always saying, ‘You got two boys. You really don’t need to work’. She just didn’t like the idea of being dependent,” he told Politico.
He often credited his mother’s example for his own faith in God. Carson’s life was documented in the movie Gifted Hands.

In an interview several years ago when the film was released on DVD, Sonya told CBN, ‘God is greater than any human being, and we have to rely on God to supply all our needs even though we don’t see how we’re going to get them.”
He posted the following tribute to his mother on Facebook.
November 6, 2017 we lost my dear mother, Sonya Carson.
Although she came from an impoverished background with very little formal education, she somehow understood how success was achieved in our society.
If anyone had a reason to make excuses, it was her, but she absolutely refused to be a victim and would not permit us to develop the victim mentality either.
Whenever we made an excuse, she quoted the poem “Yourself to Blame.”

The poem is included in this post.
May she rest in peace.
Yourself to Blame by Mayme White Miller
If things go bad for you
And make you a bit ashamed
Often you will find out that
You have yourself to blame
Swiftly we ran to mischief
And then the bad luck came
Why do we fault others?
We have ourselves to blame
Whatever happens to us,
Here is what we say
“Had it not been for so-and-so
Things wouldn’t have gone that way.”
And if you are short of friends,
I’ll tell you what to do
Make an examination,
You’ll find the faults in you…
You are the captain of your ship,
So agree with the same
If you travel downward
You have yourself to blame

Christianity EtcTen Keys To Raising Godly Children by sunky97(op): 4:54am On Nov 05, 2017
When I minister in churches, couples often ask, “How can I raise Godly children”? I sense these parents are longing for me to give them a formula in which to input their offspring so that children who love and respect the Lord will pop out. However, as most seasoned parents understand, this cannot be reduced to a formula, but requires a great amount of wisdom gleaned from biblical principles. Therefore, please understand these ten keys are not meant to be an all inclusive parenting manual, but rather major biblical points of consideration that God has shown Debbie and me over the last thirty years as we raised our four sons. We readily admit that we made mistakes along the way, but our God was gracious to confirm what we did right and to gently teach us through our mistakes. Hopefully you can benefit from all He has shown us.
1) Develop a Passionate Relationship with God
In Deuteronomy 6:5-6, God instructs parents:
You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.
How enlightening that before God commands parents to diligently teach their children (v. 7), He first instructs them to passionately love Him (vv. 5-6)! God wants parents to understand that they cannot transfer to their children what they do not possess themselves. The foundation for both a great marriage and successful parenting is to love the Lord supremely above every other love.

2) Strong Marriages Add Stability to a Child’s Life
Many times a pastor will ask me the question, “Which conference should I schedule first– a marriage or parenting conference?” Without hesitation I reply, “A marriage conference. If your couples’ marriages are not sound, their parenting will be hindered.” It is not easy to raise children when you have a strong marriage, but nearly impossible when you have a shaky marriage! Solidify your marriage. Apply the principles from these suggested resources; What Did You Expect? (book), Celebration of Marriage Conference, What is Marriage? and Leading with Love (messages on mp3). Only when each spouse passionately loves God (key 1), will they correctly love each other and have the strong marital foundation needed for successful parenting.
If you are a single parent, pray for strength and wisdom to show respect and avoid negative put downs of the parent that is no longer in the home. Also, if the ex-spouse is pursuing an ungodly lifestyle and he or she has visitation rights, you must prepare your children to respond respectfully and righteously in the undesirable environment.
3) Make the Word of God Your Standard
We are living in a day that offers as many views on parenting as there are parents. It has been my experience tharadition (how they were reared by parents or grandparents), books written by a children’s psychologist, or advice from pediatricians such as Dr. Benjamin Spock who wrote the book, Baby and Childcare. Unfortunately, many fail to consult the book authored by the One who created the family unit. God’s Word is full of instruction about training children. It is the standard that we are to use to raise children that are God fearing. He has also gifted some Christians with the wisdom to write effective biblically based books on parenting. I highly recommend Shepherding a Child’s Heart(parents with young children) and Age of Opportunity (parents with teenage children).
4) Parents Must Be on the Same Page
One common source of marital strife is disagreements concerning child rearing. To successfully parent their children a mom and dad must be on the same page. As previously stated, that page needs to be the Word of God. In Amos 3:3, God asks, “Can two people walk together without agreeing on the direction?” The obvious answer is – No! Parents must make a commitment to search the Scriptures and read biblically based books that direct them to be in harmony. If parents are not in agreement, their children will skillfully manipulate to get their way.
5) Protect Your Children
In a culture that is infiltrated with humanistic thought, sexual immorality, ungodly media, pedophiles, and false teachers, to name but a few, it is absolutely essential that parents take responsibility for their children’s wellbeing. A major part of protection is to teach children truth so they will recognize lies that are seeking to take root in their hearts. Parents must have a fresh realization that it is not primarily the church’s responsibility to protect the mind or to train their child. It is their God ordained duty! J.I. Packer writes of the Puritan family:
It was the husband’s responsibility to channel the family into religion; to take them to church on the Lord’s day, and the oversee the sanctifying of that entire day in the home; to catechize the children, to teach them the faith; to examine the whole family after each sermon, to see how much had been retained and understood, and to fill in any gaps in understanding that might remain; To lead the family in worship daily, ideally twice a day, and to set a Godly example at all times and in all matters. To this end he must take time to learn the faith that he is charged to teach.
Can you imagine what a difference it would make if fathers re-instituted this spiritual discipline in their homes? Dads, I challenge you to make family devotions a priority.
Parents must shield their children by monitoring television, installing filters on internet, regulating and olters on internet, regulating and overseeing the use of cell phones, and reviewing books and materials that are used at school. Also, they must safeguard their children from a society filled with pedophiles by not allowing them to be alone with anyone (even friend or relative) they do not completely know or trust. Protection also includes training children to resist and report any improper touch.
6) Bless Your Children
The necessity of bestowing blessings is frequently overlooked. There are many children today who are desperately pleading like Esau, “Bless me, even me also, O my father” (Genesis 27:34).
When mothers and fathers brought children to Jesus the disciples reprimanded these parents. But, Jesus immediately rebuked the disciples and encouraged the children to come to Him (Mark 10:13-16). In a message I preach titled Bestowing a Blessing, I remind parents that Jesus blessed these children in three important ways that they should also emulate:
Jesus took time for the children.
Jesus tenderly touched the children and offered loving affirmation.
Jesus used a tempered tongue with the children.
To bless your child is to speak a message that attaches high value and pictures a special future for them with an active commitment as a parent to help them fulfill it. Bestowing a Blessingelaborates on how to effectively incorporate these principles into family life. Make sure you take time to regularly bless each of your children.

Jobs/Vacancies10 Tricky Interview Questions And How To Answer Them by sunky97(op): 6:09am On Oct 30, 2017
Are you smarter than an interviewer? If you prepare properly, you will be.
During a job interview, employers sometimes ask tricky questions to trip you up – not out of maliciousness, but to get an accurate sense of your candidacy. Interviewers know that you’ve probably practiced all of the traditional questions, so they try to stump you with trickier ones to get a better idea of your background, your communication skills, and how you’ll perform should they offer you the job.
Here are the 10 trickiest interview questions meant to trip you up, with suggestions on how to answer them and sample answers.

1. What’s your biggest weakness?

The Trap: The first step to fixing a problem is admitting it. When employers ask this question, it’s not just about figuring out your weaknesses, but about finding out whether or not you’re aware of them, and if you’re intending to make changes.
How to Answer: Be modest. We all have weaknesses, and it’s okay to mention some parts of your skill set that need work. But, give your weakness a silver lining, and use your answer as an opportunity to highlight other strengths and underscore your determination to keep getting better.
Sample Answer: “I’m a perfectionist – sometimes to a fault. While this means my work is always high-quality, I’ve realized that sometimes I spend more time obsessing over little details that don’t matter in the long-run, rather than moving on to my next task. I’m learning working on prioritizing between perfectionism and efficiency, and learning about time management and productivity strategies.”

2. Is this position a similar role to any other jobs you are considering?

The Trap: Your interviewer may have two goals in mind here. He or she may be angling to uncover where else you’re applying, or may be trying to get a better idea of your past experience, and your future professional goals. This can be a good way for interviewers to get a sense of your strongest skills and determine if you’ll actually be a good fit for the job.
How to Answer: If you’re applying for a variety of different positions, certainly don’t name them all – and don’t name-drop different companies. For one, you don’t want your employer to think that your skills and interests are totally all over the place. Of course, it’s good to have a wide-range of different abilities, but it’s most important to present yourself as the best fit for the specific job you’re applying for. For example, if you’re a writer who is also a project manager and you’re interviewing for project management jobs, you wouldn’t want to mention that you’re also applying to writing jobs. Fortunately, this is the type of question where it’s acceptable to give a general answer and then move on.
Sample Answer: “Yes, I am looking for jobs that fit this description. This is my preferred field, which I’m personally and professionally passionate about. Fortunately, the job description, requirement and responsibilities of this specific position seem best aligned with my experience and interests.”

3. Why do you want to work here?

The Trap: Employers want to figure out if you’ve done your research about the company, and whether you want this job, rather than any old job.
The Best Way to Answer: Don’t just say that you want to work there because there’s free gym access, complimentary coffee and a casual dress code. Make sure your answer has real meaning. Be enthusiastic in your answer and talk about how you connect with the company’s core values, their mission, and the work they do. Then, you can go into a little more detail about the specific position for which you’re applying.
Sample Answer: “I truly feel aligned with the company’s values, mission and goals. I connect with your belief in integrity in your work, in fostering an open, honest and supportive workplace, and your desire to better the lives of both your employees and your customers. I believe that this position, specifically, will provide a huge – and enjoyable – opportunity for me to contribute to your objectives and add value to the company as a whole.”

4. If you could work for any company, where would you work?

The Trap: Your interviewer may be trying to figure out how invested you are in their company, in addition to determining where else you might be looking to apply. People sometimes have trouble answering this type of question because they can’t decide if they should keep mum, or mention some other, big-name companies that they’ve interviewed with.
The Best Way to Answer: Don’t mention any specific companies. Think about if you were on a date, and your date asks, “If you could date anyone else in this restaurant, who would it be?” If you asked your date that question, what would you want to hear? Emphasize how the company you’re interviewing with is your top priority.
Sample Answer: “Actually, I’ve spent a lot of time during my job search researching different companies I might want to work at, and this company stood out the most. I share your mission, values and objectives and feel that I would really thrive in this type of work environment.”

5. Are you the type who checks email during your vacation?

The Trap: This is a tricky one. On one hand, you want to frame yourself as someone who is dedicated to their work. At the same time, employers know that employee health and wellness is a key factor to continuous success and want to make sure you’re smart about taking care of yourself even outside of the office. Burn-out is a real thing, and no matter how durable you think you are, everyone is human and everyone needs a little rest sometimes.
How to Answer: Confirm your dedication to getting your job done, but also convey your understanding that personal well-being is key to professional success.
Sample Answer: “I’m 100% dedicated to going above and beyond when it comes to fulfilling my responsibilities. That being said, I also know that it’s important to take care of myself to ensure my long-term success. I try not to work when I’m on official vacation. But, before I leave for a vacation, I always make sure all my duties are covered before signing off, and I do make sure my supervisor has my personal cell phone number should an emergency arise.”

6. Where do you see yourself in five years?

The Trap: Employers don’t want to invest in hiring, training and paying an employee who’s not going to stick around, or who’s going to change career paths. Though it’s becoming more and more common for people to spend less and less time at each job they hold, you certainly don’t want to give your employer any doubts about your commitment to the role.
The Best Way to Answer: You don’t have to profess that you absolutely see yourself with the same company. Instead, answer in a way that demonstrates your commitment to growing within your field. Employers want to hire employees who are self-motivated and who have an inner drive to better themselves, and keep learning. But, keep in mind that an employer may follow up with a question asking about specifics, so if possible have a few key tangible goals you’d like to accomplish.
Sample Answer: “I see myself working within this field, but I hope to have progressed to a higher level of responsibility, possess a greater degree of knowledge and advance and expand my skill set. I always want to keep learning, keep getting better, and I hope after five years my efforts will carry me closer and closer to becoming an expert at what I do. That being said, I’m also committed to staying happy and fulfilled with my career so that, too, factors into my five-year plans.”

7. What do you think your references will say about you?

The Trap: Employers want to see if you’re insecure about your references and if you’ll volunteer any negative information about your prior experience or your ability to succeed in your role.
The Best Way to Answer: Simply put, don’t fall for the trap, but do be modest. Under no circumstances should you offer up any negative information. Your references wouldn’t have agreed to serve as references if they weren’t willing to speak positively about you.
Sample Answer: “I’ve had a wonderful experience working with all of my references, so I do expect their testimonials to reflect all that we’ve accomplished together at work, along with positive rapport we share personally.”

8. Which part of the job description sounds most challenging, and why?

The Trap: Are you really as experienced as you say you are? When it comes to a job description, there will likely be aspects that you can ace, and aspects that will cause you some trouble. Employers want to know if your strengths align with their greatest needs.
The Best Way to Answer: A lie about your skills will come to haunt you later, so be honest. At the same time, use the answer as an opportunity to present yourself as a candidate who is always up for a challenge, and who is sharpening your skills to keep up with that challenge.
Sample Answer: “As a visual designer, the bulk of my experience has been in graphic design, specifically logos, posters and advertisement. I find dynamic web design more challenging, but challenges like that I live for. I just completed an online course on designing for mobile apps, and I’m currently taking another one in user experience design to ensure my abilities keep up with the latest trends.”

9 Tell me about your dream job.

The Trap: In many cases, passion breeds productivity. Dedication leads to success. Employers want to know just how invested you’ll be in the role, or if you see the job as a stop-gap measure just to keep up some income while you hunt for something better. Along the same lines, employers want to know if you love the idea of the job, or the job itself. Just because a job title sounds glamorous, doesn’t mean you’ll love the day-to-day work.
How to Answer: Is the job you’re applying for your dream job? If yes, then say so, emphatically. If your dream job is far-flung or far-fetched, it’s probably best not to mention it. You want the employer to understand that you’ll be fully invested in the position and not day-dreaming about some other position while you’re at desk. If the job you’re applying for is somewhere in between, you can tactfully frame your answer to convey that.
Sample Answer: “Advertising is my dream field and the junior copywriting position is an ideal placement for me right now. Of course, I know I have lots of learning to do before I can achieve my dream job – a creative director – and I believe this job will put me on that path.”

10. Everyone has one exaggeration on their job application. What’s yours?

The Trap: Will you fall for your interviewer’s attempt persuade you into admitting that’s an exaggeration or little white lie within your application? Hopefully not. And hopefully, your cover letter or resume is free from any mistruths. It’s never worth lying on your application.
How to Answer: Keep your cover letter and resume honest so you can be honest when you answer. (Did you lie on your resume? Here’s what to do.)
Sample Answer: “I’m confident that my cover letter, resume and portfolio accurately represent my experience and my work. You are welcome to reach out to the references I provided if you’d like them to vouch for my attributes.”

HealthWhat Happens To Your Body When You Stop Drinking Sugary Drinks by sunky97(op): 10:13pm On Oct 29, 2017
Quitting soft drinks like coke, pepsi, mountain dew, Big cola e.t.c will put all of your organs in better shape. Drinking Soft drinks increases your blood pressure, destroys your teeth, makes you fat, causes diabetes, causes heart disease, Soda consumption is linked to osteoporosis, increase your risk of kidney stones, heartburn, it’s linked with liver problems.
If you drink diet soda, your pop has some sort of artificial sweetener. If you drink full-calorie soda, chances are it has high fructose corn syrup. There are long debates about these ingredients and studies are not entirely conclusive, but both ingredients are artificial and are likely not good for you.
Soda is an addiction — similar to tobacco, alcohol, or drugs, it feels good when you consume it, but it can wreak havoc on your body long-term. As more and more research investigates the ill effects of sugary drinks on the human body (and the environment), it may be time for you to give it up, or at least reduce the amount you intake on a daily or weekly basis.
The evidence speaks for itself: Your health will drastically improve once you begin replacing your daily Coke or Mountain Dew with water. Pretty much every organ will benefit from quitting soda, as explained below.
Heart
First and foremost, you’ll be taking better care of your heart the moment you put down the soda. A 2012 Harvard University study found that sugary drinks increased a person’s risk of chronic heart disease (CHD). Participants who drank the most soda were 20 percent more likely to have a heart attack, the researchers discovered. Another study, published in 2011, found that sugary beverages raises a person’s blood pressure, and it increases the more you drink. Even cutting back by one soda per day can decrease your blood pressure and improve your heart health.
Brain
Many people reach for a Diet Coke or a soft drink in the drowsy after-lunch hours at work, hoping to get a caffeine and sugar boost. It may help you focus temporarily, but in the long-term drinking a lot of soda can have a negative effect on your brain function and thinking processes. One study found that long-term consumption of sugar could lead to impaired learning, memory, and behavioral plasticity.
“We have investigated a potential mechanism by which a diet, similar in composition to the typical diet of most industrialized western societies rich in saturated fat and refined sugar e and function via regulation of neurotrophins,” the authors of the study write. They found that animals placed on this high-sugar diet had reduced amounts of a chemical called brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), which in turn impacted their ability to learn and remember things.
Various other studies have also found a link between drinking a lot of soda and an increased risk of Alzheimer’s disease or other types of dementia; the link showed an increased amount of plaque deposits in mice that were given sugary sodas — signals of Alzheimer’s or other disorders.
Teeth
Soda destroys your teeth, so stepping away from this vice will lead you toward better oral health and a whiter smile. In some extreme cases, drinking a lot of soda can leave your mouth as corroded as that of a meth abuser, according to a 2013 study. In the study, researchers found that a woman who drank 2 liters of diet soda every day for three to five years had the same level of severe tooth erosion as that of a methamphetamine addict, as well as a crack cocaine addict. The citric acid in soda erodes tooth enamel, making it softer and more vulnerable to cavities and yellowing. Stepping away from soda and replacing it with water will protect and clean your teeth.
Bladder
Soda is a diuretic, essentially meaning that it will make you need to pee urgently and frequenou need to pee urgently and frequently. It has also been known to irritate your bladder and exacerbate bladder infections or urinary tract infections. Switching it out with drinking clear fluids, like water, unsweetened juices, or seltzer water, could instead help keep your body and bladder clean.
Bones
Abstaining from soda will also improve your bone health and decrease your risk of osteoporosis. In addition, the less soda you drink, the more you may turn to milk or other calcium-fortified drinks that will benefit your bones way more than soda ever would.
Kidney
Your kidney is also going to be in better shape once you kick the dirty sugar habit. Studies have shown that drinking a lot of soda can increase your risk of kidney disease and ultimately kidney failure. Diet sodas aren’t exempt from this damage, either: researchers from the Nurses’ Health Study found that women who drank a lot of diet soda every day had decreased liver function compared to women who didn’t drink soda. So stay away from it and your kidneys will thank you.
Reproductive Organs
In some cases, soda cans may contain bisphenol-A or BPA, which has been linked to an increased risk of cancer as well as impairment of endocrine function. Some studies have also shown that BPA is linked to premature puberty or infertility, essentially messing up a person’s reproductive organs.
According to the Breast Cancer Fund, BPA is one of the most common chemicals out there — exposed to us via food and drink containers to dental fillings. It’s a synthetic estrogen that impairs the hormonal system, increasing a person’s risk for breast cancer, prostate cancer, metabolic disorders, and even type 2 diabetes. Choose to lower your exposure to this chemical by not touching those soda cans and your risks will be lower.
Weight Loss
One of the easiest ways to lose weight is to cut soda from your diet. If you’re a rabid drinker (drinking it several times a day without fail, day and night), cutting down to one can a day could be a good start, at least until you’re eventually comfortable with cutting it out to once a week or leaving it behind completely.
According to Malia Frey, a weight loss expert writing on About Health, dropping a daily large Coca-Cola from McDonald’s completely (if you drink about one per day) would result in reducing your annual calorie intake by over 200,000 calories — or about 60 pounds — in one year. Replace that soda with water and overcome obesity.
Fight Type 2 Diabetes, Other Chronic Disorders
As the obesity epidemic continues to surge in the U.S., Americans will continue to stubbornly order McDonald’s and their giant Coca-Colas, then proceed to sit on their couch for hours and watch TV — or sit in their office for hours. All of these factors lead to obesity, an increased risk of Type 2 diabetes, and a higher chance of developing other chronic disorders like cancer or heart disease. Long-term consumption of large, sugary, fatty sodas will ultimately contribute to, and directly cause, Type 2 diabetes. Lose the soda and lose the pounds.
Live Longer
Here’s one easy way to live longer: Drop the soda. A recent study published in the American Journal of Public Health found that people who drank a lot of soda had shorter telomeres in immune cells, meaning their risk of dying sooner was higher. Telomeres are protective DNA units that are situated at the ends of chromosomes, and the shorter they get, the more a person ages and is at risk for disease and death. So cutting out that good-for-nothing sugary drink from your life will seemingly only offer you good things, by lengthening your telomeres as well as your life span, and improve your overall health.

EducationHow To 'deep Clean' Your Online Activity - Removing Posts That Can Haunt You by sunky97(op): 6:53am On Oct 26, 2017
But first a warning! Trying to hide your online history could draw more attention to it, than just leaving it alone - and an attempted cover-up could be a bigger scandal than the original posts.

Search for yourself

A good place to start is typing your name into a search engine and seeing what comes back.

You may need to do a deep dive, several pages into the results to find old material you had forgotten was online.

The easiest way to remove embarrassing posts from the past is to log in to the website you posted them on, and delete them at the source if possible.

Revisit old haunts

Check old message boards you used to frequent to make sure you did not leave any regrettable posts online.

Your username may not have been your real name, but people may still associate it with you.

Message boards often let you search for all the posts made by your account, allowing you to remove or edit anything you no longer want online.

You could also run a web search on your old message board usernames to check you have not missed anything.

Delete old social accounts

Remember Myspace? Former Faceparty fan? Gone from Gaydar?

The three networks - and several others - suffered a great exodus when newer social websites arrived. But did you deactivate your old account, or leave it to fester unattended?

Old social network profiles can be a treasure trove of embarrassing photos and regrettable stories. It might be time to log in and erase any profiles you no longer use.

Change your name

Many comments sections on news websites are powered by bigger social networks such as Facebook and Disqus.

If you had used your real name on these sites, you could change your name and photo on the associated accounts so that old embarrassing posts are instead attributed to a pseudonym.

However, this does breach the terms and conditions of some social networks.

Exercise your "right to be forgotten"

EU citizens can ask search engines to remove results connected to their name, if they are judged to be irrelevant or outdated.

This means news stories, old social media posts and blogs can be hidden from search results, making them less likely to resurface.

Controversially, the right to be forgotten has been used by criminals and people involved in public scandals to hide news reports featuring their name, on the grounds that they are "outdated". Critics say peops in this way.

But the EU ruling stands, and so Google, Bing and other search engines let citizens request the removal of certain results.

As the ruling only applies to the EU, the "hidden" results may still appear for people using the search engine outside the EU.

Demand deletion

Some social networks make it difficult for you to permanently delete your account, encouraging you to temporarily deactivate it instead.

Facebook does provide a page where you can request a permanent account deletion, while Twitter's standard deactivation procedure deletes an account after 30 days.

Deleting an account on Facebook and Twitter makes public posts disappear - but copies may still appear in search engine results.

Protect your accounts

Often the material shared in private messages is more sensitive than what we post publicly. It is always a good idea to protect online accounts with a strong, unique password.

http://tellmystory.com.ng/how-to-deep-clean-your-online-activity-removing-posts-that-can-haunt-your-future/

If a website offers it, enable two-factor or two-step verification, which makes it harder for anybody to get into your account without permission, because they need both your password and your mobile phone.

One final word of advice...

Nothing you share on the internet is truly private, and ohe internet is truly private, and once something is out there on the worldwide web, it can be very difficult to cover it up again.

Several sites scrape social networks such as Twitter and Facebook and archive the posts they find - while the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine does a similar thing for websites including message boards and blogs.

So to be safe, try not to post embarrassing content online in the first place.

Jobs/VacanciesWhat Is The Difference Between A Resume And A Cover Letter? by sunky97(op): 10:32pm On Oct 22, 2017
Both cover letter and resume share the common purpose of proving that you have the right skills to excel at the job for which you are applying.
However, there are clear distinctions between the structure and intent of the two documents. Job seekers should view their cover letter and resume as a complementary but unique pair of documents.
That is, your cover letter should be more than just bullet points regurgitated from the resume.
Many employers require that a resume be submitted with a job application.
A cover letter may not be required. But, including one when you apply for a job can help your chances of getting selected for an interview.
The Difference Between a Resume and a Cover Letter
You can think of your resume as a general summary of your work experience and your cover letter as a summary of your work experience as it relates to the job at hand.
A resume is a document that itemizes your employment history. It summarizes the jobs you have held, the education you have attained, certifications, skills, and other quantifiable information about your background and work experience.
The most common resume format is a list with your contact information, an experience section that includes job titles, position descriptions, dates of employment, an education section, and other relevant information.
Typically, a resume is written in the third person and uses as few words as possible to summarize experience. So, instead of writing “I supervised the large buying team at XYZ company” a resume would have a bullet point that says, “Supervised 19-person buying team.” Whenever possible, you’ll want to use numbers on your resume, such as number of people you supervised, percent sales increased, number of customers helped, etc.
A cover letter is written to highlight the qualifications you have for the job for which you are applying. It is used to provide the employer with additional information as to why you are a good candidate for the job. The main function of your cover letter is to show off how your qualification make you a match for the job.
A cover letter is written in a letter format including a salutation, several paragraphs, and a closing. Unlike a resume, you should use use the first-person to write your cover letter. (That said, avoid using “I” too much.)

What a Resume Includes
Your resume should provide employers with a detailed list of your work experience and education. The skills and accomplishments associated with each job you have held should be described with enough detail to show employers how you have added value in those specific roles.
Often, resumes provide information in bulleted lists; this helps make the document concise and allows recruiters to scan through it quickly.

What a Cover Letter Includes
A cover letter is a short three or four paragraph document.
It should be written with the assumption that employers will consult your resume to match it to the statement you are making in the letter about your qualifications.
A cover letter will help employers to interpret your background as represented on the resume and will help prove how your previous experiences qualify you for a job.

EducationMeet Musawenkosi Saurombe, Africa’s Youngest Female PHD Holder by sunky97(op): 2:08pm On Oct 16, 2017
23 years old Musawenkosi Saurombe, is Africa’s youngest female PHD degree holder. She was born in Zimbabwe but grew up in neighboring Botswana. She gained admission into the university at age 16 after skipping a grade in elementary school to pursue a Bachelor’s degree at North-West University. At 19, Saurombe completed her first degree, advancing immediately to her post-graduate studies and receiving a Master’s degree with distinction at the age of 21. She graduated with a Ph.D. in Industrial Psychology from South Africa’s North-West University (NWU). Her PhD thesis looked into the talent value propositions for academic staff members in higher education. And it was recently admitted by NWU, making her the youngest person to graduate with a PhD.

Saurombe presently works as a postdoctoral fellow at the university’s campus in Mahikeng, where she is responsible for the teaching and supervision of postgraduate students. Notwithstanding her busy schedule as a teacher and researcher, Saurombe finds time for community service, mentoring young people, especially girls, to set their sights on the future and believe that they can be absolutely anything they want to be.

She said,
”If I had listened to what people will say about my age, gender, or race, I would not have taken some of the steps that I took. My father had to sell his car just to get me through my third year of study and also the general social challenges, usually being the youngest in my class. I never thought I will be the youngest woman to have a Ph.D. in Africa. I never thought that at the age of 23, I will have a Ph.D. in Industrial Psychology. As young people, it is very important to accrue the right character traits. Don’t let anyone tell you that you are substandard, under par, or unworthy of having a dream, so be daring, be bold, and be aggressive in your pursuit of success. I am defined by my African name ‘Musawenkosi’, which means ‘God’s grace’, and indeed my life continues to be a story of God’s grace.”

Career11 Ways To Make This Week The Most Productive by sunky97(op): 6:40am On Oct 16, 2017
The phrase “time is money” is more true now than ever before. It doesn’t take a rocket surgeon (a combination rocket scientist and brain surgeon) to realize that our productivity is directly linked to our revenue and profits.

With that in mind, here are 10 ways to make your weeks much more productive.
1. Schedule down time.
Work hard and play hard, but don’t mix the two. Be fully engaged wherever you are. When you’re working, go all out, then schedule some time each day and on the weekends to stay far, far away from work. You deserve a break and your brain does too.

2. Take “Do Not Disturb” time.
We distract ourselves enough as it is. Let others know you’re serious about getting things done -- block it out on your calendar or even put a sign on your door. Ninety nine percent of things can wait until you’re done with your focused work.

3. Work in intervals.
No one can go full throttle all day. A good rule is to work 25 minutes, then give yourself a break for five minutes. In the long run, you’ll accomplish more.

4. Be ruthless.
Are you being as efficient as possible? As you face any given task, as yourself, “Could this be done faster?” Constantly improve in your approach and technique for higher productivity.

5. Only do what only you can do.
If there’s someone who can do what you’re doing better or cheaper, have them do it. Your time is better spent doing things only you can do. Andy Stanley elaborates on this in Next Generation Leader.

6. Review your performance.
Take time at the end of each week to critique your results. Find ways to make improvements each week.

7. Receive instead of give.
During important work blocks, make others contact and approach you. Screen calls and emails so that you only respond to the most important ones.

8. Perform triage.
Start to think like an emergency room doctor. What’s the absolute best use of your time right now? Figure it out and focus in on it. All the other clutter on your desk can wait.

9. Automate repetitive tasks.
Set up automatic payments for bills, auto-ship routine purchases and cut yourself out as the middleman on receiving invoices. The less you have to do, the better.

10. Create a list of “Once a Days.”
Many things only need to be done once per day, twice at most. Checking voicemail and Facebook are some examples. Create a list of your personal “once a days” and make sure these tasks aren’t creeping into your workload unnecessarily.

11. Don’t beat yourself up.
It takes time and practice to master anything, and productivity is no different. Constant improvement is the realistic goal -- not perfection in one week.

What practice will you implement this week to achieve more productivity? Share your commitment by leaving a comment below.

Christianity EtcHow To Train Your Dragons – Killing Pet Sins Before They Kill You by sunky97(op): 6:57am On Oct 15, 2017
“Excuse me, can you repeat what you just said?”
I was certain I heard him wrong.
“ . . . ”
“So you’re saying that if we are struggling consistently with sexual sin, we should wean ourselves off of it by sinning in moderation? If we do said sin six times a week, you’re telling us to limit it to five per week for a time, then to four, three, two, until zero?”
The leader of a highly recommended program for male Christian purity reiterated the sentiment as everyone around me nodded at the sage’s words. After all, we just heard Jimmy’s video testimony about how he went from sinning several times a day to only sinning, well, several times a month. The strategy must work.
The friend who brought me braced himself.
“With all due respect, you can’t be serious. Do you know what sin is?”
As he continued to talk, it was evident that he did not.
To him, making provision for the flesh several times a week was, in the end, beneficial to our holiness. To him, a couple of slices of forbidden fruit wasn’t really that bad. To him, sin was manageable, tamable, controllable. To him, cutting off one’s members seemed like an overreaction — just gently wean yourself off of the sin.
To him, sin was not:
The glory of God not honored.
The holiness of God not reverenced.
The greatness of God not admired.
The power of God not praised.
The truth of God not sought.
The wisdom of God not esteemed.
The beauty of God not treasured.
The goodness of God not savored.
The faithfulness of God not trusted.
The promises of God not believed.
The commandments of God not obeyed.
The justice of God not respected.
The wrath of God not feared.
The grace of God not cherished.
The presence of God not prized.
The person of God not loved.
Nor was it,
The dare of God’s justice, the rape of his mercy, the jeer of his patience, the slight of his power, and the contempt of his love. (John Bunyan)
To him, sin was like breaking the speed limit — nothing personal.
It was not an injury to our greatest Lover, a betrayal of our truest Friend, a dishonoring of our heavenly Father, an act of war against our mighty King, the creature spitting towards his Almighty Creator.
One of these was enough to curse the entire world. But allowing for several per week was apparently fine. Sin was a pet that we should eventually get rid of, but in the meantime, you could scratch its belly and teach it n is not a pet to be walked several times a week. It is a lion, a wolf, a bear. It bites and hunts at will. It attacks as a piranha. It is a restless evil lit ablaze by the fires of hell. Sin cannot be trained, bridled, or domesticated. Cannot be rescued, rehabilitated, or redeemed. Sin will never wear a collar, stick to its kennel, or cease clawing at your throat.
Sin marks us as targets for the great artillery of God’s wrath (Colossians 3:5–6). Sin makes us worthy of death (Romans 1:32). Sin will be found out and hated (Psalm 36:1–2). We never make peace with it, never make provision for it, never mark it in our calendars. Sin must be destroyed by the Spirit if we want to live (Romans 8:13).
Safer to have a pet male tiger than a pet sin.
The Lizard Upon the Shoulder
But many have tried. C.S. Lewis depicts this philosophy pictured above in The Great Divorce. In the book, a Ghost who has been kept out of heaven tries to keep his pet sin, a red lizard. In the scene, the Ghost constantly scolds the pet upon his shoulder. An angel asks the Ghost if he would like the lizard silenced.
“Of course I would,” said the Ghost.
“Then I will kill him,” said the Angel, taking a step forward.
“Oh — ah — look out! You’re burning me. Keep away,” said the Ghost retreating.
“Don’t you want him killed?”
“You didn’t say am killed?”
“You didn’t say anything about killing him at first. I hardly meant to bother you with anything so drastic as that.”
“It’s the only way,” said the Angel, whose burning hands were now very close to the Lizard. “Shall I kill it?”
“ . . . ”
“Well, there’s time to discuss that later.”
“There is no time. May I kill it.”
“Please, I never meant to be such a nuisance. Please — really — don’t bother. Look! It’s gone to sleep of its own accord. I’m sure it’ll be all right now. Thanks ever so much.”
“May I kill it?”
“Honestly, I don’t think there’s the slightest necessity for that. I’m sure I shall be able to keep it in order now. I think the gradual process would be far better than killing it.”
“The gradual process is of no use at all.”
More excuses are given, but now we overhear the lizard whispering in his ear,
“Be careful,” it said. “He can do what he says. He can kill me. One fatal word from you and he will! Then you’ll be without me for ever and ever. It’s not natural. How could you live? You’d be only a sort of ghost, not a real man as you are now. He doesn’t understand. He’s only a cold, bloodless abstract thing. It may be natural for him, but it isn’t for us. Yes, yes. I know there are no real pleasures now, only dreams. But aren’t they better than nothing? And I’ll be so good. I admit I’ve sometimes gone too far in the past, but I promise I won’t do it again. I’ll give you nothing but really nice dreams — all sweet and fresh and almost innocent. You might say, quite innocent . . . ”
It is easy to fall into patterns of training our sin rather than killing it.
If your biggest reason to fight sin is that you don’t want to confess it again to an accountability group, you’re training your sin. If you only pray about the sin after you’ve “done it again,” you’re training your sin. If you do not seek Christ’s presence, if you do not commune with him in prayer and his word, if you do not invite believers into your life to stick daggers into your sin, you are training your sin to play dead without killing it.
Go and Sin No More
If you have a pet sin, you must renounce it at once. Your salvation depends on it.
Only those who have a string of sin’s carcasses behind them will enter into heaven. Only those who “work out [their] own salvation with fear and trembling” knowing that God is working in them “to will and to work for his good pleasure” will be saved (Philippians 2:12–13).
But what about being saved by faith alone? You’re not. You’re justified through faith alone. Final salvation comes through justification and sanctification — both initiated and sustained by God’s grace.
There is a holiness that, if you do not have it, will keep you from seeing the Lord (Hebrews 12:14). “But we ought always to give thanks to God for you, brothers beloved by the Lord, because God chose you as the firstfruits to be saved, through sanctification by the Spirit and belief in the truth” (2 Thessalonians 2:13).
Do not be deceived. If you sow to the flesh, you will reap ruin (Galatians 6:cool. The wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23). Many will say on that day that they knew him, but he will cast them out into darkness because they were “workers of lawlessness” (Matthew 7:21–23). Warnings are active for the Christian, and the Spirit uses them to keep us fearing God and turning from sin.
The Christian doesn’t train his dragons. We do not plan on sinning five times per week, then four, then three, until infrequent times of rebellion. After he pardons the sinner, Jesus does not say go and sin less; he says, go and sin no more. Be killing your pets, or your pets will end up killing you.
Greg Morse is a content strategist for desiringGod.org and graduate of Bethlehem College & Seminary. He and his wife Abigail live in St. Paul.

Career7 Ways To Get Along Better With Your Coworkers by sunky97(op): 6:58am On Oct 09, 2017
There is an excellent chance you spend more time with your coworkers than with anyone else. That includes your spouse, kids, parents or friends. If you have a good relationship with them, that may not be a bad thing, but if you don’t, your time at work can be miserable. If you don’t know how to get along with your coworkers, it’s time you found out.
Good workplace relationships can help you do your job better. They can make going to work every day enjoyable or, at least, tolerable. Bad ones can distract you from your duties and can turn a so-so job into a nightmare. Follow these tips to learn how to get along better with your coworkers.
1. Respect Your Colleagues
For any relationship to succeed, the individuals who are part of it must have—and show—respect for each other. One way to demonstrate respect is by avoiding doing things others might find offensive. For example, don’t leave a mess behind, don’t come to work sick and don’t steal credit for someone else’s work.
2. Steer Clear of Cringe-Worthy Topics
You might feel so comfortable with your colleagues that you think it’s ok to talk about anything at work. What you must keep in mind is that your coworkers are a captive audience. They can’t leave if they don’t like the topic of conversation, and they may feel awkward asking you to change it. Some controversial subject matters, politics and religion for example, could even cause arguments that might lead to discord in the workplace. Wait until you’re with your friends and family to discuss them.
3. Get Your Workplace Relationships Off to a Good Start
There are a lot of things to stress over when you start a new job, but you may be most worried about forming relationships with your new coworkers. If you didn’t get along with your colleagues at your last job, you might fret that things will be the same at this one. If you had great relationships, you could be concerned things will never be the same.
It may not happen overnight, but you will eventually bond with everyone (or at least almost everyone) at your new job. You can get off to a good start by being friendly to your new coworkers. A warm smile goes a long way. Asking questions and accepting lunch invitations do too.
4. Find A Way to Get Along With Even the Most Difficult People
You know the old saying “You can choose your friends, but you can’t choose your family”? You could say the same about your colleagues. You are unlikely to have any control over who your coworkers are and what they are like. A few—hopefully not too many—may have some annoying qualities. Whether you work with a chatterbox, a gossip, a delegator, a complainer or a credit grabber, your life will be much easier if you find a way to get along with him.
5. Don’t Spread Malicious Gossip
Based on rumor or fact, gossip can get you into trouble. Resist the urge to share juicy bits of news about anyone with whom you work. When you do, it sends a message to your cthy, and they will wonder if they will be your next subject.
While you should refrain from gossiping, you should know how to make the grapevine work for you. Listen to all the news that comes your way, filter out what is blatantly false and ignore anything that isn’t helpful.
6. Practice Good Office Etiquette
Good manners are as important on the job as they are anywhere else. This is an important point to remember whenever you are around your coworkers. Make sure to make phone calls in a way that doesn’t distract anyone who is trying to work. Keep your voice down and, if possible, have private conversations away from others.
Take care when writing or replying to email. Always say “please” when making a request and don’t drive your coworkers crazy by hitting “reply all” in a group email when only the sender needs to see your response.
Be mindful of proper table manners when eating lunch with your coworkers. For example, avoid tending to matters of personal hygiene at the table, put your cell phone away and be polite to waitstaff.
7. Be Kind to Your Coworkers
Everyone has bad days. Show your coworker some kindness when he seems to be struggling. You don’t have to do something extravagant. How about offering to stay late to help him work on a big project with a looming deadline or bringing her coffee and a cookie on a dreary Monday morning? It won’t make your colleague’s probln’t make your colleague’s problems disappear, but it could help him feel better.

Christianity Etc6 Things Every Christian Should Know About The Rapture by sunky97(op): 2:35pm On Oct 08, 2017
The happenings arround the world show that the second coming of our LORD JESUS CHRIST is very near.
Are you ready for Christ second coming?
While the word rapture does not appear in the Bible, the event is described in 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 and 1 Corinthians 15:50-44. At the time of the Rapture, believers who have died will have their bodies resurrected and, along with believers who are still living, will meet the Lord in the air. This will all occur in a moment, in a twinkling of an eye. In short, the Rapture is the return of Christ in the clouds to remove all believers from the earth before the time of God’s wrath. The Rapture is typically associated with events of the Second Coming of Christ, when Jesus returns to defeat the Antichrist, destroy evil, and establish His millennial kingdom. While the Rapture and the Second Coming of Christ are similar, they are separate events. Both involve Jesus returning. Both are end-time events. However, it is important as believers that we recognize the differences.

Here are six things every Christian should know about:

There are Two Phases
The meaning or definition of Rapture is the idea that the coming of Jesus will take place in two separate stages. The first will be a secret Rapture – or carrying away of the saved to heaven – at the beginning of a seven-year period of tribulation, during which the antichrist will appear. The second phase occurs at the close of the time of tribulation when Jesus will return to Earth in triumph and glory. At the Rapture, the Lord will descent bodily in the air for his saints, both for the dead and for the living (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17) which will be seven years prior to the Revelation of the second stage of His coming. In the first stage of the Rapture, the Lord comes for His church; whereas, at the end of the tribulation period, He comes back with His church. At this event “every eye shall see Him” although at the Rapture he will come “as a thief” and only believers will see Him.

There Will Be Signs of Deception
There will be many people who will claim to be the Messiah and also claim to have the answers for a troubled world. In Matthew 24, Jesus gave a warning specifically for our generation. In this passage Jesus, speaking to us, warns us that false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even elect. These false prophets are not working with sleight of hand illusions. We must be on guard and ask ourselves who these sinister false prophets and messiahs are. The Bible warns us that these are no ordinary men. In the End Times, people will be crying desperately for leaders to deliver them, and they will seek mystics and religious leaders who claim to have deeper knowledge. These are already happening, people calling themselves messiah. Please watch, It’s signs of end time.

The/b]
This is something we see happening right now. The book of Revelation tells us that the Tribulation Period is filled with war that will escalate until the world is involved. This war will be terrible, ceaseless and unending. The Bible says that as we move toward End Times, there will be many talks of conflicts, border skirmishes, race wars and national battles. World military spending has now reached one trillion dollars. The arms trade is big business. This is happening daily all over the world. Jesus will soon come! Are you ready?

[b]There Will Be Signs of Devastation

As we get closer and closer to the End Times, there will be devastation, including hunger and famine. If you look around the world right now, there are millions of people you will seeing who are going hungry, despite God blessing us with a fertile, abundant planet. There will also be earthquakes which science has projected will happen and the spread of new diseases. We have noticed an epidemic of new diseases breaking out that we have not been able to control the spread of. Many wonder what all the world’s current devastation is telling us?

We Can’t Calculate the Date
We should avoid determining a date and time for the Rapture. Despite many attempts throughout the years to calculate the date, the truth is we cannot calculate the day Christ will return because God specifically chose not to reveal this to us.lly chose not to reveal this to us. When Jesus was asked about the apocalyptic time by the apostles, He replied. “It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put in His own authority. But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you” (Acts 1:7-cool. Only God knows the date, the time and the hour, and only God knows when time will run out.

Christians Will Come Before the Judgment Seat of Christ
During the rapture, Christians will come before the Judgment Seat of Christ. The purpose of this seat is to examine a Christian’s life. The Bible tells us, “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may be recompensed for his deeds in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad” (2 Corinthians 5:10). The term used here refers to a summing up and estimation of the total pattern of a believer’s life. The overall focus of this should keep us from worrying over every small things we’ve ever done, or thoughtless sin we have committed. It’s a time of reward, not punishment. Though we won’t be condemned for our sins, our present lives do affect what will happen at the Judgment Seat of Christ.

It’s important that we pay attention to the Bible’s proppay attention to the Bible’s proppay attention to the Bible’s prophetic pantion to the Bible’s prophetic passages and study God’s plan for the fut and study God’s plan for the future. Though we won’t know the date, time or hour of the Rapture and Jesus’ Second Coming, we can be cognizant of all that is going on around us so that we are living the life God intended for us in Christ. When we study and understand the Rapture, we will be better prepared for what is to come. The coming of Jesus Christ is very near.
Are you ready for Christ second coming?

Education8 Easy Ways To Save More Money From Your Salary by sunky97(op): 9:12pm On Oct 01, 2017
It is an age long established fact that nobody can escape poverty without a savings habit. Anybody that spends everything on consumption is just a step away from poverty and its various consequences. But that feeling is crushed once you add up your rent expense, credit card payment, electricity bill, and so on. Living paycheck to paycheck can be daunting.

It can feel entrapping, stopping you for exploring other career options or life choices. For me, I call this “being stuck in the wheel.” Having a high savings account is a the biggest safety cushion, and I highly recommend saving for rainy days. Read on to get out of the wheel, and take control of your finances in these easy ways!

Read on to get out of the wheel, and take control of your finances in these easy ways!

1. Plan, Plan, and Plan

As much as you can, plan your finances. Build a budget, and stick to it. Forecasting your needs and planning around big purchases is key to financial success. List exactly how much you need to spend on what, and save the rest! It will give you the power to take the control of your finances and will benefit you immensely.

2.  Create side business

Basically, find a side hustle. Find your passion and go beyond your job to cash in after hours. There are multiple avenues and ways to turn your free time into cash time. Think Uber, blogging, affiliate marketing, product sales – and the list never ends. In this sharing economy, get in and cash out!

3. Join Co-operative society

The first thing cooperative societies do to individual members is development of  savings culture. It is an age long established fact that nobody can escape poverty without a savings habit. Anybody that spends everything on consumption is just a step away from poverty and its various consequences.

As a member of a cooperative, you must contribute regularly, most times monthly. The contribution is usually deducted from your income, before you even receive it. So, irrespective of your needs, you save compulsory. Also, because the money is not within easy reach, you cannot easily access it to spend.

4. Automatic Savings

If you use online bank, have a company savings account, or any other variation of tracking your finances online – use it. Set aside 10% of your income and have it track into your savings. Grow or downgrade from there, but start with an automatic savings of 10% and work your way from there.
habits? Be honest with yourself, and critically assess where you are habitually spending money. This includes carefully analyzing your utility bills and logging your cash spending to see if you have a pattern or habit you need to cut.

6. Look at Your Living Situation

Are you living beyond your means? Take a good look of what you are spending the majority of your money, and see if you can scale back. See if you really need that car lease, the apartment, or WiFi. Truly assess your needs and see where you can reduce to save for the future.

7. Create a Budget and Monitor it

If you are planning to save a percentage of your earnings, then you should have a budget, and bear in mind that your budget should include everything you spend money on monthly; even money spent on airtime for your mobile device and money you set aside for charity.

Write out how much your disposable income is on a monthly basis and how much you intend to save. Also, write out every single item or service that you pay for; right from the salon to the restaurant and others. In other words, ensure everything is covered; every single thing.

Regardless of what comes up, a portion of your salary needs to be saved..

8.Avoid making impulsive purchase decisions.

Always "sleep on" ldecisions.

Always "sleep on" larger purchases that don't need an immediate decision. If you aren't mindful of your spending, a trip to the store or a few clicks on the web can blow your entire budget.

What constitutes a larger purchase will vary depending on your income level. The two biggest purchases for many people would be a car or a house. Both of these should take a lot of research and time before committing to. However, while most workers would consider things like furniture, appliances, and electronics to be big purchases, very high earners may not. Conversely, while some may consider a superfluous pair of shoes or a new book to be a major purchase, others may view them as trivial.

CareerTen Ways Your Resume Can Scare Employers Away by sunky97(op): 10:58am On Sep 27, 2017
It would be awful if your job search were being hindered by something in your resume — something that might scare employers away.

It is hard to read your own resume with a critical eye. You know yourself too well. It’s hard to get perspective on your own background.

Pick an honest and forthright friend to review your resume for you, and ask them to tell you what they think of it.

Your resume might be scaring employers away. If you are applying for lots of job openings but you aren’t hearing anything back, this could be your problem. How would you know?

They never tell you “Here’s the problem we ran into when we reviewed your resume.” They just go silent, and you keep using the same resume over and over.

Here are ten ways your resume may be scaring employers away:

1. Lots of short-term jobs in a row (with no explanation)

2. Non-traditional, zigzag career path, unexplained

3. Precipitous drops in altitude (e.g., a switch from an executive-level job to a nearly entry-level job)

4. Your formal education doesn’t match your career history

5. Long-term or multiple employment gaps (periods of unemployment)

6. No obvious intersection between your resume and the job spec

7. Lots of typos and misspellings in your resume

8. Industry jargon from a different industry

9. You’re a non-local job candidate (and you don’t explain why)

10. You’ve been a manager in the same function as the non-management job you’re applying for now (screeners will wonder “Why does this applicant want to take a step down?”)

People who review and forward resumes are not typically especially senior. They may feel that they can’t put forward a candidate who has even one resume “blemish.”

They may feel that they could get in trouble, lose brownie points or even lose their jobs if they recommend an unsuitable candidate for hire.

That’s one reason resume screeners are often so timid. They seem to care much more about a job candidate’s match to the job spec (that is, a clerical match) than to the candidate’s actual story, their history or their accomplishments.

You can’t run the risk of letting one or more resume problems knock you out of the running!

The key is to explain your background in your resume, whether you’ve had one or more employment gaps, a drop in altitude or some other career shift that might confuse the reader.

CareerSix Emotions That Signal You Are In The Wrong Job by sunky97(op): 6:21am On Sep 25, 2017
Almost a third of your time on earth will be spent working. That’s a big chunk of your life, so spending it in the wrong job can have a negative effect far beyond the office. If you aren’t on a career path that helps you reach your potential and contribute your true value to the world, it starts to chip away at your state of mind, even if you’re not ready to admit it. When you’re in the wrong job, you’ll likely experience one or more of the following emotions:
1. Apathy. You don’t really feel any emotion, good or bad, when it comes to work. Your duties are there. You check off the tasks. But they just don’t create any meaningful feelings. You rarely talk about work outside the office; in fact, you abhor it when people ask you what you do for a living. Work feels like an inevitable part of life, not a source of excitement. Not even your accomplishments and big wins bring you much joy. At the same time, the challenges that cause your colleagues to run around with their hair on fire don’t create stress for you.
2. Dread. You dread Monday mornings. You may even feel dread the night before every workday. But not all dread means you are in the wrong job. You could be in the wrong company, the wrong location, or the wrong department. A number of factors can inspire dread. To find out if it’s your role, ask yourself these questions: Do I like the people I work with? Do I feel good about the company I work for and its mission? Do I like where I work and feel OK about my commute? If you answered yes to those questions, then take a deeper look at your job to understand why it isn’t right for you.

3. Envy. You know you are in the wrong role because you wish you had someone else’s. You look at her in meetings wishing you had that job. I had a personal branding client who was a senior finance exec at a high-tech company. She was really successful and well-liked by everyone, but she just wasn’t fulfilled. The results of the 360 survey that she used to understand external perceptions had one comment that brought it all together for her. The respondent said, “You’re great at what you do, and I respect you. I just can’t understand why you’re in finance. You seem like a marketer to me.” That one comment opened a new world for her. She had intended to pursue marketing, but she landed an amazing first job inpidly in finance until she was so far away from marketing she couldn’t remember that it had been her goal.

Christianity Etc2 Lesbian Pastors Tie The Knot In The US by sunky97(op): 10:42pm On Sep 20, 2017
Two female Pastors who are lesbians have caused serious commotion after they got married in the United State of America.

The Christian community in the United States of America has been thrown into shock as two female Pastors who are pastors got wedded at a church in East Orange, New Jersey.

The newly wed couple, Pastors Twanna Gause and Vanessa Brown, tied the knot on August 24, 2017, at the New Vision Full Gospel Baptist Church, with their action causing a lot of rumpus among their congregations and other Christians in their community.

Most pained about the decision of the women of God was Gause's father, The Rev. Sam Gause Sr., who is affiliated with the Center of Hope Church of God in Christ in Riverdale, Georgia, declaring firmly that his daughter was tricked by the devil.

Health8 Things Your Eyes Are Trying To Tell You About Your Health by sunky97(op): 6:19pm On Sep 20, 2017
An old saying claims that the eyes are the windows of the soul. No one knows where this phrase came from, but nevertheless today we know for sure that eyes can tell a lot about us and show our health condition.

1. Permanent sty

If you’ve ever had a sty, you know the pain and irritation it causes. A lump on the eyelid appears due to a blocked sebaceous gland and usually goes away within a few days, but it may persist, causing serious inconveniences.
If a sty pops up often or persists for a long time, it can be a symptom of sebaceous gland carcinoma. If you notice that it doesn’t heal or appears in the same place, it’s time to visit a doctor.

2. Eyebrow loss

There are lots of reasons for eyebrow loss: aging, stress, or nutrient deficiency. Alopecia areata, or spot baldness, can be another reason, though it affects no more than 0.1% of the population.
A more plausible reason for eyebrow loss is hypothyroidism — an acute shortage of thyroid hormones that in extreme cases can lead to hair loss. So if your hair is thinning, it’s better to visit your doctor and check the state of your thyroid gland.

3. Blurred vision

Many of us spend hours on computers at home or at work, which causes burning eyes or blurred vision. Nowadays this situation occurs so often that there’s a special term in medical practice that describes vision problems connected with prolonged computer, cell phone, or e-book use: “digital eye strain“ or ”dry eye syndrome.” If you recognize these symptoms, discuss with your doctor the ways to solve this problem.

4. Blind spots

It’s always frightening to notice a blind spot in your vision. This may pretty often point at migraine with aura, especially if the picture you get is accompanied by sparkling dots or wavy lines. Typically, blind spots go together with headaches.
If such symptoms sound even too familiar for you, call your doctor to learn what triggers the problem.

5. Bulging eyes

We have all had times when our eyes seemed to betray us. We rub them or blink several times, and our vision seems to become clear again. But if you constantly feel some sort of expansion in your eyes, it can be a symptom of thyroid (or Graves) eye disease. It means your thyroid is overactive.
Difficulties closing the eyes is one of the symptoms which can make the eyes appear to bulge. It occurs in 30% of cases, so if you see something like that, call your doctor immediately.

6. Yellow whites

Every day we spend time looking in the mirror, so it’s unlikely we can miss this problem. Both adults and newborns with undeveloped liver function may face jaundice. It may also be connected with the state of a gallbladder or bile ducts. So if you see your whites becoming yellow, don’t ignore it — rush to find the reason.

7. Cloudy vision with diabetes

People with diabetes have to pay special attention to their health, and vision is one of the things they keep tabs on. One such problem is diabetic retinopathy — a state caused by damage to blood vessels in the photosensitive retina tissue. It may be the reason of “cloudy” vision. This problem should be taken seriously: one should contact a specialist at the onset of symptoms.

8. Impaired or cloudy vision
http://tellmystory.com.ng/8-things-your-eyes-are-trying-to-tell-you-about-your-health/
Any vision change is an alarm bell that requires an instant response. And if you notice your vision suddenly impaired, clouded, or even disappearing for a moment, seek medical help immediately because these symptoms are often the first signs of a stroke.
