In other words, for every Pastor Andimi killed, 9 Imams had been killed. For every church bombed, 9 mosques had been bombed. For every Leah Sharibu kidnapped, 9 Amines had been kidnapped. ..and the list goes on.

Very unfortunate and warped statistics by Mr President!

Sports / Ronaldo Hasn't Dribbled Past Anyone For Three Years by Sunnick(m): 11:58am On Nov 11, 2019
The Portuguese attacker is struggling for fitness and the Italian manager believes he's lost a lot of his physical abilities

After seeing Cristiano Ronaldo substituted for a second straight game , Fabio Capello has claimed the Juventus star "hasn't dribbled past anyone for three years".

The 34-year-old was replaced by Paulo Dybala in the 55th minute against AC Milan on Sunday having failed to have much of an impact on a game the Argentine substitute would win for Juve in the 77th minute .

Following his substitution, Ronaldo went straight up the tunnel and reportedly left the stadium before full-time.

Capello, a former player and manager of Juventus, wasn't impressed with the Portugal attacker's reaction to being replaced and questioned his general ability with the ball at his feet.

"I didn't like this, it wasn't nice," Capello told Sky Sport Italia . "He must be a champion even when he comes off the pitch.

"The truth is that Cristiano Ronaldo hasn't dribbled [past] an opponent for three years. I did the La Liga commentary when he usually took the double step and left you there.

"Inside him is a super-champion, the best of all, but now there is Dybala and Douglas Costa, who made two sensational goals. Dybala in excellent condition can make the difference, as can Douglas Costa.

"They win games without Ronaldo. Juve seemed dependent on him, instead the great squad and the quality of the players helps them win anyway.

"Bravo Sarri, who had the courage to take him off, it takes personality, especially thinking that all the players in the squad can play and make a difference.

"Cristiano did it for a while, but now it's not him and he must recover - especially on a physical level. He does not have the speed and dynamism he has shown at other times."

Speaking after the game, Juventus coach Maurizio Sarri praised Ronaldo for playing through injury and wasn't concerned about how he reacted to being replaced .

“We must thank Ronaldo, because he made a sacrifice to be there at all tonight in a difficult situation," Sarri said.

"He did everything possible to play, but I saw he was not well and thought it best to take him off. It’s only natural a player is going to be irritated to leave the pitch, especially when he worked so hard to be there."

Foreign Affairs / Lebanon Protests: Huge Crowds On Streets As Government Acts by Sunnick(m): 8:19am On Oct 22, 2019
Lebanon's government has approved a package of economic reforms as it attempts to quell the biggest protests to sweep the country in over a decade.

Measures include steps to cut Lebanon's huge deficit, slashing politicians' salaries by half and giving financial help to families in poverty.

In a televised address, PM Saad Hariri said the protesters had been heard. It comes as demonstrators took part in a fifth day of protests and widespread strikes.

Hundreds of thousands of Lebanese have taken to the streets, angry at corruption and austerity measures.

The Lebanese economy is struggling with low growth and high debt, and a deteriorating infrastructure has made power cuts and piles of uncollected rubbish part of daily life.

What's the latest?

The Lebanese cabinet passed the raft of measures at an emergency meeting on Monday. Mr Hariri had hinted at resigning if the package was not approved.

The prime minister appeared on television immediately afterwards, acknowledging protesters' grievances.
"These decisions are not designed as a trade-off," he said, "They are not to ask you to stop expressing your anger. That is your decision to make."

"Your movement is what led to these decisions that you see today," he added.

Meanwhile, protesters blocked main roads in central Beirut and held fresh demonstrations. Many schools, banks and universities were closed.

" Lebanon is getting ruined more and more, day after day because of all the politicians," Sara, a 17-year-old protester, told the BBC.

'We are protesting for our rights. And we are going to win.'

"That's why the Lebanese are standing hand in hand against the corruption and against the bad economical state. This revolution is the key to a better Lebanon."
Why are people protesting?

The demonstrations began on Thursday, when a proposed $6 (£4.60) monthly tax on WhatsApp voice calls was announced.

The tax was scrapped, but the unrest escalated and demonstrators turned their focus to wider grievances with the government, including widespread corruption, economic mismanagement and poor public services.

Lebanon battles worst wildfires in decades

On Sunday, hundreds of thousands people gathered in in the capital and other cities for the biggest demonstrations seen in Lebanon since 2005.

Lebanon's economic situation has worsened in recent weeks, with the local currency losing value against the US dollar for the first time in two decades.

The Lebanese pound has been pegged at 1,500 to the dollar since 1997, but a shortage of dollars at local banks has led to the black market exchange rate rising to about 1,650.

Lebanon has one of the world's highest levels of public debt. At $86bn, it is equivalent to more than 150% of gross domestic product (GDP).

The country's economy has also stagnated. Real GDP growth was only 0.2% in 2018 and is estimated to be -0.2% in 2019, according to the World Bank.

Last year, international donors pledged $11bn of aid and loans to boost Lebanon's economy. In return, the government committed to implement reforms that would help reduce its debt.

Lebanon's public infrastructure, which was already stretched before more than one million refugees arrived from neighbouring Syria, is also ailing. Electricity and water supplies are disrupted frequently and rubbish often piles up on the streets.

Observers say one of the striking features of the protests has been how demonstrators have remained above the sectarian divides that have caused so much conflict in the past.

Lebanon has long had a political system designed to balance power between the country's main religious groups.

Imo1stson:

Unfortunately Owerri-Okigwe is a federal road and Enugu-Onitsha isn't better than it. Rochas did well as Governor but PDP relied on early destruction to rubbish his image which has already backfired here in Imo State. Everyone wants Ihedioha out immediately and Imo restored to how it was as at May 29th. We know and have experienced the difference and as we write the level of filth in Owerri and basically every urban area in the State has reached a shameful height to an extent that even PDP members like Uche Ogbuagu have started turning against Governor Ihedioha.

A clear example is this Orji market. Anyone who visits there today like the poster won't know how it was when Okorocha handed over but at least these pictures speak volumes. We miss Rochas hooha!

just looking at that pic i knew the road was not going to last long... roach scam u guys

To give you a complete answer devoid of long discussion simply answer this question. Was Imo State like this as at the date Okorocha handed over?

There is this saying that it is easier to destroy than to build and Imo is a complete case study so whatever you experienced is evidence of months of destruction. On May 30th the 1st thjng Governor Ihedioha did was to destroy Akachi followed by series of destruction of public projects credited to Okorocha in a bid to wipe off Okorocha's legacy.

look at how you reason... so road that are met to last for years got destroy in few months and you see nothing wrong with that. oga rochas na scam all his project where done with inferior materials

In Abia State, the much talked about Abia Rice (Osikapa Abia) could not be found in any market. It was gathered that the Abia Rice has no particular point of production but as produced at the various rice producing communities. Recently, the Chief Press to Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, Mr Onyebuchi Ememanka, told journalists the Ikpeazu administration has established four cottage rice mills at Ofeme, Bende, Acha and Uzuakoli with plans to establish additional mills in Arochukwu and Bende.[/b]
