You wan kill am?

Seriously, I think Ngozi coming along is a big boost for 9ja. Foreign Investments will follow and those thieving ministers will now have to think twice. I commend GEJ on this one even though he is clueless!
No doubt GEJ's cluelessness is legendary - I wouldn't be surprised if he is on that list of 3.

Maybe even him and his wife are the first two Okonjo-iweala is looking at - grin

EFCC, ICPC not aware of Okonjo-Iweala's three big corruption cases

Anti-corruption agencies in the country have said they are not aware of the three big corruption cases the Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi-Okonjo-Iweala, wanted them to prosecute.

Okonjo-Iweala last Wednesday said there were three big cases of corruption and graft the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission and the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission were going to prosecute.

The minister spoke in Abuja while unfolding her economic blueprint for the country.

While talking about strategies for good governance and corruption, Okonjo-Iweala said the EFCC and the ICPC had to recover all stolen assets of the country.

SUNDAY PUNCH's investigations at the EFCC and the ICPC, however, showed that the anti-graft agencies were not aware of the three big corruption cases the minister was referring to.

EFCC's Head of Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Babafemi, said he didn't know the big cases the minister was talking about.

"If she mentions them I will know, but now I have no idea," he said.

The response was the same from the ICPC.

The commission said since the minister had not identified the specific cases, it could not make a comment.

ICPC spokesman, Mr. Folu Olamiti, said, "Maybe if they forward the cases to us, but right now I don't know about them."

The Human Rights Watch had in a report released last Thursday said the efforts in the war against corruption had fallen short.

Politics › Univ Of Ibadon Loses N10 Bn Property To Ibadan Flood - Appeal For Funds From FG by Sunofgod(op): 6:06pm On Aug 31, 2011
BY OLA AJAYI

IBADAN—THE University of Ibadan lost property estimated at N10billion to the flood disaster that ravaged Ibadan city last Friday.

The flood claimed several lives and property in the ancient city.

While lamenting the havoc caused the premier university in the country, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Isaac Adewole, in a statement, said the loss was so much that the management had appealed to the Federal Government for assistance.

He said the appeal for financial aid did not leave out the state government and other corporate bodies in the society

Prof. Adewole said: “There is no way we can handle this alone. For us to return to our form, we certainly need government’s assistance because this devastation is quite massive”.

Breaking down the losses, he said: “The major calamity suffered by the university include the washing away of the Fish Farm with different species of fish valued at about N300 million, over flooding of the Zoological Garden, leading to the death of animals, extensive damage of the Teaching and Research Farm and the destruction of books estimated to the tune of N2billion.

”Besides, many gigantic buildings, laboratories and expensive equipment were destroyed by the flood which equally pulled down the university fence and 13 electricity poles, thereby compounding the hitherto poor electricity supply to the institution.”

The Vice Chancellor added that disaster also affected tudents living at the Obafemi Awolowo Hall, especially those in ground floor and topmost floor.

Corroborating Prof Adewole, Head of Department of Fishery, Dr Bamidele Omitoye, said that special species of fish such as claias gariepinus, heterobranchus bidorsalis, oreochromis niloticus and parachana obscura were swept away

Politics › Re: Ocean Surge Sacks 1000: Lagos Begs FG For Financial Aid by Sunofgod(m): 5:36pm On Aug 31, 2011
So despite all the money Fashola/Tinubu are wasting on spurious projects they want the FG to step in and save Lagos from going underwater?

Does Lagos share the tax revenues they raise with the FG?

If the answer is no then they need to solve this problem themselves - or learn to live with it.

Bottom line is Fashola/Tinubu do not have their priorities in order - and the people of Lagos will suffer for it.

The noise they are making is an attempt to shift blame for their incompetence onto the FG.

Shame on you. Judging without evidence. They may or may not have been Qaddafi fighters. I don't know what any Nigerian is doing in Libya right now though. I would have been out a long time ago but then again I don't know the situation on the ground or their situation. Still don't see any reason here to insult GEJ.
If you listen it clearly states the men were on transit to Italy. Libya has been the crossing point for eons.

Instead of accepting that Nigerians are being murdered in Libya your here making excuses for the 'Rebels'.

What evidence did you see that suggest they are Gaddafi fighters?

GEJ is showing his ineptitude when it comes to dealing with both domestic and international matters - period.

GEJ was ordered to recognise the 'Rebels' and he did with other spineless African leaders.

3/4 of Africa doesn't recognise these hoodlums but backward Nigeria does.

Seems GEJ will do anything for his 'Western Masters'.
Politics › Tam David-West Slams GEJ For Recognizing Libyan Rebels by Sunofgod(op): 8:02pm On Aug 30, 2011
Libya-Nigeria - Former Nigerian Petroleum Minister Tam David-West has described as 'rash and embarrassing' Nigeria's speedy recognition of Libya's rebel National Transition Council (NTC).

In a newspaper interview published Tuesday, the outspoken Professor of Virology said Nigeria's action was 'hasty', especially because Col. Mouamar Kadhafi was still alive and yet to capitulate.

“Right now, Ghadaffi is still Libya’s leader. Despite the rebels’ onslaught and help of NATO’s excessive bombings, he is yet to be caught, nor has his forces surrendered. What (Nigeria's President Goodluck) Jonathan has done is absolutely wrong, infantile and embarrassing to Nigeria.

'He has no circumspection of the situation. He and his advisers ought to be sacked,” David-West said in the interview, published by the local Sun newspaper Tuesday.

He said Nigeria should have acted under the aegis of the African Union (AU), instead of taking a unilateral stand.

“One is not taking sides in Libya’s internal affairs, what we are talking of here is decency and propriety. I’m not saying a dictator anywhere should be tolerated, but let’s allow countries to solve their problems themselves and give the world an alternative. What has happened shows that neither Jonathan nor his advisers are wise. We have mediocre running this country.”

Nigeria was among the first set of the African nations to recognize the NTC, even though the AU decided later that it would not yet recognize the transitional council.

Some local commentators have also hailed the Nigerian government for recognizing the rebels.

So far, only a dozen African countries have recognized the NTC: Botswana, Guinea, Nigeria, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Senegal, Tunisia, Gabon, Burkina Faso, Benin and Djibouti.

Alex Thomson of Channel 4 News reports – and probably saves the lives of nine Nigerian men.

Human Rights Investigations warned that the failure to find a political solution and the entry of rebels into Tripoli would lead to a humanitarian disaster – and that is what has unfolded.

Here are more reports on the situation:
NATO backed rebels storm the district of Abu Salim. Black men are rounded up and forced to chant rebel slogans:

GEJ - Keep delegating your responsibilities.

The bottom line is you should act as referee between the ministers. They should answer to you and you only.

You now have a 'ticking timebomb' on your hands. Its only a matter of time before things explode.

The stupid woman has already basically said her immediate area's of focus is everything from tourism to finance to agriculture to security to oil revenue to projects to this that and the other.

So no doubt she has every intention of treading on everyone's toes.

You've basically made her minister of everything and the other ministers are her 'front men/women'.

Each minister should be allowed to do whats best for their ministry without being dictated to by another minister.

This lady is going to be bad for Nigeria - Just like Sanusi she's has no intention of serving Nigeria.

The ministers need to come together and petition GEJ - if he doesn't play ball then the next thing is to impeach him.

There were potential tagrets within the vicinity including numerous embassies - but it was the UN that was attacked.

Al Qaeda was a CIA invention.

Who's really behind this 'Boko Haram'?

The Northern elite are obvious targets - but their Northern and therefore backward yet these bombings seem to be well co-ordinated.

Anyway, let the saga continue. . . .

Nigerians - The image below is called a 'Drone'

Its about to become a regular sight in our skies especially in the North and Abuja.

- When you see one - dont wave at it or run after it like you do when you see a plane.

- When you see one - Dont fire your catapault at it as its not meat and cannot be eaten.

- When you see one - if your near a muslim distance yourself from him or her.

- When you see one - Just take cover.

Within six months GEJ will be wearing shorts and his old school shirt whilst on official visits.

I'm sure GEJ latest attire has something to do with her 'Austerity Measures'

Up to this point he has tried - but let him not start acting like a 'White man' on hols.
