Hello Guru in the house,
I need your advise on this urgent situation. I don't want to complicate issues...
I'm currently studying in Canada. My study permit was renewed last year September but is set to expire at the end of summer (which is when I'm graduating). However, I want to apply for a temporary study visa (since that already expire so that I can be able to return to Canada whenever I travel outside Canada). Can I add my parents to this application saying they are accompanying me (they want to attend my graduation) instead of applying for a new visit visa for them?
Thank you all for your contribution. |

The VO gave you two opportunities to convince him that you are truly going to school. You might get denied again if you switch to F2. Reapply as F1, then convince the VO that you are actually going to study. anastmary: I applied for F1 visa, with full tuition waiver and RA, I was denied in Aug, 2022 The VO asked me the following: VO: Where are you going? Me: I'm going to YZ University VO: To do what? Me: To purse a PhD in Environmental engineering VO: Where is your spouse? Me: My spouse is studying in the same university Vo: How long have you been married? Me: 18months Vo: why didn't you apply for f2 Me: I didn't have a need for that, I'm going to study Vo; how long have you been married Me: same answer, 18months Vo: why didn't you apply for f2 Me: same answer He issued me the blue paper What we're my mistakes? Now I am applying for F2, my spouse has till Dec 2023 to complete his study, what should be my intended length of stay |

Check out the highlighted text.. Secure funding from your school or any school before reapplying. Phemi93: Good morning Everyone. I was denied in Abuja on Monday. Was a very hard pill to swallow because I didn't really know what went wrong. Please see my transcript.
First Attempt Course: MSc Computer and Information Sciences School: New Mexico Highlands University COA: $24k No funding.
V.O: I see you are going to NMHU for your Masters in Computer and Information Sciences. Me: Yes Ma V.O: Who is funding your studies? Me: My stepdad, Mr Bleep will be shouldering the responsibility. V.O: What does he do? Me: He's into large scale agriculture and a top supplier of livestock and poultry products to restaurants and supermarkets in the Southwestern part of the country. He's also (she cuts me short) V.O: What's your plan after studies? Me: I'll be returning back to my present place of work to assume a senior role as a senior I.T specialist but my long term plan is to set up my own I.T consultation firm. V.O: Is this the only school you applied to? Me: No, I also applied to the University of Alabama and University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee V.O: Did they all give you admission? Me: No, I was rejected by the University of Alabama.
Typed for a short while and passed me the green paper and whatever statement followed wasn't of any interest to me. She wasn't really looking at me throughout the interview. She was on her mouse so I'm sure she was going through my DS 160 which I filled well enough and stated my job roles clearly. I just don't know what went wrong. I need opinions from people for my next trial. |

I will advice you not to waste this visa. You chances of getting a new one is very low. Go to the school, and upon arrival transfer to a less expensive uni. Please, I need advice. My visa was approved for a school in the USA (one of the top schools for the program). My employer was to sponsor me and I used the company's statement of account during my visa process with a sponsorship letter the whole tuition. Now, the company has withdrawn the sponsorship letter because of a change in management. The company just gave me 5k usd. This means I will be responsible for the tuition and living expense.
I can't afford the deficit to attend that particular school. So, I have admissions from 2 other schools (lesser ranking than the other school) with lesser tuition. Someone advised me to transfer my sevis fee to one of the schools. I don't know if this is possible since I already have a visa for the first school.
Do you think there is another way to fund my studies at the first school considering the ranking? I am aware of loan options, but the loan institutions I know, Mpower and prodigy, did not approve my loan application.
What do you advise please |

Writing this on behalf of my sister to encourage someone here.
The US denied her students visa 4 times. We decided to try Canada since the US refused to give her visa. She received admission into 2 university out of the 3 she applied to.
Here’s her Timeline April 26——Study permit Application submitted with upfront medical. April 28—— Did her Biometric. May 6 —— NSE request May 12—— Reasons why she can’t go through NSE was received (sponsor lives in the US and English exam was waived for her). All with evidence. May 28——- Applied for GCMS note July 2 ———- GCMS received but blank July 5 ——- Applied for a new GCMS note July 10 ——— Submitted a webform to ask for the status of the application. July 20 ——- Webform received and told it has been forwarded to Nairobi. July 21 —— Eligibility review started. July 26—— PPR (Passport Request) July 28 ——- Passport sent to Abuja August 4 ——— Passport Stamped August 5 ———- GCMS note received (visa approved).

PPR Alert! (Sister's application) April 26 Applicant
Timeline coming soon...
In the mean time, I need help sending the pp to the Vac office.
1) Can she send her pp to Abuja (note, biometric was done in Lagos).
2) Saw this on the website "the visa application centre (VAC) fees (VACs charge service fees to send your passport to the visa office); " How much is she expected to pay or is this fee the same as the biometric fee?
3) Is a return envelope needed when sending the pp or we have to pay the VAC 1 way courier fee (N12,750)?

My little sister just got the NSE request. However, we want to go through the regular route. Is there anything we can do to let them know that or we should just ignore the request.
Note: Sponsor is in the US. (Only US bank statements were submitted).

I think the problem came from your choice of school or d reasons for settling with UCO over OSU. I graduated from OSU and the school is one of the best universities in Oklahoma. For you to pick UCO (which is a small Uni) over OSU, you need to really convince the VO. Lizamegabush: Good day every one, I must confess that naira land is the best place to be for visa enquiries and the rest, I am kinda new on the platform but have been following up ever since I joined the platform. I was denied of visa on the 15th of November 2019 but have rescheduled for another visa appointment at Abuja embassy for 5th of December, although the previous visa interview was at Lagos consulate but due to the fact that my school resumes on the 13th of January I reapplied but didn't see a good date at the Lagos consular so I went for that of Abuja, I will be sharing my first visa experience although it was quite brief but I will also be sharing my supposed visa conversation for my next Visa interview. At the Lagos consulate, appointment time was 6:45am I arrived by 6:05 am but was delayed as I didn't print my SEVIS proof of payment , I went to the cafe and those guys frustrated my life when they said that my SEVIS payment has not reflected on the site , since on August 2019 , ah I nearly piss for my trouser, they printed a made up letter and gave to me to present on the place of SEVIS proof of payment and collected 2k from me, so I joined the queue and got to the point where I was asked for SEVIS proof of payment , I presented the made copy the cafe guys gave to me and the man looked at me like what!!!! and he wrote no SEVIS on my DS 160 and asked me to proceed , I went in for the interview but later discovered that some of us on my queue skipped the thumbprint session, so we had to go back for the thumbs print, I was praying that I be directed to the guy on window 9 as he was so calm and relaxed unlike the guys on window 6 and 7 but unfortunately , I was directed to the guy on window 6 and this was how the interview went. Vo: Good morning Me: went straight to meet him and I responded good morning sir. Vo: your i20 and passport please Me: quickly passed it to him Vo: so why are you going to the us Me: I am going to the university of central Oklahoma to do my masters in public administration to major in public non profit management. Vo: why this course? Me: the degree will help me with qualities such as * fund raising capabilities and at this point I went blank and couldn't remember anything , so i had to repeat same point again and he cuts in vo: who is your sponsor? Me: my father chief Ezenwa I was about to complete my sentence and he gave the yellow paper and said sorry at this point you are not eligible for the us visa , try again. God I felt as if I was in out of life So I got home and immediately got another visa appointment same day but this time around Abuja embassy for the 5th of December 2019. Total school fees :$23600 But I gain a Global diversity scholarship which is $8000 About 32% discount from the Total school fees and this will last for two years of my masters program as I will be given$4000 each year of my study. So my new proposed transcript is as follows. Vo:where are you going to Me: I am going to the university of central Oklahoma (uco) for my masters in public administration and non profit management. Vo: why this course? Me: this degree will prepare professionally to widen my horizon in The aspect of leadership and management skills, as I have The intention to return to Nigeria after my program to apply for the office of chief protocol officer in the ministry of labour and employment federal republic of NIGERIA, and with This degree I will stand a better chance for such job, and I will serve as a leader or attain key roles in the government Bodies, this degree will not limit me to government organization alone, as some private corporations such as the news and broad casting organization loves to hire those with masters in public administration for policy analysis and international organization management. Vo:how many school did you apply to Me:3 schools Vo: name them Me: Oklahoma State.university(osu) in still water, University of North Texas(until) in long beach and University of central Oklahoma (uco) in Edmond. Vo: why did you choose uco Me: I made my research and I discovered that uco has a flexible system of learning as students are allowed to create a customised system of learning such as * field studies, * internship*work shop* and independent studies so that they can be able to complete their degree faster. Vo:how will you utilize this degree back home. Me' after the completion of my masters, I plan coming home to take over from my family business and move it to a thriving State as I will be the one to do so in few years to come, and I also will go into partnership with the the (NDE) and some higher institution so that we can be able to establish an (Ngo) where I will be raising young minds on how to create a business of Their choice and also training them on how to become great leaders of tommorow as opposed to what we have currently in the country. Vo: who is your sponsor? Me : my uncle Vo: in your previous application you stated your father as your sponsor , why now your uncle? Me: my father has been so very ill of lately and I can not ascertain the outcome of event in the future , so my Uncle chose to take the responsibility.
I am so sorry if this is quite long but I will be so glad if the professionals in the platform can look into this, I am open to take corrections and adhere to any necessary development , thanks. |

sunshine087: Hi everyone,
I need your help.
My younger sister’s visa was denied for the 2nd time in July. Major reason was that; the VO asked her what my plan after graduation was (I graduated on the 2nd of Aug 2019). *I think they saw it on there sys that I was graduating in Aug* But, she mistakenly mention to the vo that I planned to start my PhD in the fall. She actually prepared for a different response for that question.
That was my initial plan but later deferred my admission.
Please what can we do? Is it possible not to include my name in her next application? Please help a brother. |

A bachelor's degree or college diploma in business administration or a related administrative services field is usually required. Several years of experience at a professional level in business administration, finance or administrative services are usually required.
