@ilekeh I am here on behalf of originality. Lol. So here's my take while I am not standing brief for the below average works of our builders/architects and I want them to do well, we must remember that identity is important in whatever we do. For instance if you see some houses you can tell that they are european houses, same with amerian houses, even chinese/japanese/asianish houses without being physically present maybe through pictures or something else. Even the arabians to an extent have their own special styled houses. The SA you mentioned looks almost like europe(tho the country was built by the whites so yeah it should look like europe) nothing african about it. If you see aso oke anywhere in the whole world you know its a yoruba invention. So I don't know if u get my drift. NOTE: I feel we should carve a niche for ourselves with high standards.

This our people sef are very somehow. OMO FOREST RESERVE dosent even have a website or a call contact for information. What is the job of the commissioner of tourism? Because things like this are too small for the governor to be called upon. Yorubaland is quite peaceful and promoting tourism shouldn't be a poblem for us.
PoliticsRe: Yoruba Commonwealth and Politics by superduperjay: 1:56pm On Oct 31, 2015
Just seeing your comment now. We are really blessed to have the ibadan warriors fight our battles. Just for a second try and imagine them being successful? Lol wouldn't have been a funny something.
zimoni:
Blessed be the name of the Lord.

I thank Eledumare, Ibadan warriors and other Yoruba warriors who sent the Tse Tse Flies back to the forest where they belong.

Imagine if the Fulanis had defeated us, all our Obas in Yorubaland would now be Emirs and we would all be muslims.

They always make sure they convert their subjects to Islam so that it would be easy to brainwash them that "That Is How Allah Wants It, It Is The Will Of Allah To Have Emirs In Yorubaland".

GOD FORBID, Olorun maje. Imagine Emirs of Ilesha,Ile-Ife,Ijebu-Ode,Oyo,Ibadan etc.

Oluwa o se oooooooooooooooo.
PoliticsRe: Yoruba Commonwealth and Politics by superduperjay: 1:50pm On Oct 31, 2015
Likewise myself too I always wondered why the ibadan warriors were exceptional but my take on it is that probably was their innate strong point, I couldn't reason out any other angle. I think its also part of the fabric of the yoruba kingdom and what defines the unity of the yoruba people to the shock of the rest of the country. Everyone has their various strengths, some yoruba groups are fantastic in commerce/trade, some are excellent fishermen and farmers, some craftsmen, so somehow everyone has their strong point. Everything you are looking on God's green earth can be found in the yoruba kingdom. So we might not really know why the ibadan warriors were fierce but we are blessed to have them. Same thing in 2000 when those fulani's were disturbing them they countered even to the extent buhari had to go down to oyo state. quote author=Shymm3x post=39543049]Morning everyone.

9jacrip and Mayoroflagos

Before everyone gets on here. I've been reading about the Jalumi War and I'm here to celebrate Ibadan warriors (the saviours of Yorubaland) and Osun, the historical state, where the Yorubas defeated the Fulanis twice. Inisha (1878) and Osogbo (1840).

Err...I'm wondering why all the defeats the Fulanis suffered against Yorubas were inflicted on them by the Ibadans. Apparently, they sacked Oyo twice and actually got to Abeokuta the second time Oyo was sacked. I know Oyo had a brutal cavalry - but what made Ibadan warriors so successful in battles? I definitely need to study more about Ibadan warriors - the saviours of the Yorubas. Proud of Ibadan.

Also, the tactics they used in Osogbo's definitely one of best war tactics I've ever read. And the drowning of the retreating Fulanis at the Otin River, by the Offa folks was crazy - supreme Yoruba warriors. Yorubas have always been great in battles. grin

Anyone interested in reading about Ilorin can read this academic source: https://books.google.co.uk/books?id=350uAgAAQBAJ&pg=PA448&lpg=PA448&dq=jalumi+war&source=bl&ots=H7QcNGQpT0&sig=n64Lto2pfM55iOra3FfNB6TB4Sg&hl=en&sa=X&ved=0CEAQ6AEwCDgKahUKEwiwkeyhsuzIAhXJ1hoKHWmrDEE#v=onepage&q=jalumi%20war&f=false

It was written by a white man and he spelt "Fulani" as "Filane".
You are talking lagos and southwest states? I am talking ekiti and borno/yobe in the same range. It isn't even double figures,Something is definitely wrong with that. A state with a NATURAL WARM SPRING that only needs publicity. Choii. No my friend form osun is aogo. Its a yoruba name don't know what it means tho.
SirShymexx:
It might be a shortened version of a next name. But I know he's of Yoruba and Nigerian descent. The name itself is unique - and apart from him, his dad, and a next bank in Nigeria (Aogo micro finance bank, ondo. Ondo State, Nigeria). No one else bears the name.
TravelRe: Main Reasons Many Are Refused Visas by superduperjay: 5:16pm On Oct 24, 2015
Those other obligations are what I meant because of all the people refused visa I was the only one that didn't pay school fees. Others had paid their school fees 3Keuros, 6keuros someone even paid full 14k Euros but was still denied on the same basis that I was too. Hence the confusion and worry.quote author=Vicjustice post=39319449]
More or less so. First of all, it will serve as a significance of the seriousness of your intention, and also, it can be seen as an indication that you are financially ok in your country thus reducing the risk of staying in Poland after your study. But it will be great if you have other obligations to return to Nigeria for.
TravelRe: Main Reasons Many Are Refused Visas by superduperjay: 9:47am On Oct 24, 2015
Ok. But will that also serve as proof that I'll return to nigeria?
Vicjustice:
It would be hard to get a student visa without full or reasoable commitment to the school which is the basis for your visa application.
One thing is certain, you will get your money back, but I advise you to check the school's refund policy for the terms and conditions.
TravelRe: Main Reasons Many Are Refused Visas by superduperjay: 12:52am On Oct 24, 2015
Or I should go ahead and pay the schhol fee maybe that will ease the process??
Vicjustice:
Usually, school fees are refundable if you request/apply for the refund within their given period, so, your money can't be lost.

the basis for my visa application?? a student. i have a bsc and i want to study medicine i have my admission and paid necesary fees except scchool fees(cause its too much too loose). i want to become a doctor. i have completed my nysc. i didnt mention that i was talking about poland before. thanks.

@Please I need your advice. I was denied a study visa for two reasons. 1)You have not justified your purpose or conditions of intended stay. 2)there is reasonable doubt as to your intention to leave thhe territory before the expiry of the visa. I want to apply afresh but with these two things in mind what should I do? What is proof enough? My parents marriage certificate or what? I am confused.
TravelRe: Main Reasons Many Are Refused Visas by superduperjay: 12:11pm On Oct 22, 2015
Vicjustice:
If you're appealing the decision, the question is; on what ground are you making the appeal?
You would need to prove beyond reasonable doubt that the Visa Officer's decision is unjustifiable and is flawed, otherwise, you would only be wasting your time.

Nice thread though not as rich as the deleted one. Ibadan is so large. Many areas are not shown here. Places like Iyaganku GRA, Apata/ Moor Plantation, Agodi GRA, Ashi, Akobo, Idi Ishin, Oluyole etc
So many quiet and beautiful estates away from the red roof zones (the old city area).
I presume you live in ibadan? You can also take random pictures too and upload or anything that you feel should be seen here.

Haaa aunty you have lied oo shocked shocked that first picture is my estate and nothing like that happened in june. That picture was taken in 2012 during that heavy 2012 rain. Nobody died, nothing of such nature happened. Please stop telling lies you don't know who is on the net.
biafranqueen:
That is a rural village area the OP has showed you.
What I am going to show you is the city where trillions of dollars was spent by a person APC wants to become a Minister.

This picture shows how mere rainfall in that city on Wednesday, June 10, 2015, did not just cause havoc to residents but also resulted in sorrow for a family residing in the Orilowo Ejigbo area of Ejibo Local Council Development Area, as the flood it brought with swept away a 12-year-old girl identified as Kehinde Popoola.

Can you guess which state this is?
Let me give you a hint this state receives the most money in oil revenue and the Royal family threaten to drown tax payers, bringing about a curse to the land.
