You must bleach out your skin before, you become an Oba in Yorubaland.

It's a prerequisite.

ibos and yorubas need to sit and talk. The hatred and distrust are both growing rapidly out of control between these two Tribes. May we not see what they saw in Rwanda.
A Yoruba political thug tried to steal the ballot papers but, met his Waterloo as the electorates descended on him.

Is this why the police chief is holding meetings with the community leaders?

From personal experience an average Igbo man is arrogant ,proud and segregative in nature. They always wants to dominate anywhere they are ,including their host and that’s why they always have problems .
They believed they are superior to other tribes and every other tribes should be subjected to them.Even among their tribe they don’t have regard for anybody ,as Anambra man believe s his superior to Ebonyi or Imo man.
Try engaged them in any conversation and they starts insulting you by calling you unprintable names.Bottomline,Nobody is disturbing you from Lagos ,but respect your host so that that lagoon water go continue to bless you .
Mooron, Igbos must continue to live in Lagos. Knock yourself out if it hurts you so much.

Actually, this depicts Brigadier Obafemi Ogundipe.

After Ironsi's death, Ogundipe, instead of assuming the mantle of authority as the most senior officer, was busy re-allocating living quarters vacated by former federal ministers.

The above is not entirely true, is it now? According to Special Branch report, those detailed to kill Brigadier Maimalari were

Major D. Okafor, Capt. O. Oji, 2/Lt. C.Igweze. And according to the same report, Maimalari escaped the initial attempt on his life by Major

Okafor and his goons only to be accosted by Ifeajunna, his brigade major who shot him dead. Meanwhile, Major Okafor was in a landrover

driven by L/Cpl Noji in search of the Brigadier not knowing that major Ifeajunna had finished the job, he failed on.

source=========>SPECIAL BRANCH REPORT: Military Rebellion of 15th January 1966

So i ask you again who was/were supposed to kill Ironsi. And which other party did Ironsi attended after leaving Maimalari's party?
It was Don Okafor's responsibility to capture Ironsi and Maimalari.

Ironsi went to catch some fun after Maimalari's party. That was Okafor's report and, it was affirmed to be true.

Ifeajuna acted on his own to have killed Maimalari cos he could have easily arrested him. Bridiger Madiebo opined that Ifeajuna had personal scores to settle with Maimalari hence, his actions.

T9ksy:
Maimalari too escaped the initial attempt on his life by major Okafor but Ifeajunna went berserk saying the man must be taking out. He immediately went looking for his brigade commander and when he finally came across him on the road, calmly walked up to Maimalari and shoot him dead in cold blood.

Who was detailed to kill Ironsi? And why did no one went looking for Ironsi after he had allegedly escaped the first attempt on his life? Only for this same Ironsi to then turn round and quell the coup.

Ibo logic 101.
Major Don okafor was detailed to Ironsi but, he didn't find him at home. Brigadier Maimalari had thrown a party for the senior officers and, Ironsi was present.

Don okafor went after Ironsi at his home, thinking that Ironsi had returned from Maimalari's party but unfortunately, Ironsi had been to another party after Maimalari's party.

It wouldnt be totally wrong to say it was an Ibo coup.
85% of the coup plotters were Ibos.
And the more so because it is alleged that they allowed Nnamdi Azikwe an Ibo man escape while other people in govt were killed.
Listen, someone tipped Azikiwe off just as Akintola was also tipped off but, refused to leave the country.

BTW, Azikiwe wasn't marked out to be killed. It was just the prime minister, the four regional premiers and, their right hand men.
PoliticsRe: David Ejoor Is Dead by SuperIgbo1(m): 2:42am On Feb 15, 2019
Deadlytruth:
You keep calling others slaves of the North when slavery to the North actually started with your brothers Azikiwe and Aguiyi Ironsi. Azikiwe sold out the South to the North by preferring the master-slave coalition government of Balewa and himself to the rejection of the East-West coalition offer which would have made him the Prime Minister. That singular poorly thought out decision triggered off every act which further destroyed Southern unity and we all ended up as losers to the North till today. But why you always never acknowledge that Azikiwe sowed the seeds of southern disunity hence slavery to the North is what always beats me.
Do you honestly think this selective finger pointing of yours will help Igbos get their Biafra or help the entire South disentangle themselves from Northern domination?
Y'all are quick to call Azikiwe forgetting, Akintola.

Akintola was a bigger slave than Azikiwe. Akintola accepted Balewa's plan to wallop the west and its intellectuals for their continuous call for his removal as the premier of the west.

Biafran troops, The federal troops never invaded the Midwestern region, Ojukwu miscalculated and that decision cost him a lot.
Listen, the Midwest entry by Biafran forces is a complex one. It was Banjo who needed troops to move to Lagos and, dethrow Gowon.

Besides, the Midwest Igbos had no problems welcoming their kins.

BafanaBafana:
The coup was planned by military officers of nothern extraction. It was code named "operation aure". I never read anywhere that civilians were involved. The plan was to oust Ironsi and bring the "igbo coup " plotters to book. But at a point in the execution of the coup, the NCOs and soldiers whoose anger had gone off the roof took over and went on a killing spree.

Did the coup plotters turn against each other? I don't see it that way. The only way you can take power in a military regime is by usurping power. And that's just what was happening.
When will the living perpetuators of the counter-coup be brought to book?
