The US House of Representatives has officially impeached President Donald Trump, making him the first president in history to be impeached twice. On Wednesday, the House voted to approve one article of impeachment on a vote of 232-197, charging the president with “incitement of insurrection” for his role in riling up a large crowd of Trump supporters who launched an attack on the Capitol last week as lawmakers worked to certify the results of the 2020 election. Unlike Democrats’ first impeachment of Trump in 2019, this vote proved to be bipartisan — with 10 House Republicans, including No. 3 ranking House Republican Rep. Liz Cheney, voting with Democrats to impeach Trump. Democrats have been laser-focused on getting Trump out of office as soon as possible; the House voted Tuesday night to urge Vice President Mike Pence to remove Trump using the 25th Amendment. |

With the coming of the dry season and Harmattan, I decided to engage some labourers to clear the grasses that have engulf my Palm tree plantation situate at Auchi in Edo state. I got the idea of starting this farm mid this year from a thread here on Nairaland. I purchased about 1200 young palm from the nursery at the Nigeria Institute for Oil Palm research (NIFOR) in Benin city. Not that I have the money to sustain the business, but I felt somehow I will manage and the end result will be good. |
The Borno State Government has debunked media reports claiming there was another attack by Boko Haram on the convoy of Borno Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum. A report by an online media medium had claimed that terrorists on Saturday, ambushed an advance team of the governor at Ja’alta along Gajiram to Monguno Road, killing seven soldiers and members of Civilian-JTF. A statement issued by Zulum’s spokesman, Malam Isa Gusau, on Sunday, November 22, said the governor traveled to Baga, spent a day supervising the distribution of food and other relief to thousands of residents and returned to Maiduguri safely with no hitch whatsoever. “For the record, we write to quickly clarify that contrary to a “breaking news” by an online news medium, Governor Babagana Umara Zulum was neither attacked nor was any component of his convoy attacked by anyone,” the statement says. “The governor was actually in Baga from Saturday to Sunday, during which he supervised the distribution of food and cash support to 5,000 residents and he assessed major reconstruction and resettlement efforts with no hitch whatsoever,” “While we continually accord respect to all media organizations as supportive partners, we importantly clarify that we have no knowledge of the breaking news” in question. As members of the public can testify, it is the culture and principle of Professor Zulum to say things as they are, and in this case, it is what it is – no attack whatsoever. “Any media organization that wants further clarification may wish to contact the Nigerian military. Meanwhile, Governor Zulum appreciates all well wishers, and he gratefully commends armed forces and civilian volunteers for the relentless efforts to fully regain lasting peace in Borno State.” the statement added. |

Beginning December 2019: I had so many neighbors whom had a dry cough, and a low-grade fever with flu-like symptoms. Antibiotics were of no effect after an entire month: Eventually, each one was placed on oral steroids. I believe that this was the onset of COVID. |
As a realist...I’ll prefer the painful truth any day than a blissful lie. |
