But he was fooling no-one despite having Cristiano Ronaldo's name emblazoned across his back. The invader doesn't quite get a touch on the ball and can be seen having a quick chat with Madrid striker Karim Benzema before being escorted off the pitch. Ronaldo gave the European champions the lead after only four minutes. But goals from Germany striker Mario Gomez and ex-Bolton and Sunderland defender Marcos Alonso turned the game around. It's not the first time a pitch invader has tried to get involved in the action at a sporting event. Infamous prankster Karl Power flagrantly joined the team photo for Manchester United's Champions League quarter-final with Bayern Munich at Old Trafford in 2001. Although other United players noticed his presence Power managed to stay on for the photo. He also walked out to bat when England's cricket team played Australia the same year Power has also played tennis against Tim Henman at Wimbledon, danced the haka for the England rugby team and beat Michael Schumacher to the winner's podium at Silverstone. Actually, I got the list from facebook. . When I saw it, I was like WTF? So, I decided to post it here on NL only to login and see 20+ mentions. God knows If I get such a list from my intending inlaws even if I be Dangote pikin, na to tear race oh but I know that there are some people who think that because someone wants to marry their daughter, they see it as a ladder of upgrade, like the man is a kinda God sent saviour. Then after the man sees that all he paid for wasn't worth it, the frustration could make him beat up the wife. |

I'm with Mr. President on this and all those saying that the President was unprofessional, blah blah blah are bloody hypocrites/opportunist looking for the slightest opportunity to castigate the President. Nonsense! Go and tell that to the birds or tell that to the families of those infected. So what is the best adjective to describe that man's action? despite knowing the fact that he was infected, he still travelled down here. Isn't that craziness? Infact, the President was very subtle with his choice of words. |

KANO – The Joint Military Task force in Kano, Monday, denied the arrest of 16 suicide bomber in their custody. The spokesman of the Joint Military Task Force in Lt. Ikechukwu Eze told Vanguard on phone that “we don’t have 16 female suicide bombers in our custody” Lt Eze who refused to clarify on the suspected arrest of trainers of female suicide bomber within Kano metropolis berated the press of been sensational on issues bothering on national security. Asked to confirm whether the military outfit carried out operation that culminated in the arrest of those behind the female suicide bombing in Kano of late, Lt Eze begged to cut the conversation. I don’t know what you are talking about and if you wouldn’t mind let’s end the conversation on this note. However, security sources in Kano confided in Vanguard that the JTF raided the hideout of suspected terrorist in Kano metropolis August 4th and arrested 6 persons that included two ladies of secondary school age”.
