madridguy: It was while in the hospital that one of officers who he had worked with him in a Joint Taskforce recognized him. The soldiers who tortured him to almost a point of death upon being queried by their superior said they did not know that he was a police officer.
What a ridiculous statement!
Should any human being be treated so horribly over alleged wrong packing?
Our armed forces seriously need attention especially the Nigeria Police and Nigeria Army because majority of their operatives are nothing but touts in uniform. Imagine beating someone to this extent over a mere issue..... And you still have the audacity to say you didn't know the victim is a police officer... This is after over ten men fought a single man...
The last time was Policemen fighting a lawyer who came to your station to bail his client and only for you to heat him with gun, abuse him and lock him up inside same cell with his client.
Seriously something has to be done as soon as possible because our uniform men just seen themselves above the law.
Just imagine the bolded part. Crazy society. So even if he's not an officer, are they supposed to dehumanize him in such manner for wrong packing?.
It's crazy the criminals we have in both Nigerian Army and police. Very crazy.
Is their no code of conduct for our security men?. Does carrying gun empower One to lord it over fellow citizens?.
Even police officers are not exempted from this ugly trend. Read how an inspector of police one victor serving in Rivers State but from Akwa ibom, was always threatening the husband of his ex girlfriend whom he allegedly fathered a daughter with.
HOW NIGERIAN ARMY PERSONNEL TORTURED AND BRUTALIZED SERVING POLICE OFFICER ASP EDET INWANG TILL HE LOST CONSCIOUSNESS OVER ALLEGED WRONG PACKING
These are graphic videos and pictures of a serving Assistant Superintendent of Police posted to the Delta State Police Command, ASP Edet Inyang.
The attack happened on the 9th of December 2023. He parked his vehicle at a store close to the Nigerian Army's 63 Brigade in Asaba to purchase some items.
Upon packing, he heard the voice of a man on mufti whom he would later identify as one Lance Corporal Onyibuchi of the Intelligence Department attached to the 63 Brigade, Asaba talking from a far distance and speaking in tones which he could not comprehend.
While the ranting was going on, a uniformed soldier approached him and requested him to re-park his vehicle. He immediately made attempts to comply with the instruction.
While he was trying to re-park, the said Lance Corporal approached him and dragged him backwards and asked him why he refused to obey his instructions.
Edet tried to explain that he did not hear him properly because he was inaudible given the distance between them.
The next thing was for the said Lance Corporal to start pounding on and brutalizing ASP Edet along with not less than ten other soldiers. They brutalized him till he lost consciousness and they had to take him to the military hospital for medical care.
It was while in the hospital that one of officers who he had worked with him in a Joint Taskforce recognized him. The soldiers who tortured him to almost a point of death upon being queried by their superior said they did not know that he was a police officer.
What a ridiculous statement!
Should any human being be treated so horribly over alleged wrong packing?
Assuming without conceding that he did not park properly, or that he parked at a wrong place, should the response be an attempt on his life?
Is traffic offence now within the jurisdiction of the Nigerian Army?
This is a grave violation of fundamental rights. ASP Edet Inwang is still receiving treatment. His left ear is barely functioning. They used iron rod to hit his head. They also used the butt of a gun to assault him till he bled.
I have written to the Chief of Army Staff to demand that the offending soldiers be duly punished and adequate compensation paid to ASP Edet.
We cannot continue to live in a country where the rights of citizens are abused brazenly without consequences.
The @HQNigerianArmy should address this matter urgently.
JUST IN: I’ll support Tinubu without apologies – PDP chieftain, Bwala
10th January 2024
Daniel Bwala
By Stephen Angbulu
Kindly share this story:
A chieftain of the opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party, Daniel Bwala, on Wednesday, said he is committed to supporting the administration of President Bola Tinubu, even if that requires him to defect to the All Progressives Congress.
“I told him today, I am committing to play my part to support your administration, and I have no apologies to anybody,” Bwala told State House correspondents after closed-door talks with the President at the Aso Rock Villa, Abuja.
“APC is a party. President Bola Tinubu is my motivation; if supporting him will take me to APC, so be it,” he stated when asked if he would defect to the APC.
On January 2, 2024, Bwala, a staunch critic of the governing APC and the Tinubu administration, said opposition political parties must form a strong coalition if they would successfully wrestle power from the governing APC in the 2027 general elections.
Bwala, a guest on Channels Television’s Politics Today, said that without a coalition of opposition parties, President Tinubu would spend eight years in office.
“Without a coalition of political parties, Tinubu is going to spend the next eight years. That one is for sure.
“The truth of the matter is that there will be a coalition of political parties that will be very strong. This is a fact that I know.
“The coalition that is coming will swallow some of the elements that are creating the problems in the various political parties,” he said.
He commended the President’s suspension of the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Dr Betta Edu, saying, “Some of his (Tinubu’s) Ministers that were allegedly reported to have committed infractions, instead of protecting them, he asked that the law should have its course and suspended somebody without wasting time. That, to me, is impressive because it’s about the people.”
Referring to Tuesday’s announcement of a 60 per cent slash in travel entourages for the Presidency and MDAs, Bwala remarked, “There has been this outcry that the government is bloated. Yesterday, he introduced a policy that reduced the cost of governance and today, he told me it is just the beginning.”
The legal practitioner said the President assured him that more cost-cutting measures are underway to reduce the cost of governance.
“What have we been talking about as citizens is that if you don’t have a personal grudge against someone…if it is a policy issue.
“What I’m saying apart from today that I’m talking here is that you all need to visit my Twitter page. In the last few days, I have been expressing my surprise and appreciation to the President for the decisions he is making. So, this is not about political party. And you need to know that, like I said, I was with him before I left. And I was doggedly committed to him. “I told him today that I am committing to play my part to support your administration, and I have no apologies to anybody,” he explained.

Kingosytex: See how they're tied like goats. E don be for these ones. South Americans don't joke with law and order, Ronaldinho was sometime humiliated in in Paraguay despite being a world renowned celebrity. It seems Nigeria is the only nation not ready to get things done correctly. If it were to be in Nigeria, one thing will lead to the other and criminals won't even be televised.
