In my previous post to you, did I say anything about video?

Are you saying that all those people were attacked because of football?

So you mean they were all being attacked at the same time?

How many nigerians were involved in the attack?

After the "attack", was there nothing to show to prove that they were attacked?

Police Arrest Kidnapper, Reject N8.5m Bribe In Taraba

A team of mobile police officers (MOPOLs) attached to the 40 Police Mobile Force in Jalingo, Taraba State has rejected a bribe of N8.5million from a suspected kidnapper and arrested him.
The state commissioner of police, CP Joseph Eribo, disclosed this when he paraded some suspected criminals in Jalingo, the state capital.

He said the suspected kidnapper was arrested on Monday at 9:45 pm in a Toyota Starlet car with registration number YLA 321 ZY on the Jalingo-Yola Bypass Road.
Eribo said, “When interrogated, the suspect could not give a satisfactory account of himself, hence a search was conducted on his vehicle and the following items were in his possession: a cash sum of N8.555 million, seven phones, 3,000 unused MTN recharge cards, four amulets.
“The suspect bribed the PMF personnel, requesting them to take the whole money and allow him to go, but the PMF personnel refused and arrested him accordingly. The case is under investigation and the suspect will soon be charged to court,” he said.

Meanwhile, troops of the 144 Battalion (Rear) of 6 Brigade, Jalingo, have engaged bandits who kidnapped three persons in Jalingo in a gun duel.
The acting assistant director of Army Public Relations, 6 Brigade, Lt. Olubodunde Oni, in a statement, said the bandits were heading to Yorro when the troops engaged them in a gun battle.
He said, “Acting on intelligence regarding the movement of the bandits with their victims from Ardo-Kola to Yorro, troops deployed in Apawa village of Yorro local government area swiftly mobilised to the area and trailed the armed group.

“The troops displayed exceptional skill and determination, engaging the criminals with superior firepower.
“This forced the bandits to abandon their three abducted victims.
“We are pleased to report that the rescued individuals have been reunited with their families as we continue on the trail of the kidnappers,”
he said.

" We Don’t Fear You” – Isaac Fayose Berates Chief Of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila Over 3-Years Jail Term Rule For Critics"

By Owolabi Ayobami- February 11, 2024

Femi Gbajabiamila, the Chief of Staff, has come under fire from Isaac Fayose, the brother of former Ekiti Governor Ayodele Fayose.
A few days ago, the Chief of Staff advocated for social media control, portraying it as a threat.
In agreement with him, Amnesty International stated that those who criticise the president run the prospect of being imprisoned for three years, explaining further the implications of social media regulations.

Isaac responded to it on his Instagram page, saying that he doesn’t fear a three-year jail sentence or Femi Gbajabiamila. If he can’t fix Nigeria, he should step down.

He wrote,

“Who dey fear 3 years in prisonhuh Egbon Femi Gbajabiamila Abeg we know fear you …
If you can’t fix Nigeria you can resign!!!”.

Abia State Budget Shows Governor Otti Budgeted N1.5billion For ‘Purchase Of Two Toyota Hilux’ For His Office

February 3, 2024

NEWS

SaharaReporters had earlier reported that Otti proposed to spend a total sum of N13 billion on the purchase of cars, vans, trucks and buses in 2024.

A total of N1.5billion will be spent by the Governor Alex Otti’s administration in Abia State for the purchase of “two number of Toyota Hilux” in 2024, a copy of the state’s 2024 approved budget seen by SaharaReporters has revealed.

SaharaReporters had earlier reported that Otti proposed to spend a total sum of N13 billion on the purchase of cars, vans, trucks and buses in 2024.

Otti on December 28, 2023, assented to the 2024 Appropriation Bill of N567.2 billion.

In the breakdown of the budget, N5,946,756,437 was budgeted for the purchase of motor vehicles, N2,704,980,600 for the purchase of vans, N949,000,000 for the purchase of trucks and N3,011,804,906 for the purchase of buses.

A further breakdown of the budget by SaharaReporters showed that N1.5 billion out of the N13 billion approved for vehicles will be used for “Purchase of 2 Number Toyota Hilux”.

The contract was captured under Total Capital Expenditure, Reform for Government and Governance, Office of the Governor.

This is the first time such amount would be budgeted for purchase of such vehicles in the last four years, a copy of the approved budget further revealed.

Another N712 million was also budgeted and approved by the state assembly for the “Purchase of 2 No of Nissan Trucks for Government House”.

The billions of Naira for the four vehicles was approved to be spent at a time when the state is borrowing to finance over 70 percent of the N567.2 billion budget for 2024.

SaharaReporters had reported that the approved budget had a deficit of around N400 billion which the state said would be financed with local and external borrowings.

The state’s revenue for 2024 in the budget was estimated at N166 billion which will be generated through grants from multilateral organisations, Internally Generated Revenue (IGR), allocation from the Nigerian government and other income sources.

In 2023, SaharaReporters reported how Otti spent a whopping N927 million within three months on refreshments/meals, settlement of honorarium, allowances, and welfare packages for the eggheads.

About N737,922,661.25 was also spent to buy motor vehicles within this period. However, the quantity and the people the vehicles were bought for were never stated.
According to a copy of the state budget performance obtained by the newspaper, the governor spent N223,389,889.84 on refreshments/meals, while N305,400,000.00 was spent on honorarium and sitting allowance for government officials between July and September 2023.

The Otti-led government also claimed it spent N397,520,734.00 on welfare packages in the document.

Meanwhile, N362,804,050.00 was spent by the Abia government to purchase trucks and another N400,890,000.00 was used for the purchase of buses.

Also in the document, the government claimed that N252.4 million was used to run the Deputy Governor's office for 3 months.

The report however showed that only N25 million was spent by the government on the repair of public schools in the state despite that many public primary and secondary schools in the state are in bad shape.

According to multiple reports online, most public secondary and primary school buildings and facilities across the 17 local government areas of the state have aged and decayed over the government’s negligence.

Several school buildings are reportedly dilapidated with leaking roofs, broken furniture, doors and windows.
