LocalStandard1: It is in this very century that Nigeria produced a Yoruba President from the South West, two Fulani Presidents from the North West, a South South President.
It is still in this century that Nigeria produced a Vice President from the North East, a Vice President from the South South, a Vice from the North West, and one from the South West.
I think it's time and it's also save to say Nigeria is not only ripe but ready for a President from the South East.
Everything has prepared Peter Obi for this moment, it is no coincidence. Character, principle, capability, competence, integrity, frugality, leadership, resource management and distribution, everything!
Even the Party name and Logo are the best and most impressive yet! LABOUR PARTY! fine name, fine concept.
No wonder in just eight months the widely unpopular Labour Party has risen to a strong position in national politics and discuss. No wonder Peter Obi is positioned with a deputy like Datti Ahmed and non other, also of impeccable character. Both equally successful in the private sector and in politics. Both very successful even before going into politics and thus able to thrive even outside it.
Sweeping into the fore of the Nigerian political space like the infamous tri-State tornado, these men are IT! These men are just the perfect fit!!

Crime › Re: NDLEA Arrests Church General Overseer Over Drug Trafficking En-route Dubai by Suunnn(f): 10:01pm On Feb 12, 2023 |
SojWORLDWIDE: The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, has arrested the Founder and General Overseer of Seraphic and Sabbath Assembly in Lagos, High Priest Nnodu Azuka Kenrick.
Also arrested was a student of Emmanuel College of Theology in Ibadan, Udezuka Udoka, and Freight Agent, Oyoyo Mary Obasi, the agency’s spokesperson Femi Babafemi announced on Sunday.
The suspects attempted to export methamphetamine and skunk concealed in kegs through the NAHCO export shed of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, MMIA, in Lagos to Dubai.
Nnodu was arrested on February 11 at his Church located at No 1, Sabbath Close in Ijesha, Lagos, following the arrest of Obasi and Udoka.
The NDLEA seized 283 parcels of skunk weighing 14.90 kilograms and 204 grams of meth concealed in four 25-litre kegs of palm oil destined for the United Arab Emirates, UAE.
Obasi mentioned the GO of her new church and his son, Chisom Obi, who is now at large, as the persons that gave her the consignments.
She disclosed being compelled to take an oath of secrecy as well as a sacrifice of chicken in the church while Priest Nnodu prayed for the success of the transaction.
Obasi said the Clergyman and his son used threats to compel her to take the job after they knew she had known their secrets.
The suspect revealed Nnodu was always referring to the illicit drugs as Ice and Bible, (street names for meth and cannabis) in their phone chats.
In his confession, Udezuka revealed he was paid N2 million for his role and had to do it because he needed the money for his education.
Another attempt to send a consignment of skunk and tramadol 225mg to the UAE by a Dubai-returnee, Nnamani Monday Innocent, was busted on February 7. READ ALSO:. OSUN Police set to arrest, prosecute POS Operators, Filling Station attendants engaging in Naira sales
Innocent was arrested at Trade Fair complex in the Ojo area, where he had gone in company of his friend Nwanana Emmanuel Ikechukwu to process the consignment for export.
NDLEA operatives attached to the SAHCO export shed of the Lagos airport also intercepted a cargo going to London, United Kingdom.
Food items packed in a carton were used to conceal 1.10 kilograms of meth. The freight agent, Agholor Emmanuel, who presented the cargo for export is in custody.

Ekspensive: I will not respond to Tinubu’s abuses — Gov Emmanuel
“There is nothing like ‘emilokan’ (it is my turn) here, Nigeria is in God’s hands”
Gov Emmanuel Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom state says he is more concerned about installing good governance to rescue Nigeria and Nigerians from their present woes than joining issues with the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu. Governor Emmanuel who was reacting to an insulting statement by the candidate during the APC Rally in Uyo, Akwa Ibom state capital on Monday, noted that Tinubu has nothing to bring to the table for Nigerians, hence his decision to abuse people instead of issue-based campaigns. Tribune reports that Tinubu during his rally in Uyo Monday afternoon had said, “Akwa Ibom, that Boy was bring were brought Atiku here, was de call himself state Governor, tell him enough is enough! He lives in my backyard in Lagos, If no be say we be one I would drive him home. You see that mansion he is living, I would just use lizards, pigeons and scorpions and put them inside.“ In a subtle reaction, the Governor said despite being insulted by the one time one-time Lagos State Governor, he would prefer to allow peace to reign by ignoring him and focusing on helping install good governance to rescue Nigerians from their present woes. Speaking during the inauguration of newly appointed Permanent Secretaries and Government, Chairmen and Members of Boards and Commissions, as well as a Transition Committee to ensure the smooth transition of power to the next administration in Government House, Uyo, the Governor said, for the country to remain at peace, one party must ‘play saint’ and that is why he would refrain from replying Tinubu. The Governor who is the Chairman of the PDP presidential campaign stated, “I also go to other states, and if you watch our campaigns, my principal (Atiku Abubakar) has never spoken about any Governor, he has never spoken openly about Asiwaju before.” Mr Emmanuel said it was unfortunate that Tinubu, who was granted State-owned facilities such as the airport, security, stadium, and a good atmosphere to come in and sell his manifesto, ended up insulting the integrity of over 7.9 million Akwa Ibom people. He wondered if any Akwa Ibomite can go to Lagos where Tinubu stays or the actual State that he hails from, to insult him in like manner and still be allowed to safely return. “But here our people at the Stadium including some state governors just laughed and applauded him. “What makes him think he will govern Nigeria? If I reply to him now, people will call me and say, haba! oga you are not like that. But I will reply to him one day. There is nothing like ‘emilokan’ (it is my turn) here, Nigeria is in God’s hands”. He emphasized. He however thanked the newly appointed Permanent Secretaries for accepting the onerous task of service and urged them to see themselves as ambassadors and work towards raising the bar of leadership which will encourage productivity and promote good working relationships with subordinates in the service. “This is one thing I promised Akwa Ibom people that appointment of Permanent Secretaries shall be totally on merit; let those that can do the work be given the opportunity. A permanent Secretary is not a promotion, it is an appointment on merit. Governor Emmanuel also reiterated his commitment towards enhancing efficiency within Civil Service, noting that during his administration civil servants have been promoted on yearly basis, adding that before he exits office more Permanent secretaries will be appointed into the service to fill vacant positions left by the ones who retired. Addressing Chairmen of Boards and Commissions, Governor Emmanuel who described them as pillars in government, acknowledged their commitment particularly, Chairman, of Akwa Ibom State Environmental Protection & Waste Management Agency (AKSEPWMA) Prince Akpan Ikim, for winning laurels for the state through his outstanding performance in keeping and making the state the cleanest in Nigeria for five consecutive years from 2018 through 2022, and tasked others to create an impact that will stand them out. In the same vein, the Transition Committee members were handed the task of ensuring a seamless transition of government to an incoming administration, and also verifying all projects executed by the present administration. The newly appointed Permanent Secretaries are; Mfon Inuaesiet Edemekong Esq., Dr Stephen Effiong, Atim Chelly Okoko, Iquo Okon Abia Esq., Uwem Sunday Andrew-Essien, Isaiah Robson Ntekim and Emaeyak Nyong Akpan as Auditor General for Local Government.
The Transition Committee has Mrs. Ekereobong Umoh -Chairman, Uko Udom SAN, Prof Augustine Umoh, Dr. Ini Adiakpan, Mrs. Nsemeke Daniel, Dr. Nathaniel Adiakpan, Mr Elijah Udoiyak, Mrs. Esther Inyang, Pastor Uwem Andrew-Essien, Mr. Isaiah Ntekim, Mr. Effiong Ekpenyong and Mrs. Bella Akpanya as members. Ceenaija: S K C Udom the national coordinator, movement for the people's right and privileges had advised Tinubu to stop spending his money in renting crowd in his presidential rallies. The mindset of Nigerians are changing, people are now asking questions. SKC suggested that it is better for Tinubu to talk to the Nigeria on what he has done and what he going to do by granting interview to the press from time to time.
If Tinubu understands the importance of what Peter Obi is doing by granting interviews here and their. Always looking for the opportunity to talk to people, his priorities will no longer be renting crowd but to speak Nigerians in a wider coverage with enough time
SKC Udom revealed that he was in the stadium during the said rally at Akwa Ibom, 80% of the attendance are there not for Tinubu but to collect their own part of the money been shared.
SKC revealed that he is not in support of any presidential candidate but at the look of things Peter Obi will spring surprises that will be beyond Nigerians imagination. Tinubu need rest |

Business › Re: Hawkers Sell Redesigned Naira Notes At Zaria Motor Park by Suunnn(f): 10:50pm On Jan 28, 2023 |
Icartaway: In the midst of a scarcity of new naira notes, hawkers of the newly redesigned notes have spread the popular Dadi Motor Park in Sabon Gari-Zaria, Kaduna State. Large wads of different denominations of new naira notes were on show for potential buyers at the entrance to Dadi Motor Park in the Kwangila neighborhood of Zaria, according to the News Agency of Nigeria.
NAN’s investigation finds that a bundle of new naira notes in denominations of N200 notes was being sold for N30,000; N500 and N1,000 notes are being sold for N70,000 and N130,000, respectively; and N100 notes are being sold for N16,000.
According to Mohammed Bello, a new naira note hawker, depending on the note denominations, they paid between N70,000 and N130,000 to purchase brand-new N500,000 notes.
Mr. Bello refused to reveal the money’s origins or its sources of encumbrances, though.
Thomas Damina, a patron of the mints merchants and a resident of Gozaki village in Kafur Local Government Area of Katsina State, disclosed to NAN that he purchased the fresh N20,000 and N1000 notes for N25,000.
He claimed he was compelled to pay the expensive amount for the money in order to pay the laborers working on his dry-season farm.
“Traders in my community (Gozaki) are rejecting the old notes and the money is not available at the banks. I have no option than to buy from cash hawkers,” Mr Damina said.
NAN said that people flocked to the banks in an effort to trade in the new Naira notes before the deadline of January 31.
When NAN visited PZ, the commercial center of the old city of Zaria, the majority of the ATMs of certain commercial banks were not dispensing cash.
Trading in Naira notes is illegal under Section 21 of the CBN Act, 2007, and is subject to punishment under that section’s Section 21 Subsection 4.
In spite the laws prohibiting hawking of naira notes and coins, the perpetrators were freely doing their businesses close to the police out post at Kwangila, Sabon Gari Zaria.
Reacting to the development, DSP Mohammed Jalige, the Police Public Relations Officer, Kaduna State police command, assured that the police would swing into action against the crime.
