Gaming / Re: Olasunkanmi Alex Alasia Is A Notorious Ps Scammer, Don't Fall For Him by Swagavillage(m): 9:21pm On Feb 10
Greatzeus:

Anyone can come online to write anything. If I have your full name and account details,I can also claim you're a scammer.
What I'm saying is show us evidence you transacted business with the above named person, and he defrauded you.
Also when will you guys ever learn to stop sending money to random guys on nairaland,a coven of scammers.

I wanted to get a PS 4 console from a declutter page, and after payment, I was sent sellers name as Olasunkanmi Alex Alasi with mobile number 08166064999 who stays somewhere around Sangotedo, I went to pick up since I am close by at that moment, but on getting to the estate gate, he called saying be was about driving out and that I should wait for him, I suspected something was wrong, so I said I was inside the estate already, and he should wait for me. Fortunately, I went to the estate and while he was trying to locate me, I already sighted the house he stays from afar, we met, and he was assuring me the game was in perfect shape and I just needed to pick it up. For anyone who knows the PS 4, it is plagued with the deadly Blue light of death (BLOD) and in most casses, you can not verify or experience that until after a prolong use of the console (maybe around an hour or 2) and the guy or any seller obviously will not give me the luxury of time, plus, I needed to confirm it's working before I leave with the console. The first red flag I saw was this guy not having a profile picture on his dp, secondly, on meeting him, he looked obviously like those online fraudsters that were rich at one point. But at that moment, I had no choice but to depend or trust in his word.

I took the game, went home and the very first day I played it, it tripped off and the BLOD issue came up after like an hour, I had to alow it to cool off for hours before It came up again, and the cycle continues. I reached out to the guy and he totally refused to respond to any messages, so much for a honest guy.

I was not even asking for a refund, I just wanted him to acknowledge and apologize, but obviously, a scammer is no different from an armed robber and he won't budge, so I was just thinking, how will someone wanting to buy a ps 4 know the BLOD issue since many can't be diagnosed till after prolong use, just in case of next time

A funny clip has emerged showing the moment a housemate was being questioned for attempting to assault another housemate.

The clip, from Housemates Salone Season 2, the Big Brother of Sierra Leone left many shocked after a housemate told the Big Brother that she was going to 'slap am back' after an incident with another housemate, has caused reactions with many saying Big Brother Naija housemates are not this bold, and some comparing the incident with Erica and Laycon's from the most recent Big Brother Naija.

It will be recalled that Kidwaya and Erica were guests at the Housemates Salone a few days ago where they had a chat with the housemates.

The Housemates are currently doing their best, putting up performances that will enable them score points in order to make it to the top in order for anyone of them to emerge as the winner to bag the covetous prize of Two Hundred and Fifty Million Leones (Le250M).

Romance / Scotland Becomes 1st Nation To Make Sanitary Products Free by Swagavillage(m): 2:42pm On Nov 25, 2020
Scotland has become the first country in the world to make period products freely available to all who need them, after final approval was given to a landmark piece of legislation in Parliament on Tuesday.

The measures are intended to end “period poverty” — or the circumstances, and in some cases, prohibitive expense that have left many without access to sanitary products when they need them.

Nicola Sturgeon, Scotland’s first minister, posted on Twitter shortly after the vote on Tuesday evening that she was “proud to vote for this groundbreaking legislation” which she called an “important policy for women and girls.”

A draft bill received initial approval in Parliament in February, and the measure was officially passed on Tuesday, with lawmakers voting unanimously in its favor.

Two years ago, Scotland also made history when it began providing free sanitary products to students at schools, colleges and universities through a government program. Wales and England followed last year with similar programs that provide free sanitary products in schools.

The new law in Scotland builds on the earlier measure, introducing a legal right of free access to tampons and sanitary pads in schools, colleges, universities and all other public buildings. Under the legislation, the government will set up a Scotland-wide initiative, in collaboration with local authorities, to allow anyone who needs period products to get them free of charge.

The legislation also lays out a “reasonable choice of different period products” be made available and will allow people be able to have products delivered to them.

Monica Lennon, the lawmaker who submitted the draft proposal, thanked the groups who were instrumental in its passage, including the Girl Guides of Scotland, and said a collaborative effort across the government had led to its success.

“We have shown that this Parliament can be a progressive force for change when we collaborate,” Ms. Lennon told lawmakers before the vote on Tuesday. “Our prize is the opportunity to consign period poverty to history. In these dark times, we can bring light and hope to the world this evening.”

Lawmakers across the political spectrum voiced support for the bill throughout its final debate.

Aileen Campbell, the cabinet secretary for communities and local government said the bill’s passage would send “a very clear message to the kind of Scotland we want to be.” She said it was “clear that everyone in this chamber agrees that no one in our society should have to suffer the indignity of not having the means to meet their basic needs and that being able to access period products is fundamental to equality and dignity.”

It’s not just the cost of products that have been an issue. A variety of circumstances make menstruation a difficult experience for women and girls, the bill’s creators say, including poverty, homelessness, abusive relationships and some health conditions. Some transgender people also have trouble accessing sanitary products.

And the issue has been made worse by the coronavirus pandemic, a study published by Plan International U.K., a global children’s charity, showed this year.

Almost a third of girls and women age 14 to 21 had problems either being able to afford or gaining access to sanitary products during the first national lockdown this year, the survey showed. While schools across Britain have provided period products for free since last year, the closing of schools and youth centers closed during the pandemic left many girls without the necessary supplies, the group said.

“It matters now more than ever, because periods don’t stop in a pandemic,” Ms. Lennon said in Parliament.

She and other lawmakers also made it clear that there was still work to be done in tackling the stigma and embarrassment around periods.

“Once access to period products is secured for all, our next steps must be ensuring women’s health in general remains high on the political agenda in Scotland and that we end all stigma around menstruation,” she told a local news outlet, The Scotsman, ahead of the vote.
