Nairaland General › Re: Link Building In SEO - How To Get Started With Link Building For Your Website? by swanpiccolo: 11:56am On Mar 27, 2023 |
Link building is a great off-page SEO method, especially with a good B2B agency at your corner. The tricky thing is that there are many out there that will promise you amazing results within a month, and that's not really how link building works. Taking cheap shortcuts can eventually compromise your ranking. Ideally, there will be transparency at a high level so that you have insight into what's going on behind the scenes. |
Webmasters › Re: Factors To Consider Before Choosing A Website Name by swanpiccolo: 11:52am On Mar 27, 2023 |
Branding: Your website name should align with your branding strategy. It should be easy to remember, spell, and pronounce. Your website name should be distinctive and unique to avoid confusion with competitors.
SEO: Search engine optimization (SEO) is a critical factor in driving organic traffic to your website. Your website name should include keywords that are relevant to your business and industry. It will help search engines understand the content of your website and make it easier for people to find you online.
Domain Availability: It's essential to check if the domain name is available before finalizing your website name. Your domain name should be easy to remember and spell, and it should match your website name. You can use domain name generators to help you find available domains that fit your business name and branding. |

Optimakld: If what you have is just your phone, you should try businesses that you can do with your phone.
I remember when I started Affiliate Marketing. all I had was my phone and laptop.
Focus is important. Don't try too many things at the same time you will be confused all the time. Some stats I read state that around 80% of online content publishers join affiliate marketing and 8 out of 10 brands run an affiliate program. It is a definitely way to go, but it's necessary to learn the best practices and do it right. To get familiar with the software to grow, track and manage your campaigns. For example, use an affiliate dashboard to keep track of your performance - conversions, commission, sale amount, clicks, sessions, CTR (Click Through Rate) and ECPC (Earned Commission per Click). Also, you need to know which affiliate links are performing the best and where you could use some improvement or a change of strategy. If you are serious and invest in courses and tools, it can be great source of income. |

Webmasters › Re: Which Is Better Www Or Non-www (url) Web Address? See Answer And Reasons by swanpiccolo: 1:25pm On Jan 11, 2023 |
OnlineMarketers: Introduction
When the Internet began, all websites started their domains with www. But several years ago, more and more sites started to use non-www domains because user behavior has changed.
For example, URLs with www:
https://www.adeniyiadebowale.com http://www.adeniyiadebowale.com
And URLs without www: https://adeniyiadebowale.com http://adeniyiadebowale.com
[the "s" after http shows the Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) is secured. Websites are required to get the certificate nowadays].
What are www and Non-www?
The terms “www” and non-www” are often used to simply describe whether a URL includes “www.” The World Wide Web (WWW) describes the vast collection of textual documents and multimedia files that can be accessed using the Internet. The URL or web address is translated by the name server into an IP address, which your browser connects to in order to serve the webpage. A non-www domain is often referred to as a “naked” URL.
Which is better for SEO?
If you have the non-www version as the preferred version of your site, you should not have the www domain indexed. If you want to use both, please ensure you set up 301 redirects to the preferred version – and not 302 redirects. That’s because 302 redirects do not transfer PageRank over to the redirected domain/page as well as 301s. When you set up redirects the experience is seamless for users. Regardless of what they type to reach your site, Google and other search engines will recognize the preferred domain and also spread the link authority accordingly.
Which One Should I Use?
It’s possible eventually www domains will become obsolete as most people don’t bother typing them in while searching for a website. These days, it is becoming more common not only on desktops but also in mobile browsers such as Google Chrome for “www” to be hidden by default, which leaves some wondering if it could be obsolete in the future. Nevertheless, either one can be used. Once you decide which one to use, make sure all your sitemap URLs and internal links use your preferred version and, if you can control them, your backlinks should be consistent as well.
What if I Use Both?
The world will not end if you use both non-www and www in your domain, but it is not recommended. In fact, Google will see this as two separate sites. If you have both versions indexed, you would have to set up and maintain both sites in Google Search Console, you’d face duplicate content issues, and your link equity would be split between the two domains. This can potentially harm your search engine rankings, so you need to choose one and stick with it. If you need to have both sites indexed for a technical reason like your CMS does not have the ability to set up 301 redirects, then you can use canonical tags. A canonical tag is an HTML tag that helps websites prevent duplicate content by specifying the “canonical” or “preferred” version of a webpage or domain to Google.
Conclusion
If you are starting a new site, you have to stick with one or the other. If you have a site that is established, stick with whatever you have and don’t change it. Redirects should only be used if absolutely necessary. Once they are used, it will take Google some time to crawl and index the changes and some visibility can be lost. Good tips, can help you decide which way to go. |

Hello there! I believe I can help you with this one. To my knowledge, there are two ways to export tasks from Asana to Excel. In our office, we use a workflow management tool that allows you to do that, but you can also export Asana projects as a CSV file. Keep in mind though that if you do it this way, manually, it's one-way (you cannot export from Excel back to Asana). |

Career › Re: Digital Marketing (My Journey So Far) by swanpiccolo: 9:45am On Dec 16, 2022 |
Cindy222: It feels so good to finally be on my 'digital marketing' journey. Now, I am a tech sis in the making and so passionate about promoting brands to connect with potential customers using the internet and other forms of digital communication.
This article shares how I got into the field.
Around January, I had a tough time making a decision between going for a masters degree programme or towing the skills and certifications path.
After several months of contemplating, I settled for skills and certifications, but I still had to take some time to figure out which particular field I wanted to go into.
I wanted something more than just a 'first degree', so figuring out my next academic or vocational move was paramount.
Having graduated in 2015, I served my country 'Nigeria' in the mandatory National Youth Service Corps(NYSC) programme in 2016, it is not uncommon in this techy days to say that a University degree is not enough to get you a job, let alone a good one.
I realized this after being 'corporately idle' for a few years. Corporately idle because I have never had a full-time job, just part-time jobs.
This is 2021.
Can you now imagine how long it took me to do 'something different' with my life? All in all, I believe it is never too late to do something. Better late than never, right?
Fast forward to September, I decided to go for a 'digital skill' in relation to my interests, hobbies and general personality.
That skill is, DIGITAL MARKETING.
Most elements of 'digital marketing' are related to things I have a knack for, which are:
- Building relationships with people.
- Writing.
- Understanding how people think/feel and the reasons behind why they do what they do.
- Social media.
- Paying attention to details.
- Learning new stuff.
- Research.
- Solving communicational/relational issues etc...
Digital Marketing encompasses all of these and because they all come naturally to me, I thought to myself, 'Why not take on your passions and build a career around it?'
Now, I am standing here only because 'digital marketing' made a way!
(In Travis Greene's voice).
Although a theoretical foundation is important, Digital Marketing is actually a very practical field. One has to strategize, track and measure his/her outcomes and adjust where necessary.
So far, I am still at the start of its learning curve. I plan to work on digital projects and also get an internship role, where I can learn more on the job and get industry experience.
As time goes on, I will be updating my Digital Marketing journey so far. The elements you listed are the very core of marketing, both digital and traditional in my opinion. I think you made a good career choice and I wish you good luck on your journey! |
