Look, nothing you say is wrong and I broadly agree with you that Party delegates should vote with national interest at heart.

Yet you and I know that is not the reality of Nigeria. Even ordinary Nigerians task Buhari to abuse power and bully some candidates out of the APC race merely because they do not like those candidates. They forget democracy is the big loser.

In PDP, even as I don't personally support him, Obi will be schemed out in favour of Atiku, Saraki or Tambuwal because of how Party politics work. How is another Fulani leading a very divided Nigeria in our "national interest"?

Yet the PDP candidate will 100% be a Northerner and likely Fulani. What does that tell you about reality vs your idealist viewpoint ?

We cannot talk about national interests with these people and we cannot influence what they do. We must seize the day as insiders. Anything else amounts to self-delusion.

If serious, those of us in the category of Nigerian youths must join political Parties enmasse so we can begin to have an influence at Party level where everything begins.

When we are not ready for that level of taking our own destiny in our hands, then we should just accept whoever Parties churn out as their candidate and go for the lesser devil.

Thst is the pragmatic reality, that can only be changed from inside, you should accept.

Changing things from inside caught me.

If I grasped your point correctly, we are doomed as a Nation cos "Politicians" do not think national interest first?

One sure fact drawn out of this painful reality is that things will go from bad to worse cos peace becomes elusive under this scheme of event which will be vehemently resisted by conscious and well informed electorates. No one will campaign with "building on Buhari's legacies" and have the electorates hypnotized and swayed along his empty rhetorics this time.

We are waiting for a shocker bound to destroy the very remaining tiny string sustaining the center.

We are watching and will no longer remain silent as usual.

Grow up. Are you 9 years old? What do you want me and you to do about the reality of internal practices, 'horsetrading' in reality, of political Parties? Are you a voting delegate of any Party?

Nigeria is failing because of people like you. Not me. I am a pragmatist. You, on the other hand, don't realise that one must pass B on the way to arrive at C if you begin from A.

You are talking about national interest to me, your fellow ordinary Nigerian, when you should take such talk to the voting members of political Parties or, even better, join the process yourself so you can lobby your fellow delegates in future to respect national interest when casting votes for a Presidential candidate.

As it is, I just view you another dreamer disconnected with reality and, most importantly, what must be done, by all of us, to turn Nigeria round.

So long as people like you sit on the sideline making rhetorically patriotic and populist speech, only at election time, while expecting others to reform Nigeria for you, out of the goodness of their heart, then our nation will remain comatose.

You know, as I can see, that parochial and selfish politics brought us where we are today. Judging from your movement to point C passing through B from A, no doubt we were scammed in 2015 after the promise of empty change that dovetailed into next level of suffering. Was there any lesson learnt?

You underestimate the power of speaking out when you can, mass mobilisations and sensitisation at all levels. Irrespective of whatever horse trading and maneuvering going on at party level, the odds cannot be wished away when a candidate with known baggage(s) fly party flag.

Maybe politicians take the electorates for granted?

Time will tell. You can win the war but not peace.

Only equity, justice and fair play guarantee peaceful coexistence.

Posters like you think party politics is the panacea to Nigeria's miryads of problems?

Posters like you think that peace without justice and equity is the best solution to the bedeviling woes of the country.

Posters like you think that sectional/selfish interest transcends National interest.

The Chance of Peter Obi winning is 90% while the chance of Wike wining is 21%

Instead of him to be more concerned about his ambition, he's trying to drag someone that's far ahead of him politically.

Even if Obi is not winning, one thing is certain and sure that Wike is not even close.

Well said

ClintonEmex:
One thing that has kept Nigeria behind and unprogressive is tribalism and sentiments.

What Reno is indirectly saying here is that PDP should give Atiku the flag because he's from the North and not Peter Obi, cos the Northerners will prefer to vote for their own despite Obi being much better in every ramification.

Well said.

But I think Buhari's regime should have opened many people's eyes to the truth and reality. What Nigeria has gone through in the hands of Buhari should have made virtually everyone to know that what matters is competence and true leadership.

Peter Obi is the best candidate so far from the PDP, he's someone with a track record of success. He's like a coach that has good record in his former team and will most likely replicate his performance in the next and bigger team.

In the PDP we have Obi and in the APC we have Osinbajo, these are men that will offer hope and brighter things to Nigeria. They're not power drunk or selfish, they're there to salvage the situation on ground unlike their older counterparts who just wants to rule for ruling sake. Anyone of them that takes the mantle of leadership will take Nigeria to a better and greater heights.

People should stop taking us backwards by talking about regions and tribes, we're past that stage of voting out of sentiments. Look for the best candidates and vote for them irrespective of tribe, color and religion. Make Nigeria a better place, we're bitterly far from our mates in the world due to bad leadership. Stop suffering others because of your selfish interest.

That's disappointing. But then again, Peter Obi has always struck me as a loner type of politician. He doesn't seem to relate well with politicians outside of his socio-political circle. I recall that when Atiku picked him as running mate SE governors and politicians were initially not receptive to the choice. Support for his ambition so far seems more widespread with social media users than grassroot politicians. It remains to be seen how far he'll go with this ambition. I wish him all the best.

The answer is obvious.

For the "Share the money" crop of polithiefians, Peter Obi is No No. Abia is not better under Okezie, with all sense of responsibility and he endorsing Obi is never expected cos both are not on the same league.

Obi is a game changer. May Obi happen to Abia State.
