Please America still remains the best place for the average black man. Work hard, mind your business, carefully select the company you keep, and obey cop rules and you are good to go.

My kid bro still in Uni sends me money. He's the youngest supervisor at a large departmental store in the US dominated by white staff (just after 3 years of working there) and you want to tell me racism is still that ugly?

And yes my bro is a dark skinned black man.

You should prolly get access to the full story.... What the black community is saying is how would you shoot someone on the account that you thought he had a gun 41 times and he didn't?? Years back for that one now Michael Brown was shot how many times?? Bill cosby is already enroute to court, so pls try reading the full details or better still watch CNN, they ve compiled a list of crimes committed by cops that resulted in black's death! Don't let someone to come n say nonsense on nairaland here......that reminds me a black man was also shot on his wedding day by three white detectives on dat same account.....lemme stop here you can google n check tho.....its becoming unbearable!
still "enroute" up til now?? Trust me, Bill Cosby would have received a severe court judgement by now if racism was really that bad.

If I had the time I would have googled and dug up incidents to show you that there are many, as in many innocent white people in prison, shot dead or brutalized by the same cops. It only becomes news when it's a black.

I almost agreed with your post till I read the bill cosby case . thank God you said they say .... you know the problems I have with these women is , why didnt they come out at that time . No one would believe that story dear . I know some might say stigma et all but come on its not like you got raped by a gangstar , it was by a super star as claimed . so why come out now and n ot when it happened . I dont support rape , but if you cannot come out when it happened , remain silent forever.
I'm not saying he did rape them. That's why I said they say. I'm saying that if this whole racism thing was as ugly as they paint it, then Bill Cosby would be in court and about to be sentenced to death or life imprisonment by now because of the allegations. Let's not forget that there are about 12 women (all whites) accusing him of rape.

You get?

Honestly white Americans unwittingly fan the flames of racism when they come out with stuff like this.

I have heard of many black on black crimes. I have heard of some black on white crimes that didn't receive much attention as the white on black crimes.

Look at Bill Cosby being accused of rape (as in they say he raped white women o!)? What has happened to him?
Abegi! leave that thing.

Let's go easy on the lot of them.
They say comedy is really hard work.
The bedrock of standup comedy in the country (maybe also abroad) was built on daily struggles and misfortune of the lower class.
It's not that easy to get inspiration from such anymore once you've grown into a higher income level.
I Wish them all the best.
One of the few people that understand my message.

Yeah you make sense. This could be the reason.....

I kept emphasizing A-list comedians here yet people are mentioning C, D, E -list comedians here?
I keep saying that the A-listers get boring once they get to the top and that upcoming comedians are the funny ones and some coconut heads are still telling me that "it's not easy to be a comedian" "if their jokes no fit make you laugh no be their fault is just that your problem is bigger than their joke" As in how much dumber can some dumb skulls get? shocked shocked shocked

The moment you mentioned AY and said he was funny, at that moment your comment lost credibility. That dude is the driest man I ever cane across. One thing going for him is this - he is probably the most hardworking guy around.
I remember stating it clearly in my opening post that AY is funny ONLY in his shows and that outside that he's just there. Does that mean that I think he's funny generally?

Yes! Especially the ones that paid top naira to see an act.

In klint da drunk's voice...sorry if they didn't make you laugh,it wasn't because of lack of talent on their part, your problem might just be bigger than their talent...

You seem to be a professional wedding 'attender'..it wld be hard to entertain someone like you when you go to weddings with all your 'issues n baggages'...

OP. I just want you to know it gets to a stage in life that just your name and anything associated with you sells. Don't we all struggle to get to the top? When you get to the top you relax bro. This doesn't happen with just the comedian, it happen everywhere, football, offices even between the thugs/touts. You don see MC Olu-omo dey break bottle/engage in fighting now? Didn't he do all those before getting to the top.?

CHECK MY SIGNATURE!!!
Nonsense! Typical "I don land" Nigerian mentality. In other climes Staying at the top is just as difficult as getting to the top. Why do you think Kim K, Nicki Minaj and co. are always looking for ways of staying relevant? Robin Williams kept us laughing despite his old age and fight with depression. That's how it is done!
CelebritiesThis Annoying Thing About Nigerian Comedians by Sweetlemon(op): 7:16pm On Dec 03, 2014
I just watched a hilarious edition of EL R8D on ebony life TV courtesy of EmmaohmyGod and Chigurl. There's this bitter after taste in my mouth because I realized that their sense of humour will most likely die a mysterious death when they become A-list stars. Why are our comedians like this?

I attended a wedding where Bovi was the MC. This was before he became popular. My goodness! We almost died of laughter! He presented us oven fresh jokes in the most unique manner. In fact, he was just something else. He soon became popular and even though he's still funny, (in fact, he's the only A-list star comedian that is still funny, and maybe AY) I have not enjoyed him the way I enjoyed before he became famous.

I have attended weddings/events with AY and basket mouth as MCs and I don't remember laughing even once. Maybe a smile here and there but no full blown laughter. AY is only funny in his shows, outside that, he's just there. But you won't believe it's the same guys that nearly cracked you to death during their hustling days. Even Julius Agwu is nothing to write home about at events. All they do now is charge outrageous fees just to show us their designer suits. Huh? Smh.

American comedians like Kevin Hart, Arsenio Hall, Jerry Seinfeld, Chris Rock, Robin Williams (RIP) still make us laugh hysterically. So why are our stars forming like this? Could it be the psychological effect of too must hustling? Whatever, someone should tell these guys that this really not a good way of going international.

FamilyRe: Why Do Men Get Re-Married More Than Women? by Sweetlemon(f): 8:47pm On Dec 02, 2014
You guys are not being real here.

The answer is simple. Because it's easier for men to find partners in our part of the world. You know how difficult it is for a woman once she passes 30 don't you? Then how many Nigerian men are willing to take some other man's "left over" (what they call divorcees and widows?) Not many Nigerian guys are mature enough for the "baggage".

You are a brainless twerp.
I can tell from your myopic brain that 'in all sector' to you means 'christmas light' right?. If you had a functional brain, you would notice that the emphasis is on the new look of the town viz-a-viz its beautification, improved security situation, sanitation, prevailing and increasing condusive environment etc. You are the one insulting your stewpid self here with your pea-sized brain.
Mind you there is a 't' in christmas, you've written it 5times now omitting the 't' eact time. Its a typo, i know...IDIOTT again
Oh my days!
grin
Some people will hang on to anything just to make themselves look better even if it means checking out the spelling of Christmas!

Thanks for the correction sir. I am where I am today because I am not too proud to take corrections. I always knew it was Christmas though but I have this bad habit of typing anyhow when it's not a formal presentation.
Thanks again I will be more careful with my spellings in future.
