CultureRe: Pictures From Soon To Be Yoruba Village In London!!! by Sweetlemon(f): 8:55am On Sep 02, 2014
Nice Idea.
Wrong timing.

That's one of the main problems with Nigerians. We do not do first things first. Develop your villages at home first before you go and set up another "village" in another man's land.
RomanceRe: Photos: This Guy Proposed To His Girl In Shoprite, Ikeja Lagos by Sweetlemon(f): 8:00pm On Sep 01, 2014
lafuria1: Nigerians, we are sometimes just bitter for no reason. If those couples were white, most of you criticizing them will react differently.
Proposing in this nature is meant for the public to see, prove to her that you can let the world know she is getting married to you. It takes different form. They chose shop rite because they wanted lot of people to see it.
You guys should chill, if you don't like it, warn your boyfriend not to attempt it.
They are jus jealous that's all. I smell jealousy all over the thread. The guys are beefing the guy's guts and his fine babe, while the girls are beefing the girl. Which woman wouldn't love her man showing the world that he loves her? Huh?

Abegi! Leave matter. I know NLers wella when it comes to things like this.......

lyntiffany: My dear is not as if Cameroonian soldiers are more active than Nigerian soldiers , the issue is that Nigerian military is filled with Hausa Fulani Muslims that are bokoharam sympathisers. Some which have their brothers in the sect. That's the reason it seems this people cannot be conquered.
And who is their C-in-C? Please remind me again, I don forget.

Christianity EtcRe: Chris Oyakhilome's Wife Files For Divorce Over Adultery by Sweetlemon(f): 3:54pm On Aug 29, 2014
blink182: On this issue, I will stand by Pastor Chris. It is obvious Pastor Chris will not be going the way of many nigerian pastors including big shots like Late Arch. Bishop Benson Idahosa, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, Pastor Oyedepo and others who turned the church of God into personal property that will be willed to their wives instead he has chosen to take the part of Redeem church, baptist and other big churches where pastors rise through the ranks.

I was a BLW member for about 4 years and in BLW you can be just a cell member today and become a Pastor tomorrow all depending on your ability to win souls for Christ.

It has become obvious to Anita that eventually when Pastor Chris passes on, she is not next in line to become President of BLW. I know at least 20 pastors that are ahead of her in ministry. While wait until the dude is gone and I am placed on some funny pension while another takes over the helm of things? I should divorce the man now and cart away with all the court permits.

Let me make it known too that Pastor Chris does not have personal property to the best of my knowledge, the privileges he enjoys are attached to the office of President, Believers Love World. When he is no more, all of these perks will simply slide to the next president and Anita is having non of it. She wants her share and she wants it now, while I feel sympathy for her, I think she has gone too far with the adultery accusation but then she might be right.

I pray God gives Pastor Chris the wisdom and courage to outlive this storm likewise Anita.
wow!

Lordlexyy: What men can do for money has no regious or ethnic boundary. You are already vexed up but we cannot leave anything to chance at such critical moment. The way the north felt northerners cannot be responsible to set bombs on their kith and kins is the same opinion you expressed over Ihejirika faith, region and no involvement. My concern isn't in the allegation but the over bearing attitude of Igbo folks who would jump at anything that has an Igbo name without critical analysis. I'm sure, if other tribes do same, i wonder how illogical all of us will become.
Don't mind these naive bunch of.......... I don't have the heart to type the words in my mind now.

These people are simply disgusting with their sentiments!
PoliticsRe: El-Rufai Is Boko Haram’s Executive Commander – Ihejirika by Sweetlemon(f): 11:36am On Aug 29, 2014
Igbos will rather die than accept that one of their own is sponsoring BH.

Is the Australian guy an APC member? So why should he be biased? Wetin consine am? He just delivered reports from his findings.

Yet y'all are here arguing simply because Ihejirika guy is a Christian and an easterner. Haven't you heard of the word "politics"? Instead of asking for investigations you are here shouting easterner/Christian/Muslim. They should all be investigated both the Northern Muslim and easterners (and wherever). Don't worry una eye go soon clear. Na small small.

vislabraye: Abi ? They cursed GEJ but the excuse they'll give is that Tinubu is a private citizen.
Is he a government property?

Anyway, I have not exempted him. He was once a governor and so should have built at least one world class hospital in Lagos
HealthRe: N1.9 Bn ‘ebola Fund’ Will Be Used For Cars, Others - Health Minister by Sweetlemon(f): 2:19pm On Aug 27, 2014
Sincere9gerian: I am the NUMBER ONE supporter of GEJ govt but that does not stop me from criticizing (constructively) actions or inactions of either the president himself or any of his appointees. If APC e-warriors have been engaged in constructive criticisms, there would not have been all the e-fights on this platform.
Naaaaa. You have just started doing that recently. Previously, you were simply an eye sore!
HealthRe: N1.9 Bn ‘ebola Fund’ Will Be Used For Cars, Others - Health Minister by Sweetlemon(f): 2:16pm On Aug 27, 2014
Sincere9gerian: What is wrong with this minister of health? Why not use the funds to set up world class isolation centres with well trained staff for hemorrhagic diseases or other highly infectious deadly diseases in select existing FG tertiary hospitals? Why not use part of the funds to support research on ebola and other hemorrhagic diseases? What about procurement of adequate barrier nursing tools and PPE in the existing in the hospitals? This minister should better get his acts together.

I guess the minister made this pronouncement because he feels the current outbreak of ebola has been effectively contained, but while that maybe true, we should begin now to prepare for the next outbreak of ebola, other hemorrhagic diseases or any other highly infectious and deadly disease. We should be proactive for once.
I'm fast becoming your fan o shocked
HealthRe: N1.9 Bn ‘ebola Fund’ Will Be Used For Cars, Others - Health Minister by Sweetlemon(f): 2:14pm On Aug 27, 2014
GentleMimi: I'm very sure my ears and eyes were functioning to fullest capacity when i heard and read abt the release of such funds. Now story don change. This is pathetic!
Unfortunately, when this ebola ish is over, everyone will want to take the glory, claiming to have curbed the crisis. The real heroes are the late Doc. Adadevoh and her health team, also the few volunteers at the isolation centre. I will also applaud the state govt for quick response. It is really sad. I pray we never encounter this again. I got an ''internal info'' that Adadevoh's hospital was responsible for providing the food and drugs for its staff at the isolation center.
But if i may ask, what has the government learnt from this? Have measures been put in place to avoid further future occurence? Facilities and infrastructures to help contain ebola? Or are we still exposed and helpless? I do not think we've learnt from the ongoing ebola battle.
That's not the bad thing. The sad part is that next week, people like you will go back to hailing the same FG. After all Jonathan can do no wrong in your eyes and even if he does there is always an excuse for that.

mtcheeeeeeeeew
Nairaland GeneralRe: If You Could Be One Age Forever, What Age Would You Choose? by Sweetlemon(f): 10:32am On Aug 27, 2014
24/25

Best age ever for women. My advice to girls in that age bracket, enjoy it to the limit. This is the age to stretch your tent as wide as you can dare. Make sure you meet enough people (I mean people who will be of great use to you of course!) unless of course you are the ageless beauty type, you may never get that opportunity again.

BusinessRe: Nigeria Sinks Deeper Into External Debt by Sweetlemon(f): 11:25am On Aug 20, 2014
CFCfan: Although the debt to GDP ratio is only 12%, the govts (both federal and state) should curtail their borrowing tendencies. After all, the GDP cannot repay the debt, only government revenue can.

The FG's share of the debt is around $54bn, but it's revenue hovers around $30-odd billion. When the foreign reserve is added, the FG can barely pay off its entire share of the national debt.
Yes. Both State and FG should stop their unnecessary borrowing.
BusinessRe: Nigeria Sinks Deeper Into External Debt by Sweetlemon(f): 11:24am On Aug 20, 2014
barcanista: This report has confirmed my earlier position that Jonathan is operating a Government of Fraud. When President Obasanjo came to Power, Nigeria's External debt was $35bn. President Obasanjo successfully cleared the debt and left a Reserve of about $45bn. In contrast Jonathan has depleted the Reserve and has punged us into a huge debt.

Jonathan must be kicked out of power in 2015
That's not the sad thing. The sad thing is that people still want him there just to satisfy their sentiments.

rapmike: She stood like an Ivory Tower, protecting the unsuspecting from a deadly danger.

My recommendations include
1. Giving her the next honour before GCFR.( CFR or so) that can be given freely, posthumous of course.
2. Making sure that her family members are well taken care of.
3. Shut down all links to Liberia until they and the US tell us what Mr Sawyer actually came to do in Nigeria, not their cock and bull story.
America again? Did they send the man here? I thought he came here for an ECOWAS summit? You know what ECOWAS stands for don't you?

Thank God she kept the guy in the hospital knowing what would have happened should he have left there when they were no isolation wards in the country at that moment.

That's what makes her a heroine to me and not because she was on duty because she worked in a high brow private hospital for crying out loud!
PoliticsRe: FG Gives Buhari 30 Security Escorts by Sweetlemon(f): 10:37am On Aug 20, 2014
Good move by Jonathan.

Although I wonder why Buhari has suddenly become more important to him than other ordinary Nigerians. Are our lives not at stake with Ebola, BH and hunger threatening to snuff life out of the average law-abiding Nigerian?

bokoarerams: have asked urself why d National Assembly and senate approve their appointments? lemme educate u a little, all appointments are shared between all states in d federation and each state nominates who takes thier slot through their own local politics.
My advice for u is to try and suppress d urge to blame Jonathan for every single problem in Nigeria. It irritates me to hear educated pple make such dirty mistakes. Pls grow up
My Goodness!

Biko nu, who presents the final nominees to the senate for screening in the first place and who eventually swears them in?

ephemm: This is pure nonsense!!!

As much I will not support any corrupt practice, I will still say bringing up this issue at this time is "stupid".

Whoever dug this up and is bringing it out at this time is not wise and does not love this nation.

The minister was screened by the senate I guess, why didn't you bring this up then?, We could have stop the thief then.

I guess you tried to blackmail him with this info now and he did not fall for you, or maybe you just sympathize with the "gluttonous" NMA strike action.
Sorry but you just supported corruption with this post.

When non-sentimental people like me criticize Jonathan, they say we are too tough, we are not patriotic we are this and that.

Can anyone explain why a good number of Jonathan's aides/political allies have one corruption charge or the other attached to their names?
HealthRe: Dr Ameyo Adadevoh Dies Of Ebola Virus by Sweetlemon(f):
candy: Do you think being a medical doctor is synonymous with committing suicide? If this doctor, of blessed memory, had known Mr Slayer had ebola, she prolly would not have touched him without an hamzat suit.
I know you will come here and say 'RIP' if there is a news report that says '1000' doctors died while saving 100 lives. Why would any doctor deliberately die and leave his/her family behind to suffer in Nigeria?
I challenge you to "take example" from this doctor and offer yourself as a volunteer caregiver at the isolation unit and shame those "hungry men/ murderers parading demsefs as medical doctors, embarkin on strikes". WHO/Doctors without borders will train you. Please be patriotic and stop insulting doctors, they are flesh, bone and blood like you.
DANGOTEONE: RIP.

Just for the record.

ignis: Rip doctor.... You died in active service to save life of humanity....
May God give your family the fortitude to bear the loss.
Sorry to burst your bubble ma. She didn't die in "active service" or as a heroine. She DIDN'T KNOW Sawyer had ebola when she attended to him. Besides, she was working in a private hospital that paid her well.

Such words should be reserved for soldiers and policemen or other professionals who served as volunteers. Nigerians should stop being so damn sentimental and learn to know when to separate emotions from facts.
FamilyRe: Single Friends Of Married Peeps. by Sweetlemon(f): 1:13pm On Aug 18, 2014
babestell: It may not always be jealousy. Some girls just grow up hearing all sorts of crap about how to live their life, what society expects from them etc that when they are faced with situations like this they do not know how to react.

Someone on this thread said she dropped all her single friends when she got married and only hooked up with them when they got married too. If those single friends had complained, it wouldn't have been out of jealousy.

Also those friendships where girls quarrel because one is hooked up and the other is not are mostly built on flimsy premises. All those fast friendships that I saw girls build up in school that always scattered before end of semester because of stupid reasons. grin
To be honest, both the married and singles have issues.

But from my experience I will tell you that there is nothing a married woman can do or say when around singles that will not make it look like she's trying to rub her status in their faces.

Also, married women have this levels-don-change mentality. (even if their husbands no get money o!) The way they carry themselves changes. Everything changes and they often feel superior to the singles. But often times, jealousy from the singles is more than all these factors and that is why married women tend to give their distance once married.
